The 45’s are parted into four sections, a couple of highlights from each:
Northern – Exits ultra indemander “Under the street lamp” / “You got to have money” on both green stock copy and the rare white demo. Ambassadors “Ain’t got the love of one girl (on my mind)”, Katrinia Lynn on age (ultra rare Detroit collectible), Dramatics “All because of you” (clean copy, usually seen beat up).
Crossover – Newsound/Newsounds on both yellow/red Scorpion and Mod-Art. Andy Marshall indemander on Vida, Chuck Jacksons killer version of Lamont Doziers “Take off your make-up”.
Modern Soul – Skip Mahoney “Janice”, Percy & Them rare Roulette issue copy, Cecil Lyde “I’ll make it on my own” b/w “Happy feeling”. Eugene Blacknell “Holding on”.
Deep/Sweet/Group – Harlem Meat Company, Full Fource, Day-Tons, Hands of Time, Masqueraders “Now that I’ve found you” and more.
There’s also a 12 inch and a LP section including some great seldom seen records like Jay Player on Bevnik (sunset label original), James Mason “I want your love”/”Nightgruv” (1996 original), Directions on Brunswick, Tony Fox, Smoke on J Bridge, Sandra Wright Wounded woman” etc.
As of half of you ordering missed this last time I mention it again – For all paypal payments please make sure I get the payment in GBP. Paypal are clever with their fee structures and standard is now they are trying to convert your payment into the local currency of the vendor. And of course doing so using their crappy exchange rates. So please make sure your payment are being sent in GBPandreceived in GBP.
Also as usual all payment over £150 needs to go with the friends/family option, alternatively if you add 4% to the total to cover the fees.
Katrinia Lynn – Talking about my man / Instrumental – Sage / VG / £600 (Major Detroit rarity here, a powerful NS dancer with a touch of R&B. Label has a little ring wear, vinyl light scattered marks. Plays great, actual copy for sale on the link below. Auctioned by Tim Brown last year, sold for £750 on eBay and on a UK dealers website for £1000.)
TNJ’s – I didn’t know / She’s not ready – Newark / EX / £450 (Two excellent midtempo sides on a seriously rare 45. Bunny Sigler on lead vocals. Promo copy.)
Ambassadors – Ain’t got the love of one girl (on my mind) – Arctic / EX / £300 (Seldom seen white demo copy of this highly indemand stone classic. Record looks minty but there’s a split second low swosh just before the music starts.)
Frank Howard & the Commanders – I’m so glad / I’m so sorry for you – Barry / VG+ / £150 (Rare NYC northern backed with ballad. Both sides featuring guitar by no other than Jimi Hendrix. Ballad side label has a round white sticker. And vinyl condition of this side is more like VG and plays with faint background noise in the silent parts. Email if you need a soundfile of the actual 45 for sale, the Jimi Hendrix copyrighs autodeleted this when I tried to upload on youtube and soundcloud.)

C.L. Blast – What can I do / I’m in a daze – United / EX / £100 (Powerful NS dancer with gritty vocals, backed with a beautiful beat ballad. Dark blue label variation, very nice clean copy.)
Hank Jacobs – Elijah rockin’ with soul – Call Me / VG+ / £90 (Classic, pounding NS instrumental. Original with delta number 66821 in dead wax. Record looks a little dull but plays well.)
Emanuel Laskey – Lucky to be loved (by you) / Our world – Wild Deuce / EX / £45 (Classic Detroit 45, easy to forget how good these are. Nice clean copy.)
Preston Peters – Got to have peace of mind – Markhap / EX / £45 (Great midtempo northern dancer that apparently got plays at Stafford. From NYC by the looks of it. Tiny X written on label.)

Universal Minds – A chance at love / I betcha – Charles / EX / £75 (Superb NYC double header, feel good crossover backed with a stunning group harmony ballad.)
