Hi Soul Lovers, hoping you're well. We have tickets available for the Keele All-Nighter which falls on the Sunday of the next Bank Holiday weekend, 25th August 2013. They're £14.50p each which includes the booking fee.
Here's a list of Northern & Modern Soul sevens for sale, if there's anything here that you'd like to buy then please phone 0161 834 7783 or reply to us through Soul Source to order or reserve an item, thanks for taking the time to look.
1. Stop Running Around - GLADYS KNIGHT & THE PIPS (Fury)...............VG++..................pre-Motown period R&B/Northern dancer......................£25
2. You Left Me / Lonely Old World World - THE ARTISTICS (Brunswick)..........VG++........two great sides, different tempos but equally effective; subject: Northern.........................£20
3. One Little Dance - THE MOOVERS (Brent).................VG++............£70
4. These Are The Questions - REGGIE ALEXANDER (L.B.J.).......VG++........there's something compelling and mysterious (to me) about this early 70's beat ballady/Crossover stroller; not Northern (yet feels like it), not Modern Room (but would be at home there), neither fast or slow, strong soul vocals with a rich 1970/71 Brunswick label style to it. Everything about it is good, a soul connoisseur's "gem" find, filpside is the instrumental version where vocal lead is replaced by flute and is sticky toffee pudding to any sample-seekers..........................£15
5. Love Is Good - THE BUTLERS (Gamble).............VG++................not one of Blakey's favourite groups but on this Frankie Beverly song they excel themselves as the early Philly style meets Northern on a very pleasing mid-tempo dancer worthy of some Saturday night spins................£25
6. I Gotta Keep My Bluff In - FREDDIE HUGHES (Wand)..............VG++..............if you don't know this corker already, there's a real chance you'll fall in love with it on first hearing. Mellow-ish yet still carries a mid-paced dance tempo that could be thought Crossover or Northern and has the ability to please all listeners......................£20
7. Barefootin' In Chinatown - LESTER YOUNG (Barry).................VG++.........this was Massive at all the top soul venues in the 60's and early 70's and was championed at both the Wheel and the Torch, would sound brilliant as a revived oldie..................................£15
8. Goodbye School (Vocal & instrumental) - THE COOPERETTES (Brunswick)...............VG++............the probable follow-up to "Shing-A-Ling" as the group didn't have many releases to their name, this has a proper Northern backing and is capable of so much more than it's shown so far this term.................£30
9. Lost In The Mood Of Changes - BOBBY BYRD (Smash).............VG++................£30
10. Drop By My Place - LITTLE CARL CARLTON (Back Beat).........VG++...........£20
11. Ain't It Funny What Love Can Do - KENNY YOUNG (Share).......VG++.......brilliant Northern Soul Beat Ballad into mid-tempo dancer........................£15
12. Callin' - BEN AIKEN (Loma demo).........VG++...............jaunty upbeat dancer with that Showmen-type feel you feel like clapping your hands to.....................320
13. Big-Town Boy / (You Can) Count On That - SHIRLEY MATTHEWS (Atlantic)..................Mint-.......£25
14. I Finally Got Wise - BILLY KEEN (Galaxy).......Mint-..............big-time Northern play-out, superb........£180
15. It'll Never Be Over For Me - BABY WASHINGTON (Sue)...........VG++.......................£80
16. (I'm Just A) Fool For You - GENE CHANDLER (Constellation).........VG++............£15
17. The Way I Love This Man / Ride On - THE LAMP SISTERS (Duke)........VG++............£20
18. You Made A Believer Out Of Me - RUBY ANDREWS (Zodiac)...........VG++............£20
19. My Baby Knows How To Love Her Man - THE BALLADS (Venture)..........VG++........£20
20. Your Love Is All I Need - CLIFF NOBLES (Atlantic demo).............VG++...........£45
21. Loneliness Is All Around / Mr Soul Brother - CHRISTINE ADAMS (Cyclone).......VG++...........£15
22. Your Mommy Lied To Your Daddy - THE DEL-CHORDS (Mr Genius).........Mint-..................£100

24. When Love Slips Away / I.O.U. (A Lifetime Of Love) - THE FASHIONS (20th Century demo)..........VG++..............excellent Northern Soul double-sider.................£20
25. Yesterday Will Never Come Again / Unyielding - GLORIA TAYLOR (Mercury).........VG++.......(RECOMMENDED).........................£20
Many thanks for checking out the list, Keep The Faith, keep the sun-tan and keep loving the vinyl.
