  1. Suggest you stop right there before you really alienate yourself
  2. I hope this makes you smile. Couple of years back I had my car broken into & lost all my cds (amongst other things) Guys at work were less than supportive - "Col, when they find out what a crock of shite they've stolen they'l dump it at the top of the road." 2 hours later I received a call frpm the police "Mr. Smith, good news we've found you're CDs".... you guess where they were dumped?
  3. My mate Rids left his record box upstairs at the coffee shop opp 100 club, whilst we all retreated downstairs to the basement. Not too sure who recovered it - maybe JT, if not his mates. Take a bow. Cheers col
  4. 117 to Staines? or 441 to Windsor? Sorry, thats an Egham joke Col
  5. Personally I think we should have an age limit of 65. Health & Safety & all that.
  6. My next thread was going to be called:- "What did you lot eat in the 70's?" But now I already know.
  7. Lacoste - late 70s. Binned 'em early 80s when they became popular.
  8. Interesting one this, obviously very personal. Mark, are you a first generation mod, or part of the 85 lot? Col.
  9. What clothing labels do you associate with northern soul? For me it was: Adidas for Ts & allniter bags, Spencers for trousers. Got into a good argument sat nite (imagine that!) with a couple of people who equated Wranglers & Lee Riders with northern soul. I don't remember that at all. And told them so Col.
  10. Richard, bit concerned about your signature - "omnivorous" - doesn't that mean that you're a bit partial to eating both animals and vegetables? Are you saying that you like a good roast dinner? Col.
  11. Not sure that I've heard of that one. Memory like a goldfish. Got an mp3? Col.
  12. Hi Al Yes you are spot on! No excuse for anybody to play YOU DONT MEAN IT when they could be playing WEAR YOUR NATURAL BABY. Col Doubt that I'll get over to the Soul Mine saturday as doing an all-dayer. Def be in following week
  13. Ref Bruce Cloud, just heard his version of "Just Walk In My Shoes" Is that what you're referring to - or are there others tracks I need to here? Col.
  14. Yep, took me a while to get it. Velvet Satins almost impossible to dance to along with a Stevie Wonder track that escapes me at the moment.
  15. Rules - Gil Banding So soulful. Its also the story of my life.........so far. Col
  16. Assume Cool Edit Pro is some sort of application? Col.
  17. "Instrumentals were never played at Wigan" Personally I'd like to re-write history, so that it never happened. And if enough other people join me on this personal crusade I think we can make it so. After all history is constantly evolving & is often re-written by the winners. In this case it would be rewritten by the winners of the argument. So far I've now convinced myself that the only people who really beleive that we played instrumentals at Wigan are dinosaurs. I can tell you 2 (or maybe 3) things about dinosaurs. 1. They either died or evolved. 2. They never one any arguments. Col
  18. Totally agree. "Right-Wing Soulies" - will avoid associating with people outside their sect. "Right-Wing Soulies" - will avoid meeting anybody not appropriately dressed for the evening. "Right-Wing Soulies" - would rather stay at home & brush up their knowledge of rare soul, rather than go out & have a good time listening to soul. The paradox here is that politically they tend to be bleeding heart liberals. Col.
  19. Hey thats's me! Col. Thought for the day: Just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean people aren't talking about you.
  20. Just noticed above. And since you ask: 1. Label print is 1 colour & looks like it was created with letraset. 2. Production sounds flat. Col. Both copies also turned up warped. But I didn't buy them from Soul Bros, so I'm not moaning about them. In fact I'm not even moaning.
  21. Just a small point Mark, you're starting to repeat yourself. Col
  22. That's the one! Awesome track. Cheers. Col.
