Yes they're the same guy. The Independants had an album called Chuck, Helen, Eric, Maurice released in 1973. On this album there's a version of "Lucky Fellow". I think the version on the album is far better than the one released on single by Maurice. The single was released twice on Candlelite and Lakeside.
