ALPHABETICAL BY LABEL
Mel Williams “Can It Be Me / Part 2” (Astranaut) VG- £50 Rare & obscure earlier version of the tune on Modern. (Vocal side plays well, hear it in full. The instrumental is a bit messy, again it’s recorded all the way through. Ringwear)
Bettye Swann “When The Game Is Played On You” (Atlantic) VG++/VG+ £125 Classic dancer. (Main side is VG++. The flip has juke marks not affecting play and a thin white line on the label. Original vinyl issue, not styrene – this is the PL version, which isn’t on discogs)
The Street People Incorporated “Someday We’ll Be Together / The Hurt’s On Me Baby” (Chanson) VG £250 Extremely obscure funky soul dancer, with a solid funk side. (WOL & very slight warp not affecting play)
Lee Moses “Never In My Life / If Loving You Is A Crime” (Dynamo) M- £160 Funk scorcher, ballad flip. See below for more from Lee Moses. (Vinyl pressing, not styrene – a very clean copy)
The Gospel Echoes “If You Ever Needed The Lord / God Won’t Change” (Echoes) VG+ £350 Potentially a storming club spin here (ballad on the flip). A really tough one, hardly ever sold. (Tiny pen smudge on featured side.)
Dee Dee Sharp “The Bottle Or Me / You’re Gonna Miss Me (When I’m Gone)” (Gamble) VG+ £35 Fantastic dark funky soul dancer (deep flip). (Looks close to M- / slight dish only visible when deep side is playing. Photos look a bit like this might be styrene, but it's actually vinyl)
Larry Williams “Strange / Call On Me” (L&W) VG++ £275 The extremely rare original US pressing, in lovely clean condition.
Lee Moses “Diana (From N.Y.C.) / My Adorable One” (Lee John) VG++ £80 Gritty 60s soul with deep flip. (Very clean disc, with a patch of faint label wear on deep side)
Little Willie Jones “That Was My Big Mistake / Nitty Gritty Music” (Power) VG £850 Storming & rare funky northern spin. (Promo stamp, label staining, wol; slight warp only visible when Nitty Gritty Music side is playing)
Quantrells “Can’t Let You Break My Heart / Show Me The Game Of Love” (Yambo) VG+ £375 Killer sweet soul, uptempo funky soul flip. (Labels reversed. Looks reasonably clean, but has some intro noise which apparently is common to this pressing. Also has tiny warp not affecting play)
