Good idea here is another angle!! Someone should put up a big tune, once the sweep reaches the price off the record then the rest goes to charity and the winner get a nice record money held in a pay pal account. Kinda make it interesting!!!!!

I always mind whilst running a soul night with Kenny in Edinburgh. Anyway Kenny stayed in Fife and got caught short on his way home. and stopped at a closed down petol station. Got back in the car and when he got home, his full box of records where gone and if I mind right Frank Wilson was in there. Anyway he phoned another friend they met and searched and found the box in the bushes ready for collecting by the passer buy who lifted them out of the car. Bet the guy wished he had carried them straight home!!

Now £175 fo the lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If 4/5 people involved it would be so much easier, I used to do it on my own but when working away for 6 weeks at a time very hard. Ok someone to book djs. Keep in touch with the venue. Flyers made passed out to people to give out. Put adds on sites and radios shows. One person taking bookings. Book sounde systems. All the above I could do when I am home for 3 weeks. On the night get someone, Weekender deal with passes, Allnighter take tickets money on door. Security. Check djs change over. Again if shared less to do, why don't you come on board?

Understand your views I also ran the one you mention above, venue double booked and had to move things around. Also if I may add was left well out of pocket.(unlike what people say big venues, big nights, top djs£££££'s) If it was a Weekender would be looking at later in the year, lots of adds on here and radio shows. Weekend passes would be the first sold and with the right line up then hope that a lot of our friends from over the border would make the journey. But without anyone else comming on board neither Weekender or Allnighter is going to happen. I have even suggested monies go to charity, all clubs in the central belt get behind it and could do a nighter and a weekender every year.

Ok read some of the threads and very interesting. A few years back I had a run of bad luck and was about to lose house and all I had. The fastest way to raise money was records, looking at them sitting in boxes and never playing them regular, so I sold them and cleared of arrears and debts, but the hardest part was not wanting to go somewhere and hear the records getting played and saying I had that, I am now on my feet and about to go and work over seas and have started to buy again but I am looking more at when I die hope to be comfortable and any records will go to my youngest daughter who is only 3 just now. Then they will always be there for her to sell if she ever needs money some day. Ok done a search and found this, ok its books but small printed items all have been re-printed and re-printed but always a collectors item. Jolly and Shaz are happy with what they have got. Its not the running the event as I have as mentioned ran Allnighters on this scale in the past but I am about to start working in Libya and away for 6 weeks at a time and home for 3. So need some help as mentioned the best way would be other Djs that way takes down the Dj bill and leaves money for top guest djs.
