PM any questions or to reserve. Coasters – Crazy baby – Atco 6379 M- £300 (Perfect Northern outing from this traditionally doo-wop / rock and roll group, proving its quite often the case that big artists catalogues include at least one release with Northern appeal. Smashing stock copy) Earl Jackson – Soul self satisfaction – ABC 11142 WD M- £750 SOLD (Same comments as JT Rhythm sold previously, how likely are you to find an immaculate copy in 2019, and the flip “Looking through the eyes of love” is ripe for pushing for the shufflers. Conservative grading!) Jeanette Williams – Something’s got on me hold on me – Back Beat 587 Ex+ £300 (Off the top of my head I can’t think of many girls from Texas that had a label run like JW did, great frenetic up-tempo dancer) Ray Marchand – Your ship of fools – Dore 763 Vg++ £550 (Always been a rare label number, and what a track, it is a really good player even though the vinyl has some marks, the lead in has some pops, a couple further through the play surface, but nothing to overwhelm and enjoyable audio experience. 8. Relisting this beauty at a significantly reduced price to cater for the emergence of a nice want!. Toni Ross – Hurry back – Har-Town 002 M- £1350 “Guy Hennigan” is linked to this rarity I’m selling. Seems like the Stafford crowd were blessed with at least one visionary, bringing rare soul of the highest order to the venue and its hardy followers. Toni Ross low numbers ever landed on these shores, It’s a fantastic slab of accomplished femme soul that Mr. Manship described in a long past auction pitch as “like Terry Goodnight (Phelectron)” and “sitting, almost, up alongside Sandy Golden (Masterpiece)”. High praise indeed from the soul Bard himself. This Californian release does nothing to stave off my crave for knowing more about the artist or its origins, but alas obscurity shrouds yet another Northern 45 and its artist. I know 2 copies sold for much more earlier this year, but as a nice want beckons I can't chase the ghost so must aim for a quick sale. Content with PayPal by friends or add 4% or bank transfer. Fully insured postage included. Cheers, Lee Toni Ross - Hurry back.mp3
  9. 25+ doubles, majority on white label promos with a splash of colour from stockers. My advice is not to ignore these Motor City gems, but to take the time to remind yourself of the sheer brilliance of Hitsville USA, captured in this relatively short but juicy list of tracks. Universally the most aired Soul output for most of the 60’s. Some show signs of use, mainly with writing on labels, others immaculate, but all play well enough to sell. Conservatively graded. As ever sound files available on request, PM to ask any questions or reserve. All WHITE DEMOs unless stated 1) Martha & Vandellas – Heat wave – Gordy 7022 Ex £30 2) Kim Weston – A thrill a moment – Gordy 7041 Vg+ £75 3) Temptations – Beauty is only skin deep / same – Gordy 7055 M- £30 2 X on flip 4) Temptations – I could never love another (after losing your love) / same – Gordy 7072 M- £20 5) Eddie Holland – I’m on the outside looking in – Motown 1049 M- £150 6) Mary Wells – My guy / Oh little boy – Motown 1056 Vg+ £5 7) Eddie Holland – Just ain’t enough love – Motown 1058 Vg++ £60 Pure magic, backed by the wonderful Andantes, 2 xol and promotion stamp on flip “This is Hot!!” 8) Four Tops – Without the one you love / Love has gone – Motown 1069 M- £30 Superb flip, date stamp on label 9) Four Tops – Your love is amazing / It’s the same old song – Motown 1081 M- £30 Distributor stamp and title circled in pen on “Same old” 10) Spinners – Truly yours – Motown 1093 M- £20 Stock copy map design, the version to have 11) Supremes – Love is like an itching in my heart – Motown 1094 £30 12) Four Tops – Loving you is sweeter than ever / same – Motown 1096 M- £25 13) Four Tops – Walk away Renee – Motown 1119 M- £30 14) Tammi Terrell – This old heart of mine / same – Motown 1138 Vg+ £10 Top side plays fine, flip more marks 15) Velvelettes – These things will keep me loving you – Soul 35025 M- £35 Purple swirl stock copy 16) Jimmy Ruffin – I’ve passed this way before – Soul 35027 M- £12 Purple swirl stock copy 17) Jimmy Ruffin – Farewell is a lonely sound – Soul 35060 M- £20 Red vinyl, another rock solid mid-tempo delight 18) Miracles – I’ll try something new – Tamla 54049 M- £15 Xol, yellow twin globes stock copy 19) Stevie Wonder – Fingertips – Tamla 54080 M- £10 Yellow twin globes stock copy, styrene, west coast but no delta number? 