I will update this with some descriptions later and some more pics when I suss out how to reduce the file size of my scans couldn't possibly do that - there are files and files of it!.. I'd crash the site!. A friend of mine still has her membership card to the Twisted Wheel, that's pretty cool. Jayne.x.
June 2, 200817 yr Excellent!! I remember going to the 16 hr day/nighter......bloody brilliant..... the unmistakable sound of The Temps "Papa was a rolling stone" blasting out from behind the curtain and when it was finally drawn everyone realised it was actually The Real Thing......also saw them at the torch earlier the same year. How good were they before they were famous?
June 3, 200817 yr Finally got round to scanning a few odds and sods of mine from the loft. I know we all have memorabilia, here is mine, please add yours! I will update this with some descriptions later I've still got some of the International Soul Club stuff. Major Lance at the Top Rank Hanley - I'd forgotten I saw the Real Thing there though (I saw them at least four or five times.) The first time I heard Laura Greene's "Moonlight Music and You" and Chubby Checker's "Looking At Tomorrow" was at the Top Rank I think. Maybe "Sidra's Theme" too. Edited June 3, 200817 yr by mel brat
June 3, 200817 yr The Queens Hall flyer is the official A5 flyer, can't be many of those around. I have the BIG poster as well (worth £200 + these days) The Casino poster is A3 but my scanner is A4, hence the two parts. Think I nicked this in 74 but can't be sure. Have other stuff somewhere. The Dunhelm All Dayer was great, living in Newton Aycliife, I was lucky, we had lots of venues to go to, some great memories Edited June 3, 200817 yr by jim g
