I still have Miracles demo,with WBOB 11743 sticker.
From slightly hazy memory a lot of these turned up in a shop off Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem. Can't remember owners' names but husband and wife. Jim and Mary perhaps ?
First saw them in 1988 but obviously there before that as though I got some Northern had feeling been picked through by local dealers and collectors. In fact got more WBOB 45S a few years later out of local guy's collection.
Asked owners re source at the time. I think it was Eden, N.C. but here I'm struggling. He may have said off a flea market rather than direct from radio station. Think I had a tele # but no reply. Either there was a station around there or more likely IMO that out of Galax ?
Roburt, I don't think changes in format are much of a guide as to what a library might hold. Alex Jones and I had a reasonable hit at a white gospel/religious waffle station in Georgia [I think]. Remember deal quite well as owner/manager got on to discussing creationism with me and having got on to Bishop Usher I thankfully had the wit to not challenge his ramblings. Coupled with Alex turning pale and looking anxious. I didn't want to screw the deal. In fact for the Little Ritchie and around 70 others I was quite prepared for Alex to pop down to nearest river and embrace Jesus !

Makes sense given that Eden and Galax are only a spit from each other. I suppose it depends on how much research labels did when sending out promo copies, or did some just send to every radio station regardless of format ?.

Over $1000 and it hasn't even finished yet, surely this can't be worth anywhere near this amount, its not even mint (vg).

Just had a complaint from a buyer that the record I sold him had a drill/BB hole. No complaint re condition M- etc.
I don't know about others but I never mention drill/BB hole when grading as they are present probably 50% of the time. I've never really considered them as an issue when it comes to grading a record. What does the panel think ?

Well and truly under played tune, I've been trying to get people to play this for donkeys yonks.
As for the price I've knocked 'em out for £40 regularly, its not that easy in mint..
Merry Xmas Ivor and everybody else.

Just read something that states Soul Improvisations;
Part 1 came out on BDA 297 as the flipside but only on the ISSUES.
Part 2 came out on BDA 310 as the flip side but only on the ISSUES.
In all the years I've been on the scene, I have never seen either of these two records as ISSUE copies therefore never seen part 1 or 2 on a 45 except the UK issue. Anybody ever seen the issues, if so how rare are they ?. I remember Ian playing it at the Mecca but was it from the album or on a 45.

We will have northern soul tribute nights next, where the DJ's pretend to be the real thing using cheap imitation props and the assembled multitudes dress up in nostalgic costumes and try to behave like teenagers..... oh hang on a minute

On Discog, if a buyer gives me good feedback I return the compliment, but in any case after a month, I assume that if I haven't heard from them they are happy, and I give good feedback. Of course you get people who wait till you've given them positive feedback then put the boot in, having not communicated dissatisfaction previously!
I just contact Discogs in that situation, tell them the feedback is unfair/unwarrented and they usually just remove it.
