Sorry everybody, I still am figuring out how all this works.  I'm a computer hack.

A couple corrections:  I forgot that I tried to sell the Johnny Praye 45 last year, which I ended up trading to a local, Minneapolis MN collector.  More importantly, for some reason, the phrase "second issue" appears above, under my name.  I assure you that both the Leonard Jewell and myself are original issues.  The 45 is in EX+ shape;  I am in Fair To Good Minus shape, but just got married in November to a Near Mint woman (there's still hope, all of you fellow old farts!) so I am no longer accepting bids on myself.  The Jewell pictured above is the one on offer.  The streaks that appear on the flip are due to something with the photo and are NOT on the record.  The current high bid as of this morning is $5600.  I reserve the right to keep the record in my box if the final offer is not acceptable (it's not quite there yet, but getting close).  I am also open to tempting trade offers.  I collect all kinds of music, and I love the Leonard Jewell, but a clean Fontana copy and something closer to my main areas of collecting might do the trick for someone who doesn't have all the funds...as would be a cash/trade offer. My #1 want is the Spades 45 on Zero:  the tenuous connection to this forum being that one side is called "We Sell Soul." I buy and sell on Discogs under the name "treehouserecords" and am honest.  Let me know if there are any questions I can answer.  I will set a date of February 1st, 2016 as the last day to take bids.

Hope all is well Mark, congratulations on the wedding, glad to see you are now well and truly in the Sh1te like the rest of us poor souls

Second issue has come up because you are new to posting on here !!! the more you post the closer you get to NM

I can't tell if you are joking or not about the "second issue" and "NM" tags, Nick, but if sellers truly get record grades/descriptions to befit their current status, I think it is BRILLIANT!  Somehow, though, I think I am being played.  Someone once told me that the word 'gullible' was not actually in the dictionary...and for a minute or two, I believed them!  :-)  Anyway, nice to hear from you, Nick, and I hope you can make it back to our fair city soon!

I have messages from folks wanting to know when the auction ends, and what type of records I would be looking for in trade.  It could get a bit confusing for me, because at least two other people are putting together cash/trade offers.  So, just to clarify, high bid still rests at $5600 cash.  Unlike many of you, I do not DJ frequently, and therefore danceability is not a top requirement for many of the records I seek.  I love Northern Soul, but I also love tough R&B, black rockers, blues, rockabilly, garage and Deep Soul.  Hope this helps.  Please have offers in by NOON Central Time in the U.S. on February 1st.

OK, this is the last post before auction ends at noon Central Time tomorrow, February 1st.  Because of all the interest, I am asking that anyone who is submitting a bid that includes trade items to attach PRICE and CONDITION to any items offered so as not to further complicate the process.  The current high cash bid is still at $5600, but I suspect it will likely go higher...perhaps much higher, unless a lot of folks who have written aren't really serious.  At least two people are compiling priced trade lists, although I haven't seen anything yet from either!  I will announce the high bid (and high bidder, unless he/she prefers anonymity) by Noon Tuesday, Feb 3rd, which gives me 48 hours to sort out potential trade offers.  Also, some have asked about payment plans...I WILL accept payment plans, but HALF the money MUST be paid immediately, and is non-refundable in the case of further non-payment.  Sorry to have to take a hard line on this, but even the best-intentioned collectors have things come up and don't follow through in a timely fashion.

SOLD.  The Leonard Jewell has found a new home, after intense bidding from two very serious collectors.  Thanks all for your interest!
