  1. Ok thanks as I suspected. Should have done my homework. I'll stick it back on the bay as it won't do any favours for me with the wife.
  2. run out has "PHI- DAN 5000A" then "1026 47" I think
  3. All the copies on popsike have coloured labels except one. And that one was the cheapest. I got this for the wife off the bay last week (£15) as this is "one of her favourites" The one I got is the same non-coloured label as the one on popsike. The 15 quid question is: boot or not? Thanks https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...p;x=13&y=10
  4. This one sold on the bay a couple of weeks ago £192 - great record https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=230299465894
  5. Without looking up the details I'm sure he said "last copy" " definitley no more" "honest guv" etc or words similar Perhaps Lester's "niece" has turned up a few copies from her aunts The end of the "rare soul" scene?

  11. Ok boot it is then. I just read the words in the ad and got carried away in the haste to post on here! Even so Ian, £42 for a boot amazes me but I suppose I shouldn't be. And yes mine is a boot too. That clears that up then
  12. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170268301013 I am amazed how much 2nd issues fetch these days. I bought this around 1976 as a second issue for £1. I have not played it for nigh on 20 years at least. Mint minus I would say just having a look at it. I have just got back into record collecting with a vengance so perhaps this is the norm for a record as good as this, even on a re-issue?
  13. minter, unmarked, demo, original? Send me message please...I'm interested if they are as above. I gotta go bed now. cheers
  14. I missed out on this tonight on ebay. My computer at the last few seconds froze and said NOOOOOOOO. Unmarked demo copy went for £10.50. Anyone got a spare copy they wanna offload in a similar condition? The ones left on ebay have no scans or have felt tip marks on the label. Ta in advance.
  15. This record defined the main ballroom at Wigan at its finest. A truly awesome sound, thumping beat, tortured vocals, great break. Breathtaking soul. This set the standard for me. One of my all time favourites. By the way did I say I liked it ?
  16. Ian, speaking of records. I am from Blackpool and still live here. In my youth I used to go in Sinfonia record shop on Cookson Street. A great soul place run by Sandy Mountain and his sister, Freda. Sandy was the soul guru after you and his shop was full of soul as was his house on Lytham Road. Went there one day and it was rammed with un-played soul. Is Sandy/Freda still around? It must be 15 years since I saw Sandy Cheers
  17. Yes I realised that when I first created my name on here. It's a name I carried across from a football forum - for my sins I'm a Blackpool fan (seasider) hence the name. Anyway, I would never copy an original - hanging offence on here from what I've read
  18. " Kinnell, if people dance to it, who cares what label it's on? " This wins "The most profound statement of the week" contest
  19. How do Ged.. I just joined the forum a few days ago. Just having a mooch around and spotted you. I lived at the back of you for a few years before I moved last year. Need any more clues?
