I always thought it came out twice, one with 'I Need Your Love' and another with the other flip ('I've Got To Find...').
As far as I am aware, 'I Need Your Love' is a better side than 'I've Got To Find...'
Think John Manship just made an error in his sound file.
It's only what I've heard though, so not 100%.
Don't know if came out twice.... thought it was just a case of different flip on the demo and issue....
JM lists "I've Gotta Find Out For Myself" as the flip on the issue and "Need Your Love" as the flip on the demo.... just assumed this was a typing error in the guide as I have the issue which has "Need Your Love" as the flip....

Come on guys, you're looking in the wrong place. You've answered the question yourself really, they started out as The Gypsies, so that the discog you should be looking for, and guess what.....................There's one HERE
Ah.... but Dave.... should you not have created a Flirtations discography under, er, F.... instead of adding it all under Gypsies which is, er, G.... hence me not looking at the bleeding obvious finding the list
....
That's my excuse anyway

Yes there has to be a plot but does romance have to be the central theme? I'm not saying boyfriends and girlfriends didn't go, what I'm saying is romance should be way down the list and definately not the central theme for a film about the northern soul scene of the seventies.
I just read all this as a film about "love/romance in 74" set against the "backdrop" (excuse the pun
) of the Northern Soul scene and it's music which was of that time.... it's not a Northern Soul film per se but just a film with Northern Soul in it IMO....
The use of the "Souled Out" title used to reflect the "choice" of the musical genre used within it is probably a clever marketing ploy to give it "appeal" to the NS fraternity.... hence all this debate and questioning on here....
Irrespective of all that I do agree that if using NS as a "musical background" to the story then it should use original material throughout it to justify it's marketing....
Just my thoughts

The new venue could well be offering something different from the likes of some of the venues you listed. Most of the venues in the East Midlands don't offer something "different", very rarely straying from the same old oldies. that's why I always travelled to get my fix when I lived in Chesterfield. There's probably only the Attic that would get me to travel back to the east midlands right now.
What topic and whose venue are you referring to?
> this one < here I think Chalky....
As Sharon said.... getting beyond "overkill" around those parts and surrounding areas.... an observation I've noticed about the Midlands also, East and West....
Goole now Sean, but I will get down to your local sometime in the futureAt least your back on the right side of the border now pal
.... welcome "home"

Just got this recently and am a bit confused cause all the ones I've seen listed are on Soultown 106but the one i have is Soultown 108 can someone enlighten me, was it released twice ? if so are they of the same value
(whatever that may be) Think I paid about 8 quid for it
Cheers
Swifty
Both releases have the same "b" side if that's what's throwing you....
Soultown 106 - Little Helen - More And More b/w What About Me Boy
Soultown 108 - Little Helen - Can't Get Enough b/w What About Me Boy
Presume the official A side, What About Me Boy, was released twice with different flips....

Ok...sorted out Willie Hutch...and Otis is in the pipeline...still looking for Fred Hughes below the book price...also have a new want though no idea on value...Sam Dees - Lonely for you baby
Sam Dees.... another that fetches £300-500 depending on where you look, who's selling or "time of the year" Beeks....
Rewrite it where ever you've rewritten your Jeanette type of want

Mike
will you move it to events talk when it happens please?
Cheers Mand
Mandy....
When it happens you'd be better starting a new thread saying so....
I think moving this thread means folk will have to scroll through all these previous posts to "find it's actually happening" rather than "checking out" a new thread stating the occuring event and all the info with it....
So you don't miss interested parties....
Just a thought like....

Ive put up a few Soul / House cdsOne of them was ST Germain - Tourist - Ive played only a few times because I was also given one as apresent so decided to sell the spare.
I checked it before it went off infact I played it while I was packing all the other bits.
Anyhow it reached the prize sum of 99p and £1.50 postage - I packed it in a record mailer and sent off Yesterday.
Today I got this message:
Hello,
Item received today and I'm afraid to say I'm very disappointed with its condition, in fact appaled that you would try and sell something like this. I needn't have bothered trying to play it at all!
In light of this I hope for you to replace the item free of charge or give me a full refund. I will not waste my own money posting it back to you, especially to see it probably appear back on here again. If you wish I can send photos to prove the condition.
Please respond immediately as I will not hesitate to raise a dispute over this for the sheer principle alone.
Yours sincerely,
Joy
I know we all make mistakes but I didnt on this one-
I have taken up her offer of the photos and asked for a photo of the packaging as well.
Ive asked her to send it back & Ill refund her total and all the postage. But as you can see she is not willing!
What should I do -
This is probably an early example of the "sellers dilemma" now on ebay.... buyers can "almost demand" money back for items received stating " such as above".... sellers are almost compelled to respond to the buyer's demands so that no "negative" is received with the assured confidence that the seller can't respond with a "negative"....
Absolut b*ll*x to the sellers.... a "god's gift" to the buyers.... what I mean is a buyer receives the item then "makes out" that it is shoddy in some way and so wants a refund.... and the refund involves a "free" replacement or a "full refund" with them keeping" the item thus having the same outcome.... bid, complain and get for free....
F*ck asking for photos because the buyer can manipulate the packaging and probably also "doctor" the item in any photo programme....
You've done the right thing.... f*ck them off and offer a full refund including return postage costs upfront.... then sit back and wait for "excuse" not to do so but still want full refund with no return of item....
To me that sort of reply means you have now "got them".... the next question would be why "not accept full refund plus return postage".... then forward all to ebay and "hope" they have the decency to "side with the seller" on this instance....
An acceptence of your offer could indicate they have a "genuine gripe" and are being "honest and upfront"....
But then again it could mean "I've tried it on and lost" but it's not cost owt and they will try to do the same with someone else
.... or is that being too pessamistic about buyers with the new ebay rules
....
p.s. hope you get sorted "properly" however it turns out
....
Edit after posting....
chances are ,she already had a copy that is abused, and has used you to obtain a decent copy, without paying for it.
That's another thought on it....

