What would be the average release quotas for soul 12" & 7inch releases?
Major labels obviously have more funds,so are able give more away as demos & release to the buying public if the sound takes of, but would independents target certain dj`s & radio stations & then decide on numbers to be released according to demand or just run of a pre decided number.
The question came to me as i buy soulful house[12`s] & knowing vinyl is expensive & in the age of mp3 & cd it must be a cost concern to labels. There`s still lots of independent record labels in the states & Europe & a lot of vinyl is still being released but how does it compare to the hay days.
I`m talking about yester year & today.
