  13. Gems For Jem-Time For love-EEZEE 12" £25.00 + £2p+p
  14. I threw the Ska and Reggae bit in just to appease Pete Smith, just to stop him jumping in Cos He always jumps in when modern is mentioned Pete
  15. Dave No one is patronising you.I think the quote 'open minded' is a fair comment. If you are receptive and willing to listen to various forms of music or whatever the subject is,then you are open minded. No one is asking you to like this music. What I find galling is the fact when a modern track or topic get's posted up,the usual suspects crop up with 'It's Shite' 'Disco' 'There's no place on this site for this' Can you just not accept the fact that people enjoy and embrace things that you don't? I don't particularly like RnB,I'm sick to death of Oldies that I danced to 25 years ago.but I respect the fact that people do like them. I don't feel need the to jump in with two feet just because I don't like a particular subject. Enjoy your Rare Soul Dave.I'll enjoy my Modern and my occasional wandering into the main room, only when there's someone progressive on though Please Dave just accept there is Soul music that you don't appreciate, that others do. Cheers Pete
  16. Are you a Moderator Dave??? What right do you have to tell people what they can or cannot post on this list. This is a SOUL forumn,It covers all aspects of Soul predominantly Rare and Northern, but also Modern, even Ska and Reggae. Just because you don't like it,or it doesn't fit into your neat little pigeon hole that you call Soul.It doesn't mean that other people on this forumn don't appreciate it. If you attend any two room event/Weekender,Music like this is getting played in the Modern rooms, like it or not it's a fact mate. I bought the the first Soul In The House compilation,I'll probably get this there's several tracks on it that are blinding tracks with very Soulful vocals,The Dawn Tallman and Ultranate for example. Maybe the Openminded quotes are put up there because of the small minded individuals who comment on them.I bet you haven't heard one single track off that compilation have you Dave? Rant over I feel better now Cheers Pete

  19. Did you notice the buyer was from Chile.Didn't realise South America had a Northern scene Time to ask him some silly questions I think
  20. Musically his finest moment for me was Georgia On My Mind where he turns it into a magical example of deep soul at its most tortured, again not too relevant to Northern but if your tastes are wider its worth a listen. Now onto the who invented funk question..... the UK media discuss! Cheers Jock link
  21. Rob Grant had one on his list last week £50 I think Cheers Pete
