Recently in Glawster a bunch of "Wazzocks" have risen as a group of soulies from listening to a local radio station!

Wazzock putting it in a nutshell means idiot! We have been informed from folks from different parts of the country if you call somebody a Wazzock round these parts you're likely to get a whack on the nose! - Its just a bit of fun,well it is for us!

As I said it all stems from listening to a soul show on a Sunday evening on Stroud FM,which bizarrely we listen to in our PJs(prob too much info!lol) just another wazzock trait! We are not confined to the Glawster area we have Honarary Wazzocks in Philadelphia and Masechusettes(crap spelling I know!)that listen and join in the show! aswell as wazzocks from various parts of the UK.

Basically we have known one another on the scene as individuals for a years but as a group we have a blast out and about,bizarre shirts and other attire which sometimes gets frowned upon by some "purists!", 99% of them (not me im only 49!) are 50+s and are out for a good time to listen and dance this great music we know and love!

Wazzocks have taken coach trips to Kings Hall and Wigan this year and many have been seen @ various soul events around the Midlands,Oxford and the South East and West.Nighters,weekends and soul do's in general.

Anyway,last night we had our Christmas bash! Top night playing bloody CDs!!! it was the only kit available in the pub! Reason being so we were told needed the space for the live act,fair enough! Missfusion performed some cracking soulful tunes which had the wazzocks dancing their socks off!

All in all its been a cracking year for the newly formed wazzocks! Roll on 2012

Just wondering if any other folks that have formed for want of a better word "a group" of soulies borne from a strange beginnings?

I must admit I couldn't understand why I didn't notice any of "the Wazzocks" amuzing attire at the 2 room All Nighter the night before, but there again if C.D.'s & "cover bands" are your thing, good luck to you
