BETTYE SWANN: Kiss My Love Goodbye * ATLANTIC, strong VG, 150.- Euro
Light marks only and some crackles and pops here and there, but nothing overpowering the fantastic music on this mindblowing Philly production from the early 70's. Good for DJing as the saying goes...
WILSON PICKETT: Let Me Be Your Boy * VERVE, promo, strong VG+, 100.- Euro

LEE McDONALD: Gotta Get Home / Show Me * DEBBIE, M-, 75.- Euro
Outstanding Modern Soul stepper from 1979. Top side is on the rare LP by Lee McDonald as well, but the 7" provides a different mix compared to the LP-take. Flip it over for a beautiful slow jam.

A legendary record for Richard Searling in the 70's played as a new release on the UK soul scene. Nowadays copies are vanished into collections and don't turn up anymore. This one has mild hairlines and plays like a champ, check the soundbyte for a blast from the past.
THE GASLIGHT: Just Because Of You / It's Just Like Magic * POLYDOR, M-, tiny "x" on label, 75.- Euro
Two great sides back to back on this hard to find major label release. The Gaslight recorded 4 singles, three on the independent Grand Junction label and this is their last one, that former Dramatics manager, Chuck Armstrong, managed to lease to Polydor. All records they released failed without any success, only group member Oliver Cheatham scored a major hit in 1983 with "Get Down Saturday Night". The group was formerly known as Butch & The Newports and was from the Michigan area. Anyway, two great group soul sides, that should appeal to collectors of sweet soul and crossover soul alike.
PATTI JO: Ain't No Love Lost * SCEPTER, VG+, wol 75.- Euro

ANDREW LEWIS BAND: Holding On * RICHMOND, M-, 50. Euro, on hold
Rare local Virginia funky Modern Soul spin, that seems to fly under the radar for way too long. Great uptempo sound and surely a winner for the DJ, who likes to drop something different.
CURT DARIN: Two On A Cloud / Grown Up Fairy Tale * BUDDAH, VG/VG-, wol, 50.- Euro
It's amazing how many fantastic soul tracks where released on Buddah records during the 70's. They must have had an A&R man with great taste. Curt Darin's real name was Curtis Gadson and here he is with two mindblowing midtempo songs. "Two on a Cloud" is a great dancer while the flip offers a superb sophisticated ballad for all these sunday sessions these days. Slightly wounded copy, that plays rather good. Check the soundbytes before ordering!
15 years ago, when Joe Bataan started touring again, he guested in the Mojo Club on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. When he came back on stage for his encores he asked the audience, if there's a particular song, that they want to hear. someone screamed "Johnny" and 10 seconds later the crowd danced to this 1973 funky Latin Soul masterpiece like they never danced before.
This copy unfortunately has a 1cm scratch, right in the middle of the tune, that causes some clicks, nothing to bad and a repair job would fix this easily. Check the soundfile before ordering please!
DEREK MARTIN: Falling Out Of Love * VIBRATION, VG++, 40.- Euro
Sublime piece of 70's eastcoast soul on Sylvia Robinson's All Platinum subsidiary Vibration. A midtempo dancer full of grandeur and so very very soulful. Flipside has a few mild marks and grades VG+, but it's all about "Falling Out Of Love" here and this side is in very nice condition.

LITTLE ARCHIE: I Am A Carpet / I Need You * DIAL, promo, VG++, 25.- Euro
Little Archie, who's real name is Archie Himon, only recoded two 45s for Buddy Killen's Dial output and you urgently need both of them. Maximum Soul with a capital "S" here! The featured uptempo sides wakes up the dead and is a call to the dancefloor, flip it over for some really seriou deep soul business.
THE ARTISTICS: Girl I Need You / Glad I Met You * BRUNSWICK, VG+, wol, 25.- Euro, SOLD

Outstanding good group harmony ballad produced by George Kerr. Why oh why do folks spend hundreds on mediocre ballads as long as great cheapos like this are around?
UNTOUCHABLE MACHINE SHOP: Machine Shop * WAVELENGTH, VG+, 25.- Euro
There are records, that leave a big question mark in my brain. What the f*ck is an "Untouchable Machine Shop"? And how does a name like this can get connected to an extraordinaire free funk track? Anyway, this is a fantastic funk record driven by an unstoppable wah-wah-guitar, heavy beats and raunchy basslines. Clean playing copy with barely noticable surface marks.
MARVIN GAYE: I Want You * TAMLA promo, yellow wax, M-, 25.- Euro
Nice looking and great sounding promo copy of this funky soul masterpiece by Marvin Gaye. An essential record on so many levels with Leon Ware on the controls. Why not go for this eyecatching yellow wax Tamla promo for your collection?
ANN PEEBLES: Somebody'sw On Your Case * HI, Promo, M-, 20.- Euro, SOLD
Extra clean copy of this magnificient slice of Memphs funky soul by the great Ann Peebles. A rather untypical sound for Willie Mitchell's production team, but surely a winner for the DJs out there.
WALES WALLACE: Forever And A Day * DAKAR, promo, VG, 20.- Euro
Great and semi known collectors record on Chicago's groudbreaking Dakar label. This is a great slice of windy city crossover soul and copies are not easy to track down nowadays.
DIAMOND JOE: The ABC Song / Look Way Back * DEESU, promo, M-, 25.- Euro

THE RADIANTS: Hold On * CHESS, M-, drill hole in lbl, 15.- Euro
Excellent uptempo dancer by one of Chicago's finest soul groups - the Radiants. Produced by Charles Stepney, one of these talented guys, who avoided the spotlight, but contributed to the music to the max. BUNNY SIGLER: Don't Stop Doing What You're Doing * NEPTUNE, M-, 10.- Euro
Actually this record is a cover of Dee Irwin's "I Only Get This Feeling" on Imperial (later recorded by Chuck Jackson on ABC) . Gamble & Hufff stole almost everything and never credited Irwin. None the less a nice cheap slice of Philly soul.
CANDI STATON: A Little Taste Of Love * WARNER BROS., VG++, 10.- Euro
Recorded at Muscle Shoals and Fame Recordiung Studios, produced by Rick Hall and written by George Jackson. What do you expect other than a masterpiece?
THE BOOGIEMAN ORCHESTRA: (Theme From) Lady, Lady, Lady (Are You Crazy For Me?) * BOOGIE MAN RECORDS; VG+, 8.- Euro, on hold
For the grand finale of the list some Mecca magic, dropped by Colin Curtis and Ian Levine as a new release and still sounds absolutely amazing to my ears. These two DJs where so much above their time, that looking back seems like a sci-fi-movie, if that makes any sense.