There is too much me, me, and me on this site!!! And most off it is of childish and pathetic behaviour from people who have too much time on their hands and just want to cause shite!!!!!I agree.... but.... you make your "choice" to read them IMHO....
It's the music that counts and I've loved and lived it for 34 years now. Why cant people keep their soul-destroying opinions to themselves as I for one am sick to the back teeth of hearing them on this site!!!!! Constructive criticism yes. Bullshiting and backstabbing please keep to yourselves. I normally bite my tongue to stop myself posting on here to some of the absolute garbage that some people post, but things are getting well out of hand so decided to put in my two peneth. No one need answer to this, as I don't really give a shite if you do or don't agree and I certainly won't be posting or reading anything else on here again!!!!!!!!
I'm answering because I do "give a sh*te".... the music "does" count.... however many years are behind people.... but the simple answer is.... read what you "like" to read.... ignore what what you "dislike" on here.... perhaps "too simple" sometimes for most of us....
But if you "read" summat you "don't like or disagree with".... whose fault is that.... I'd say "yours" for clicking and reading such threads....
Suggest ignore such threads then you don't have to "throw your two penneth in" and then finish by saying "not posting, not reading anymore"....
You wouldn't have stated your "sick of reading such and such" and "I'm outa here" without "clicking to read what you don't like" in the first place....
I want to enjoy the rest of my life and will do by going out every week and listening to records sung by brilliant, talented black musicians and singers giving their all. With friends who I respect for their love and passion for this music and their company I enjoy being in!!!! That's why I love it so much!!!!!
As we all do pal.... as we all do.... roll on the weekend for the next installment of "all things soulful" and a "snippet" of the real world
....
As it is now Tuesday Mike.... suggest you close this thread as it seems we are continuing with the "rest of the week type posts"
....
But don't give up.... re-open other "Monday fun" threads everyday this week
....
Seriously though.... no offence to "karl" meant by this reply but if anybody "reads" a thread you should "accept" that "sh*t" can, and will, happen in replies.... sometimes.... that's life.... leave the "thread" alone if it upsets you.... too much more important things to worry about in our "short existence" on this planet....

You certainly gave him the feedback he deserved - but this is the problem, you had to still leave him positive when it was obvious that he deserved negative
Having to leave "positive" to state what you want is bollox like Pete says....
Having just looked though it seems ebay have removed it.... not the "positive" counting towards positive, if you get me, but the actual "comments".... disgraceful and shame on them....
Hey Katie.... contact ebay and see if they'll get rid of your "negative" explaining reasons.... you never know....

He has replied now, very polite, said thank you for pointing out the mistake...oh, read it yourselves..Thanks for the info. I am selling for my sister in law who assured me that they are all originals - I know nothing about 45 vinyl! I will have to wait and see what happens and offer full refund as and where necessary. You informative and polite comments are most welcome - I have now learnt not to list for others! Regards Paul
Polite
.... taking it that it wasn't the usual "there fookin boots mate" type of thing that gets sent by us SS'ers
....
Nice to see with a seller with integrety stating they'll offer refund....
Suppose that bit depends if the "buyer" isn't a numpty though that knows no better

mmmm maybe Mark
though getting to point where going by recent stuff (eg cover bands who can't spell the title of track covering) makes me wonder if the famous "live and let live" attitude we have oh here is just a bit flawed
From your perspective on the above example I'd agree Mike.... what with ensuring "things are in order" and all that...
From my point of view the number of views and replies, or lack of them, tells you how many actually lay credence to that type of thread IMO... those that do reply usually "type" summat to say what, I suspect, the vast majority that read it are thinking.... and then the thread "quickly" disappears from the front page....
The sh*te promoters, crap events, etc., etc., that you mention.... usually between a few, concerning a few and of little importance to others.... that happens on any forum IMO....
So yes.... "live and let live"
