I am having to sell my oldies collection because of lack of funds, but I would love to own once again the 2 records below. I sold both of them more than 25 years ago (lack of funds again) and never got around to replacing them.
HELEN SHAPIRO - Stop and you'll become aware Columbia 8256
GLORIA JONES - Finders Keepers Stateside 555
I've been trying to get both of them on the cheap 'cos I'm not into labels any more and I don't care what condition they are in, as long as they play .(how
do people manage to own a record for 30 years and keep it in "MINT" condition, do they have spares, or never play them or what.)
The problem with me getting cheap copies of the above is that to my
knowledge they haven't been bootlegged,re-issued or pressed in any shape or form. Finders Keepers hasn't even been issued in America.
There must be hundreds of copies of 'STOP', gathering dust in attics all over the country, bought 40 years ago by pop fans of Helen Shapiro, who
was the Yank version of our Dusty Springfield.
Anyway enough rambling. I know it's a tall order but if anyone can help me. I've no cash but have got over 200 records that I haven't sold yet that date back to my Wheel and Torch days, that could be of interest to someone.
Cheers , Priggy from Sheffield derek.prigmore@virgin.net
