Hi people

i watchwed the motown thing on bbc2 last night ,they seemed to be playing all motown trcks in the background includng jazzy instrumentals off the choker campbell album ,but there was one track female vocal quite gritty for motown ,backing singers kept singing is it true ?

anyone have a clue ?
