Thanks to everyone who put me right on this. I knew it was a 'better' version and only available on the UK release, that's why I wanted it! but wasn't aware it was as pricey as that. Up to £75 has been mentioned even, I'll keep on hoping to turn one up then.

Yes it was on the balcony of Queens Arcade. It originally was in the Merrion Centre at the back of a camera shop, then moved to the balcony of the arcade. then moved to a ground floor arcade at the back of the Merion Centre before finally settling in its present situation on the balcony of the St Johns Centre. From its early days, it was a source of soul vinyl for everybody in the Leeds area, along with Bostocks for a short while. Watson T Brown!! first heard that at VaVa one night

The main point you are totally ignoring is that despite what you say, nobody has supported you in any way. Any other people who have joined this thread have done so to add their memories of the Metro and they all agree with me. Ask yourself why??? Why is everybody wrong ? Surely even you must see that we all cant be making it up !

I know !! its really mad isnt it. All anybody has to do is read the thread from the beginning and it all opens out in front of them. I innocently mentioned right at the start that I been talking to Paul Rowan and mentioned he'd "dj'd" at the Metro. From that point onwards everything I said about the Metro was rubbished by Soash! I didnt have an agenda, have no interest in making him look bad or insignificant. In fact I only remember his name, couldnt tell him from Adam!! Also I was looking forward to going again until this happened. I just joined the Metro thread because I'd been and liked it. Since that everybody who has posted on the thread has supported what I said. I have not prompted them or organised a witchhunt against Soash. At no point have I personally insulted or slagged him off. I was about to leave the thread and say no more, until he started attacking me personally, as well as all the other "liars" on here. I'm gobsmacked.

Yes it does say that and I corrected the guy who released that flyer. His knowledge of the early years is owed to what people such as myself and Roy etc tell him. I gave him info and he mistakenly put 1969 when in truth it was in existence throughout the 60's as a ballroom dancing club and a teddy boy/rocker haunt, before, as I stated earlier, changing to a Soul/Mod hang out around 68 following a few Mod v Rocker battles in and around the place . Thats why I know the date so well Soash, I was involved so I KNOW thats when it happened. Surely you are not using that flyer as your proof of the Central opening in 1969!! Its important to note that during all this discussion, nobody has come on here and supported your claims mate. To be honest though, in all this, its not whether you or I were correct in our recollections, but that you seemed intent on insisting because mine were different to yours , then I was a pretender and some sort of wannabee! A slurr you are still hinting of when you say "the REAL old times", thats what really pissed me off! Roy hit it on the head when he stated that they are just rcollections and everybodys are different. If you were looking from the entrance end, you would only have seen a small number of tables pushed up against the left hand side wall, and a clear dance floor to the right (I remember having to shift all the bloody things!" I would suggest that your history is just that, Soash YOUR history. I have come to the conclusion that maybe you have become a bit of a legend in your own mind mate. Pity really because the Metro wasnt a bad little club for a few fleeting moments..
