  1. Jo, basically this is the very reason I'm quiting, I love the music, playing the music and being part of the scene but I refuse nor can I exspect 'Friends Of The Soul Shack' to constantly bail me out when funding is needed or use the begging bowl approach from my part when funds are needed, there is some advertising on the table generated by me but even with this the future would still prove difficult, thanks for your concerns and reply....... who knows I might get some other offers now...lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Bugger have we really known each other for 28 years...wow and double bugger...lol Mark Bicknell.
  3. 8-8-07 Dear Mark I have read your e-mail, and have to say that I am very sorry you are leaving after all these years, but I understand why this has got to be. I would like to thank you for all the hard work you have put in - and also for bending over backwards to get the show funded. If at a later date you can build up enough interest to get another show funded - not necessarily at the same time as at present - please let us know immediately, and we will see what is available. I would also point out that there are sometimes midnight-2AM slots available on various nights - and we could offer these at approximately half-price. It seems that your sponsorship would run out late in August; however, if you are aggreable, we will run the show until early September, making Sunday September 2nd your last show - giving you plenty of oppurtunity to inform your listeners. All the best Tony Monson - Solar Radio. This is an Email reply from Tony Monson at 'Solar Radio' which has humbled me big time, you will see that the door is open for me but I would only consider this offer if the funding issues were covered and in place and well in advance with block funding over a 12 month period rather than month by month, week by week as it's sometimes been which has been the problem in recent times and a major pressure always hanging over me, however funding is not the only reason to stop as i explained in my original posting. I thought you would all like to see this and it confirms that the final show will broadcast on Sunday September 2nd. I love doing this show but circumstances have finally forced my hand. Thanks again for the many private Emails, messages and phone calls showing support, no one is more upset than me on this trust me. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  6. Does not suprise me, I guess I was grading mine, even in the condition mines in I would not let it go for less than £200.00 but not selling so there....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  7. Gaz, I've had this record for years, my copy is pretty battered but plays well which would suggest it was well played in it's place of origin being a minor hit as you say, I think is pretty hard to find a clean copy and I would think due to it's quality that this one is tucked away in collections and is not often up for sale...value who knows? JM i'm sure will advise here, has to be a couple of hundred quid?? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  8. Just noticed on Keith Williams - 'Soulsearcher' latest list that he has a Willie Kendrick RCA for £60.00 which has been mentioned here....but i bet it's gone...lol Mark Bicknell.
  9. I think the answer is yes, well some do for sure, depends I guess if you DJ/work with a one box rotation method where all your eggs so to speak are in one box and only have that as your source, buy, sell, swap, trade or if you have a base collection which you can call upon and rotate that way, I fall into the latter and tend to use of late the base collection to buy,sell,swap,trade....sometimes it's hard to part with stuff that you have had for twenty years, other records it's not so hard and so it goes on....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
