Missed the turnaround last week because I was busy with work, so I thought I'd dump a double load on the bay this week. Focusing mainly on late 70s and 80s soul this week after a couple of people asked me why I only sell Northern and funk now!
Picks of the week:
Harvey Averne - You're No Good (Atlantic) - just check this out, this is just a quality record in my book
Chantells - World of Soul (Soul Kitchen) - lesser known Northern stomper
Sam Cooke - Sugar Dumpling (RCA) Northern
Sorokas Band - Where Would I Be (Sorokas) seems to be a lot rarer than the track by Sorokas on the same label. To my ears, this is a great 80s soul track
Yvette Cason - Next To You (Beantown) a definite modern soul winner. On 7" only (unless there's a different 12" to the one I have)
OC Tolbert - Message TO Mankind (New Day) my kind of soul record - downtempo, morose and miserable. Usually goes $100+ every time its on the bay
