Higher Feelings - I wanna stay high on you - Kent / EX / OFFERS OVER £500 (Smooth modern soul on the legendary withdrawn Kent release. Catalogue number were passed on for another release that became the last record on the label. And most copies binned making this a very very rare 45. This is the third copy I know of. Hard one to price, only thing to go on is a copy that sat on Discogs a few months recently for $1999. Taking offers over £500.)
Gino Washington & the Davis Sister - I’m so in love - Atac International / VG+ / £125 (Superb midtempo modern known from the early Yarmouth days. Writing on label, looks like it’s signed by the artist.)
Mascara - It’s cool - Mercury / EX/ EX / £100 (Their nice take on the Tymes classic. Only available on 45 on this rare Japanese release. Complete with picture sleeve.)
Billy Proctor & Love System - Keeping up with the Joneses - Epic / EX / £90 (Very clean & rare issue copy of this killer Philly dancer. Version of the Adam Wade tune.)
Shirley Alston - Can’t stop singin’ (‘bout the boy I love) - Prodigal / EX / £90 (Very rare and very good crossover dancer. Only available on issue copies. Basically the same song as Shirelles “Let’s give each other love”. Two X on label flipside.)
Sisters Love - Give me your love - Mowest / VG / £90 (Dancefloor classic which never grows old. Vinyl has plenty of light marks, plays ok. Label has a little tear around the edge.)
Variations - I can show you - Salsoul / VG+ / £50 (Super high quality stepper written by Lowrell Simon and Wayne Henderson. A very very rare 45 despite being released on the Salsoul label, only found on issue copies. 12 inch and album is easier to pick up. A title I always keep an eye out for but only had three times in a 15 year span. The less interesting disco flipside has some light sleeve marks and scuffs.)
Dionne Warwicke - You’re gonna need me / (I’m) Just being myself - Warner Bros / EX / £50 (Essential double header in two lovely H-D-H dancers. Unplayed copy in company sleeve. Palm tree boulevard label design. Sold twice over $100 on eBay lately.)
Devastating Affair - It’s so sad - Motown / EX / £50 (Great modern dancer which is very very hard on Us Motown. Usually seen on double sided demos with the less interesting a-side.)
Roy Ayers - Programmed for love - Columbia / EX / £45 (A very very good two stepper with a dance beat. Superior version of the Dunn Pearson Jr. track. Currently very indemand and a 45 that always been rare. Issue copy with different flip.)
Ben E. King - Smooth sailing / I betcha didn’t know that - Atlantic / EX / £40 (Lovely 1976 Philly soul production with two killer sides. Hard one to locate on 45, with “Smooth sailing” only appearing on the issue copies.)
Randy Jackson - How can I be sure - Epic / EX / £35 (Legendary two stepper on a elusive major label release. Very nice and crisp copy complete with company sleeve.)
Leroy Hutson - Never know what you can do (Give it a try) - Curtom / EX / £20 (Very strong dancer with both two step and rare groove appeal. Tricky one to find and only on the issue copies.)
Dave Williams Inner Circle - Out of the streets into the sheets - Avi / EX / £6 (Overlooked modern midtempo dance. Canadian copy which unlike the US on is vinyl.
Chubby Checker - The rub - Amherst / EX / £5 (Super nice mellow groove/2 step. White vinyl demo, so you will never get the problem with the cue burn that the copy from the vid below has.)
Bobby Wilburn - I’m a dreamer / I’m a lonely man - Gamble / EX / £750 (Very rare issue copy with two fantastic crossover soul sides. You see this one less than the Chant release. Nice clean copy too.)
Tan Geers - Let my heart and soul be free / What’s the use of me trying - Okeh / VG / £600 (Two truly great sides that needs no introduction. White label big red A promo copy, styrene original. Record has quite a few light superficial marks, plays clean.)
Monticellos - Plaid stamps - Cool / VG / £325 (Very sought after crossover disc with a ghetto feel to it. As most copies of this very rare 45 it’s not mint. There’s quite a few light marks, plays well but not perfect.)
Patti & the Emblems - I’m gonna love you a long, long time - Kapp / VG / £350 (Well respected NS oldie and a superb dance track. Radio station copy, styrene original with small red A on flip. VG copy with some staining and light marks, plays well. Labels are clean.)
Voltaire’s - My, my, my baby / Movin’ movin’ on - Bacone / EX / £250 (Killer double header. Dance beat group soul of the highest quality. Nice clean copy.)

Eric Lomax - Seven the loser - Columbia / VG+ / £160 (Funky northern of the highest quality. White demo copy. Record has a some light sleeve marks not affecting play. Label has a little smudge from removed sticker.)

Towanda Barnes - You don’t mean it - A&M / VG+ / £125 (Congas fuelled stormer! White demo first press original. Record just shy of EX with some light inaudible sleeve marks except for a few light ticks in the runout.)

Musically it’s a mix of slowies with two step appeal and boogie dancers. Cover has a few small dirt stains on front cover, still looks very neat. Back cover is worse with a small tear and dirt stain close to the bottom seam.)

L.R. Superstars - Sayin’ it - Rare Grooves / EX / £20 (UK Compilation of both released and previously unreleased material from the group who released two 45’s on TAPS and two 12’s on Budweiser/Starstream. Two step delights! Generic sleeve release.)
Dynamics - What a shame - Black Gold / EX / £12 (1973 Detroit release filled with goodies. “She’s for real” and “Woe is me” is the standouts to me. Cover has tiny cut out saw mark.)
Free Movement - I’ve found someone of my own - Columbia / EX/EX / £8 (Includes the track “The harder I try” which I think Richard Searling named his fave ever tune. And it is fantastic!)

Lee Staton - Ain’t love funny that way - Omari / EX/EX / £50 (Stunning soul slowie on a rare pic sleeve 12.B-side label has small label tear likely a pressing defect. Still looks neat. Cover weak side of EX because of a small tear mark. Clean apart from that.)
Tommy McGee - Now that I have you - TMG / EX / £40 (1990 release coupling the two sides of his 1981 45 on the same label with a new more modern mix similar to the American Dream release but only available here. All essential music for the 2 step aficionado!)
Mystic Merlin - Just can’t give you up / Can’t stop dancin’ - Capitol / VG+ / £35 (US white promo copy of these dance classics. Vinyl is just shy of EX with a few light sleeve marks not affecting play.)
Potion - EP - Cavco / EX / £20 (Obscure 4 track EP on the same label as Fish epic “This is life”. Includes the stunning mellow groover “You can make it girl”. “Now that I’m grown” is another decent slowie, flip holds two funky uptempo tracks. Comes with photo copies insert. )

David Bendeth - Feel the real - Sidewalk / EX/VG / £8 (UK copy in company sleeve of this classic dancefloor winner. Holds 6:49 + 3:46 version as well as the song “Breakdown”. Company sleeve looks clean but has a few centimeters lower seam split.)

Gradings
NM – spotless record. One grading I don’t really use – one tiny mark/scuff/flame/scratch and it’s EX. Many new records will not make this grade.
EX – Basically everything that will look and play great.
VG+ – Will have marks that may very moderately affect play. Might have fairly large amount cosmetic marks not affecting play.
VG – Lots of marks, should still play fairly well but not perfect.
VG- – Lots and lots of marks, see description on how it plays.

VG – Lots of marks, should still play fairly well but not perfect.
VG- – Lots and lots of marks, see description on how it plays.
