After winning a talent contest in Detroit aged 13 Carolyn, already an accomplished songwriter with a stack of original compositions under her belt, spent the early hours of her 14th birthday recording her debut single for Motown, a self penned track called Forget About Me.
Carolyn went on to record as part of the all-girl group Hodges, James, Smith & Crawford and also Hamilton Bohannon and also as a solo artist on Philadelphia International records, Chicago’s Mercury records and latterly Motorcity records.
