Hi Everybody

I am testing functionality with regards to MP3 aggregation and distribution to download stores around the word in preparation for the release of my Detroit recordings. The track I am using as a test case is called "Don't tell your mama" by CDO. It is a modern instrumental funky style track just over 5 mins long. It has been played on the radio once in the UK, but that was a demo version. This version has some improvements here and there. With this test I am investigating how a press release to radio stations will influence them to at least appraise the track for possible air play in the future. I have nearly completed a press release and once the track has appeared in iTunes, I will distribute it. In the meantime, the track is already available in Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Rhapsody, Lala and Amie Street stores. This is the first test I have done that will feature a registered PRS/PPL composition. In addition the track is registered with the Washington Copyright office. This is to ensure that if air play or sales is achieved, I can account for royalties correctly, especially when it comes to my Detroit material. No matter how much money is invested in a recording, it is the DJ who will portal the song to the public, even in this day and age. They are the conduit to the ears of the buying population who would invest in the recording, and by doing so, allow royalties to go back to the labels and producers to invest in more new material. Of course, if anybody wanted to do the right thing and buy the track, I would be very happy. I will report back the progress the track makes through this test etc.

Hi everybody -

The track is now available in iTunes. It took just under a week for Amazon.com/co.uk and 3 weeks to get the track in iTunes. I still do not have any statistics about views/listens/sales yet. I will be doing a press release soon!
