Can anyone give some advice on settings on the Technics SL1200 MK2 . Have bought one from new with a Goldring stylus instead of the a Stanton . Have been told to set the weight or stylus pressure to 1.7 and the anti- skating the same . Does this sound correct ?

sounds correct to me. same with most turntables, stylus wieght and anti skating are generally set to weight of cartridge.
