3. Sad Day A-Coming - J.J. BARNES (Revilot).........Mint-...................people don't talk like that round here but it's well worth saying that this upbeat Detroit Northern Soul dancer is anything but sad-sounding, so don't let the title fool you as the only moan J.J. might have is that this great side doesn't get played often enough.......................................£15

4. As Long As I Live (I Live For You) - FANTASTIC FOUR (Ric-Tic)........................rumbling Northern gem, not frantic-paced, steady-but-sure wins the day here but if you love Come On Train and Lonely For You Baby's dance tempo you're more than capable of enjoying this Al Kent production............VG++..........£20

5. Just A Dream - THE IMPERIAL WONDERS (Day-Wood)...............VG++.................rarity recorded in Cleveland, Ohio for very short-lived label, terrific Northern dancer...........................£65

6. Baby I Like It - GODOY COLBERT (Revue).........Mint-.....................baby you will an' all as this uplifting Northern dancer will pass any test you care to set it, sheer delight for a Friday night................£75

16. Baby / Can't Stop Loving You - OTIS LEAVILL (Brunswick)...........Mint-...............two sides of sweet soul perfection from a master of his craft, quite a rare issue this...................£200

17. A Little Bit Now (A little Bit Later) / She's A Troublemaker - THE MAJORS (Imperial)..............VG++............Northern?R&B dancers both sides.....................£10

18. You'd Better Straighten up And Fly Right - TERRI BRYANT (Verve demo)................VG++................£20

19. Ain't Gonna Rest (Till I Get You) - THE FIVE STAIRSTEPS (Windy C)..................Mint-...........a record with the patience of a saint, has been waiting forever for a hard-working DJ to bestow a few spins on its behalf; a great galloping-paced Chicago Northern dancer produced by Curtis Mayfield with an exciting intro that promises nothing but a good time..................PICK OF THE LIST...................£10

20. The Teacher - THE FALCONS (United Artists).................Mint-....................R&B/Northern dancer which may even fall into the Popcorn category for some..............................£15

21. Something Keeps Calling Me Back - WAYNE FONTANA (MGM)..................massive Twisted Wheel oldie.....................£10

22. Somebody Cares / Do Unto Me - TOMMY JAMES & THE SHONDELLS (Roulette white demo).........VG++................................nowt to scared of here, it's all proper Northern and worthy of decent airplay. "Somebody Cares" used to be a Johnny Manship recommendation and was eventually a Richard Searling Wigan Casino spin, while "Do Unto Me" is every bit as good as James & Bobby Purify's version............................£10