Tammi Terrell / Brenda Holloway – All I do is think about you / All I do is think about you – Tamla / EX / £60 (Unofficial release of these stunning versions of the song later made famous by the Stevie Wonder. Nice white demo Tamla design like on the copy of the first youtube video, and superb sound quality. 500 copies limited run that since long dried out. Has sold on Discogs for a lot more.)
Herman George – Mental high / What have you got – Bet It’s a Hit / EX / £55 (Orange label copy of this immense double sider. Crossover dancer backed with a beautiful ballad.)
Chuck Jackson – Take off your make-up – Abc / EX / £55 (Nice white demo vinyl copy of this superior version of the Lamont Dozier 45. Rare and 45 only!)
Hodges, James, Smith & Crawford – I’m in love / Nobody – Mpingo / EX / £50 (Superb feel good crossover dancer, backed with funk. Funk side has vague mark from removed sticker.)
Leon Thomas – Love each other – Flying Dutchman / EX / £45 (White demo of this excellent crossover dancer with jazzy undertones. Date written on label.)
Windy City – We party heavy up in heah / Good guys don’t always win – Innovation II / EX / £45 (Superb and unique crossover dancer. Flip is a version of the Sam Dees penned song. White demo copy.)
Reuben Wilson – Got to get your own – Chess / VG / £40 (Long and short versions of this stone rare groove classic. UK only 45 released in 1976. Vinyl has many light marks but plays well.)
Fluorescent Smogg – All my life – S.S. / EX / £30 (OOP and indemand Soul Spectrum reissue of this ultra rare modern dancer. Was made as a bonus giveaway for a compilation.)
Olympics – Girl, you’re my kind of people – Warner Brothers / EX / £30 (Great crossover using the same backing track as Bob Relf “Girl you’re my kind of wonderful”. Great looking white demo, and on vinyl unlike the styrene issue copies.)
Cecil Lyde – I’ll make it on my own / Happy feeling – Alwest / EX / £200 (Great little 45 from Cecil Holden aka Cecil Lyde aka Home Boy. Modern soul classic backed with a deep boogie dancer. )
Skip Mahoney – Janice – Salsoul / EX / £160 (White demo of this powerful disco/modern dancer. So much harder on 7 inch than on 12. Record has a few sleeve marks but plays clean.)
Direct Pressure – Let me love you / Love flight – Future Electric / EX / £150 (Now more in-demand than the Hiram & Direct 45 due to the excellent mellow boogie cut “Let me love you” only found here. “Love flight” still sounds great too.)
Percy & Them – Trying to find a new love / Look in the mirror of me eyes – Roulette / EX / £125 (Rare stock copy of this great double header from this great Detroit group. )
Brief Encounter – Shake and move / I want you so much – Sonic / EX/EX / £125 (Highly sought after 2010 release by the group themselves with two previously unissued modern tracks. Was limited to 500 signed copies. Both vinyl and picture sleeve is as new.)
Wee – Stay / I’m all changed – Owl / VG+ / £125 (Two good sides from the Ohio soul veteran Norman Whiteside. “I’m all changed” appeared on their rare album while the flip only appears here. Rare pink label variation.)
Eugene Blacknell – Holding on – Seaside / EX / £125 (Absolutely great pumping modern soul that will put any dancefloor busy. Rare and very in-demand, watch the price soar on this one.)
TR’s Hot Ice – Hot ice – Avi / VG+ / £100 (Powerful and atmospheric disco dancer, such a great production. Record has light marks but plays well. Demo copy.)
Clear featuring Lee Edwards – Equal love opportunity – DT / EX / £100 (Great, charming Detroit indie that was compiled recently and now heavily in-demand.)
Power of Attorney – You got over on me – Nicetown / EX / £70 (Very nice instrumental modern side by this prison group. Who also had an album out on Polydor, and a couple of indie 45’s apart from this one. One being the indemander “Changing man” which came out on the same label as well as one called Brotherhood. Label has stain from removed sticker and small writing.)
