Just had some sad news through from the States, Harry McGilberry aka Harry Berry formerly of The Temptations and The Futures has passed away.

Harry joined The Temptations as bass vocalist to replace the departing Ray Davies and ultimately become the full time successor to Melvin Franklin.

His voice was heard on albums such as Phoenix Rising, Ear-Rissitable and Awsome. He won a Grammy in this period with the group. He left in 2003, to be replaced by Joe Herndon.

During the 70's and 80's he was a stalwart of The Philadelphia Soul scene working with the Futures and producers including Gamble & Huff, Norman Harris, Ron Tyson (who was later to be his group mate in the Tempts).

Very sad news...