20) Miracles – Tracks of my tears / A fork in the road – Tamla 54118 Vg+ £30 Much rarer West Coast release, with Jobete’s “Quality Control” stamp and reference to Monarch pressing date of 24 Jun 65, nice provenance! 21) Miracles – Going to a go-go / Choosey beggar – Tamla 54127 Ex £25 Catalogue number and 2 X on top label, flip clean 22) Smokey Robinson & Miracles – I second that emotion – Tamla 54159 M- £25 23) Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Two can have a party / You’re all I need to get by – Tamla 54169169 M- dh £12 Stock copy of this totally infectious dancer, that never got pressed on demo and was used in last seasons advert for “Strictly Come Dancing” 24) Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – You’re all I need to get by / Same – Tamla 54169 M- dh £25 Date on label, same flip 25) Velvelettes – Lonely lonely girl am I – V.I.P. 25017 Ex+ £175 Awesome and a very hard demo, 2 light smudges that don't affect play 26) Velvelettes – A bird in the hand (is worth two in the bush) – V.I.P. 25030 Vg+ £50 All the Velvelettes are hard to find on demo, especially this one, plays better than the Vg+ look 27) Debbie Dean – Why am I loving you baby / Same – V.I.P. 25044 M- £100 Beautiful copy PayPal as friends or add 4% please Postage: £1.25 – 1st Class (covers to £50 £2.50 - 1st Class Signed For (covers to £50) £7.50 - Special Delivery (Fully insured over £50) Overseas on Request Cheers, Lee

  13. Offering this top tune up separately from other sales to apply more detail to condition. JoAnn Courcy – I got the power – Twirl 2026 WD Vg+ £900 Punchy femme soul monster, always been hard to pin down, a real stayer in boxes. This copy has some minor issues, top label is off-centre with a split and damp wear, see the photos. Surface has some visible scuffs and light scratches, but nothing interferes with the loud and proud playback other than the expected pops, so visually Vg+, but plays much better at Ex-/Ex, hear the sound file. I see Steve Wileman let one go in Vg+ for 1200 a few months ago, and the more recent sales float around the 1000-1100 mark. https://www.ecommerceplayer.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?id=511540a8-4fcd-4803-b63e-d8cbb0502485 Postage included. 19. Just the one in this post! Toni Ross – Hurry back – Har-Town 002 M- OFFERS Once again, the name “Guy Hennigan” is linked to yet another rarity I’m selling. Seems like the Stafford crowd were blessed with at least one visionary, bringing rare soul of the highest order to the venue and its hardy followers. By way of example the “Sisters 3 on Mustang” that I sold last year, championed by Guy, proved to be a forgotten track that has stood the test of time, not turning up in any quantity at all. Such is the current fixation with nabbing oldies and the ever-rising price tag that goes with them that only the inquisitive or astute took the time to chance it a second glance or listen to the sound files that mark its greatness. In my opinion, an opportunity missed for many aspiring DJs and a bargain for the lucky winner. Toni Ross is in the same mould, unbelievably rare with only a few known copies ever landed on these shores, half of which are worse for wear, AND it’s a fantastic slab of accomplished femme soul that Mr. Manship described in a long past auction pitch as “like Terry Goodnight (Phelectron)” and “sitting, almost, up alongside Sandy Golden (Masterpiece)”. High praise indeed from the soul Bard himself, an accolade that is in danger of being overlooked and underplayed like the “Sisters 3”, and what a disaster that would be. This Californian release does nothing to stave off my crave for knowing more about the artist or its origins, and for a start I can’t work out what town Har-Town is, and that’s only part of it, type in Outerlimits Dickens Productions Inc. and you get the obvious search engine knock back with references to the barmy 60s Sci-Fi show with alarming characters like the “Guests” and “Invisible Enemy”, or even worse, that sickly Oliver Twist hungrily asking “please sir may I have some more”. Well you can Olly, but it’s gonna be Toni Ross – Hurry back being spooned in by the gallon, so hold on to your breeches and get your dancing shoes on, this is the real deal, a truly rare and superior girl group dancer that epitomises everything we should cherish about 45s that sit at the apex of the wealth of soul at our disposal. Minimum Offer £1800, letting this run until 8pm on Monday 5th August. Content with PayPal by friends or add 4% or bank transfer. Fully insured postage included. Cheers, Lee Toni Ross - Hurry back.mp3