Premium – You know you want to be loved – Soulin / EX / £70 (Great version of the Keith Barrow classic. Two steppers delight! Label has a 1cm wide and 4cm wide block that has been colored with a marker.)
Ambition – I’m gonna give you my love / Whisper a love chant – Mercury / EX / £70 (Killer modern dancer backed with even better mellow groove. Demo copy complete with company sleeve.)
Leon Debouse – Every fella’s girl / Getting with my baby – Bold / EX / £50 (Two great never before on 7 inch until this Japanese re-issue 45. Well made with superb sound quality and great looking label, super limited release and since long out of print.)
Prince Phillip Mitchell – One on one – Atlantic / EX / £45 (Super cool looking rush promo-before-promo release. No logo just text. Long and short versions, short label side has small color spill.)
Patterson Twins – Gonna find a true love / Let me be your lover – Commercial/Disk Union / NM/NM / £40 (2014 Japan reissue which was limited to 400 numbered copies. Great looking lokalike label, picture insert as well as plastic bag with original sticker.)
Four Sonics – If it wasn’t for my baby / There’s no love – JMC / EX / £40 (Pretty much amazing modern soul double header which I feel is a bit underrated. Dancer backed with a ballad.)

Ebonys – Do you like the way I love / I’m so glad I’m me – PIR / EX / £35 (Amazing Philly soul dancers. Not on album and only on the rare issue copies. Clean copy complete with company sleeve.)
Earnest Jackson – Reaching out for your love – Royal Shield / EX/EX / £35 (High quality boogie dancer. White label, gold logo version complete with company sleeve.)
Copeland Davis Group – Morning spring / No arms can ever hold you – PDA / NM/NM / £30 (Very nice little reissue bringing us the fantastic Marvin Gaye-ish “Morning spring” on 45 for the first time. Very limited press which sold out in no time. New copy, comes with picture sleeve plus picture inlay.)
Odyssey – Battened ships / Our lives are shaped by what we love – Mowest/Universal / NM/NM / £25 (Brand new Japan reissue that comes in company sleeve, plastic cover with sticker and a lovely looking picture insert with lyrics on the back. The two good tracks off the album together on a 45 for the first time. Limited press but I have not figured out to how many copies but this series are always sold out quickly and only ever available in Japan.)
Arnold Blair – Finally made it home – Triumph / NM/NM £20 (Recent release of previously unissued Curtom side. Recorded at the same session as his classic “Trying to get next to you”. This is the limited first pressing that sold out within days of it’s release.)
Invitations – Look on the good side – Silver Blue / VG+ / £18 (Modern soul evergreen with THE intro from Lew Kirton and his group. Initial on label. Record has light marks but plays well.)
Dee Edwards – (I can) Deal with that – Soul Brother / NM / £12 (Both strings and no strings versions of this 70’s soul evergreen. Apparently a 2016 Record Store release. Solid center one which came individually numbered to 750 copies.)
Dianne Steinberg – One more time – Atlantic / VG+ / £10 (Amazing Hurtt/Bell Philly. Vinyl has a few light marks, plays well overall but a little faint crackle in the start.)
Truth – Touch me / Coming home – Devaki / VG+ / £8 (Fresh as a spring wind modern soul dancer. White label variation. Record has a few light marks, plays well but not perfect with a few very light clicks. “Coming home” label side has stamp.)
Two Tons O’Fun – Taking away your space – Fantasy/Honey / VG+ / £8 (Epic slowie with a two step/mellow groove feel. Record has a few light marks but plays clean.)

Walter Jackson – The walls that separate us / A fool for you – U.S.A. / VG+ / £10 (Just lovely ballad from the ballad master Walter. Flip ain’t bad either. DJ copy complete with stunning looking company sleeve. Small writing on label.)
Jay Player – Love is the answer – Bevnik / EX / £150 (Nice clean minty copy of this classic modern dancer. First press with sunset-over-water label design.)
