Posted January 2, 200421 yr Has the world of record collecting gone mad? On John Manships auction site on 30/12/2003 a "British" Tamla Motown demo copy was sold for, a wait for it £405.This must surely be a record!
January 6, 200421 yr Scary thing is, its not one person willing to pay that, some one else must have pushed the price up...
January 6, 200421 yr I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT MATE AS I AM SURE IT STARTED AT ABOUT £60 OR EVEN LESS. - STARTING PRICE IS ABOUT FAIR !
January 7, 200421 yr Must be worth something to somebody. After all it is a British Tamla Motown original demo - albeit released about 20 years too late. Was it a red/white big 'A' demo like the 60s releases?
January 7, 200421 yr No! Looks like a normal 1979 issue with Demo Record Not For Sale acoss the pushout middle
January 8, 200421 yr Well that makes it even more ridiculous - buying a demo that doesn't even have the aesthetic appeal of a demo! Should have saved up their money and bought a U.S. original - which reminds me, any new rumours about people finding numerous copies in the States? Or is Kenny Burrell's investment okay for now?!
