My wife is from Dublin and when ever we go for a visit thats the option i take

Once spent 4.5 hrs at a bar with and old boy I'd meet whilst the wife and motherinlaw were shopping, meet them totally pie eyed, and honestly understood about 3 words from the old boy in the whole time - we seemed to get on great though.

Certianly would bother lookin for records....

Just take a wander up & down O'Connell street, in fact theres a fantastic bar about halfway up on the right but the name escapes me...nothing to do with drinking too much!

Start off in the Morgan Hotel, by the river and near the half penny bridge...bar plays some really nice music at a decent level. Nice atmosphere when we stayed there recently. We would stay there again just for the music policy~beats the crap out of your normal elevator background noise.