Chocolate Buttermilk Band – Freaking – CBM / EX/VG+ / £85 (Hard and though boogie slapper. Picture sleeve looks clean but has one slightly bent corner and a beginning lower mid seam split.)
James Mason – I want your love / Nightgruv – Mighty Fine / VG+/EX / £70 (Two deep sides recorded in the 1980’s but unreleased at the time. This is the 1996 first press, was later re-issued by Soul Brother and by Rush Hour. Vinyl has some sleeve marks which are not affecting play.)
Stage Coach – When you left, you did me in / Mystic mood – United Sound / EX / £30 (Epic two stepper that just builds and builds. Flip is decent boogie.)
Directions & Directions Band – Directions – Brunswick / EX/EX / £200 (1975 Brunswick rarity heaving with great album only cuts. With “I want to be your special man”, “She’ll never say it”, “We need love” being the personal standouts. Cover is clean and it comes with original inner sleeve. Only flaw is a scuff on the a-side vinyl which is not affecting play.)
Tony Fox – The beginning – Blaster / EX/EX / £185 (Classic rare soul title including the awesome dancers “Let, let love, and be love” and “I wanna get next to you”. Very nice clean copy!)
Smoke – Risin’ – J. Bridge / EX/EX / £120 (Nice clean copy of this classic rare soul album. Including the dancers “Now you’re gone” and “Have I really lost you” and killer ballads like “Rainy night”.)
Sandra Wright – Wounded woman – Demon / NM/NM / £110 (As new copy of this stunning 1989 release with a mix of previously released and unreleased tracks. With “I come running”, “The sha-la bandit”, “A man can’t be a man”, “Midnight affair” and more – the whole album is a pearl.)

Popcorn Wylie – Extrasensory perception – Abc / EX/EX / £45 (Very nice 1974 album produced by Lamont Dozier on his prime. “How did I lose you” plus “Lost time” is the standouts for me here. Vinyl has a few insignificant sleeve marks, plays great.)
Satisfaction Unlimited – Think of the children – Hot Wax / EX/EX / £40 (Fantastic album
covering different styles of soul. Crossover in “Bright city lights”, two step in “Let’s change the subject” and a dancer with a rare groove touch in “Seeing you in the eyes of a blindman”.)
Spellbinders – The magic of – Columbia / EX/VG+ / £25 (Mono copy of this amazing 1960’s soul album. Vocals are especially fantastic. With “We’re acting like lovers”, “A little on the blue side”, “Chain reaction” and more. Cover has tiny cut out hole and partial upper seam split towards the opening.)
Bobby Taylor – Taylor made soul – Gordy / VG/VG+ / £25 (With the album only cuts “Don’t be afraid” and a stomping version of “Little miss sweetness”. The later being one of my fave Smokey Robinson penned tunes. + “Oh I’ve been blessed” that did get a 45 release as well. Cover has light general wear and cut out hole. Vinyl a few light sleeve marks and a warp/pressing defect. B1 “I just can’t carry on” playback is affected by the pressing and b-side tracks plays with the occasional crackle, nothing big.)
Cesar – Cesar 830 – Flying Dutchman / EX/EX / £18 (Includes the great latin feel soul dancer “See Saw Affair”. Which was around on a quite expensive bootleg a few years back. Cut out saw mark.)
Exportations – Meet the Exportations – United Artists / EX/VG+ / £15 (With the killer LP only track “Fell in love too late”. A dancer for grown ups. Small cut corner and beginning to ring wear on cover.)
Sail – s/t – United Artists / S/S / £12 (Same group as Target and this LP features different takes to their songs “Give me one more chance” and “You’re so beautiful”. Still sealed copy with cut corner.)

The later being one of my fave Smokey Robinson penned tunes. + “Oh I’ve been blessed” that did get a 45 release as well. Cover has light general wear and cut out hole. Vinyl a few light sleeve marks and a warp/pressing defect. B1 “I just can’t carry on” playback is affected by the pressing and b-side tracks plays with the occasional crackle, nothing big.)
