  1. A real tough one to find (took me 12 years) and a very nice early instrumental tune (prefer part 2 on the flipside btw) that one day could have been "big" on the Mod Scene if it only would not always have been that rare IMHO.

    link

Yep part 2 better side, not long enough though...

    Anybody wanna hear it??

  2. satin is a wicked record only found out what it was when LA soul man gabby played it to me any one got a sound clip

Oh I know, great isn't it.......actually same song as James Phelps - The Look On Your Face on Apache, but far better as it loses the stoopid high pitched women at the start. Plus he has a better voice :thumbsup:

As for the clip, I think you should find one on Ovenchips site. Maybe page 39? It's on Shell records so you should find it from that. James Phelps is on too.

By the way, does anyone know if the Grapevin2000 release of "The look on your face" (credited to the Magnetics) is the exact same as James Phelps, or is it an unreleased thingymibobby?

  3. And another.....

E.J. Rice - Will You Be Coming Back - Platinum

Also I wonder if any of you can help...

I was recently listening to an online radio show. Think it was from Japan, but can't remember website and the file has been deleted from my player history. Anyway, a record was played and the chorus line was something like "I'm just a lone ranger". The DJ did anounce it, but unfortunately I don't speak the language of the orient. There was also a playlist (most probably stating the record), but my PC was having trouble translating. I would guess the record was early to mid 70s, and probably a group effort. Let me know if you have any ideas.

    WillyWelly :thumbsup::thumbsup:

  4. ...yet more wants:

Satin - Your Love's Got Me - One of me all time faves and I allways keep forgetting to put it on wants lists! Did have it on one, and Mr. broedsjoe kindly replied but my emails kept returning. Anyone else got a sdpare copy???

Glen Ricketts - Does It Really Matter - New one to me (well, newish), so don't know about value, can't be more than £100 for an unknown though can it?

    Cheers

  5. It's simply a "negative" of a scan of the label which is black with silver writting. As I

have said before, it's odd that a real rarity like this should turn up recently in mint condition especially being yet another black label with silver lettering Oxford Nights, Soul Communicators, Del Larks demos.......

    link

Why hippo are you suggesting that someone would "invert" (this is the proper term...duh?! :P ) the image in order to fool such a simple soul as me???

Anyway, doubt it as it came from a revues page with Frankie B. - Because Of My Heart + loads more, and these all looked fine to me.. Could it be a rare unheard of demo? Recent boot? Canadiad? t'other issue?

Anyway, I'm now going to invert my whoooooooooooole collection and turn them all into demos :thumbsup::P

By the way was the attachment full length? Can't open it... :(

Be a love and email me it:l_l_m_w@hotmail.com

  6. Thanks mike  but it wasn't really a scream for help, more an appropriate title. Found scan whilst looking for the record, can't remember where though...

What I would like though is a soundbyte. Only heard it from the awful quality 1 min long manship soundbyte, that sounds like it was recorded underwater <_< :P so if anyone knows where I can find one......

  7. sounds like a east european search  engine!!

have to give up on this one, as since hippo hit me with his rasp details, it no longer sounds duckish..........the magic is gone laugh.gif

How pissed am I ???!!! :diablo:

Anyway..... Label no. should be 1042, but mine is 2001, plus other side is called "Some other woman's bedroom" - this is shite too!

  14. Black as Black can be  wink.gif

    link

    so's mine

Think you'd struggle to sell it on here.

Only few that know how rare it are the ROTR lurkers, of which I am a proud member! :D:lol:

Perhaps if you chuck a couple of scans and a soundbite maybe people would hear just how good it is...

Or better still, we could steal a pair of Soul Sam's gloves, turn them inside out, and stamp his fingerprints all over the vinyl (although being VERY careful not to scratch wink.gif ):D:lol: . If this won't get it some attention, nothing will!!! :D
