Creating And Distributing Compilations

Has anybody on this forum gone through the process of acquiring a license for certain tracks and distributing a soul compilation??? Just a thought cos the knowledge and wealth of music posted on this sight could be used for such purposes.

I buy a lot of soul comps on cd and i am normally dissapointed, but five minutes on this forum i find unbelievable tunes...only downside is obviously the audio quality.
