  1. How about Stemmon's Express -' Woman, Love Thief' i had the local Karma release sold it way back then got a Wand Demo again sold on way back but on reflection the local issue has remained quite hard to find, others that spring to mind are Ty Karim - 'You Really Made It Good To Me' still have Senator copy but which is the harder to find Senator or Romark??? also Larry Atkins 'Ain't That Love Enough' always really common on Highland but seen for over £100.00 recently so how hard is it to find on Romark??? must be really hard to find. Sandy Wynn's - 'The Touch Of Venus' another common record on Champion but rare as rocking horse droppings on Doc? Brilliant thread i might add. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

I've said this before i'll say it again for me my biggest influence without a shadow of a doubt head and shoulders above the rest is Ian Clark, at Yate he was the man, early days of the 100 Club he was the man, Cashmeres, Elbie Parker, Joann Courcy, Empires, Paris, Bobby Kline etc. he had them all, his passion for the music perfection and presentation as a DJ inspired me, i only wish he was still out there doing it, and more important than the records etc. Ian is one hell of a nice bloke. Respect to the DJ's DJ - Mark Bicknell.
  3. The Inverts - Look Out Love - Tower - Awesome group record more common than their Broadway release 'Time Will Change' but equal in quality...more to follow...lol Mark Bicknell.
  4. Lou Bond - You Shake Me Up - Branstorm - needs playing at the gigs should be a huge record. Little Ben And The Cheers - I'm Gonna Get Even With You - Penny - Been around years should be in all collections, superb record. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  5. Good flip side too...'That's Where The Action Is'...blinding double header. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  6. I'm totally lost for words, i simply can't find the words to say how so very sad i am to hear this news, John was a top bloke and i'm so glad i knew him, he was a one off true original always supported our Allnighters way back in the early 90's, had a good ear for a good record and he will be sadly missed, i'm stunned......... Our thoughts are with Christine and John's family at this very sad time. Mark and Jacqui Bicknell.

  12. --> QUOTE(Mike B @ Jan 2 2006, 11:03 PM) link Its one of them love it or hate it records I think Mark but probably the nearest I'll get to JB or Bobby James unless of course I went for a re-issue perish the thought - I remember someone on here offering a copy up a few months ago but not sure how hard it is ? I guess its one that disappears into collections and stays there.... One day Happy New Year all Mike B Interesting though this Mike, having met both Jimmy and later Bobby James who wrote 'I Really Love You' AKA Robert Newsome, they both had no knowledge of the Brand New Faces version, totally different lyric as you know so they must have just borrowed the backing track, i still have Jimmy's version also have had the Karol release but sold it on a few years ago, i'm sure if you hunt around you will source a copy of the Brand New Faces version...happy hunting.....i'll ask around for you ok. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  23. No i mean what i say and i stick by my comments...would it be pious if your good name and reputation were in question here...i think not. Col i've sent you a private message off line because this is not really our battle is it? which should underline my comments, which were meant in good faith and simply showing some support, i would have said the same things if it was aimed at anyone not just John Manship. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  24. Oh well. Mark Bicknell.
  25. One final point regarding the West Coast haul and finding multi counts or boxes of big titles which may or not be true, who in their right mind would declare such information? perhaps when 'big quanitity' turns up then a more realistic set sale selling price is the best thing to do i.e. Danny Moore, Royal Esquires, Dream Team etc. then everyone who wants a copy has a fair chance of getting one at a fair price, as Trevski said if you don't like auctions, their methods or practices then simply don't bid. I would suggest that Mike Hughes closes this topic as i'm sure we all feel that this topic has very much over stepped the mark be it fact, fiction, true or otherwise, it all seems just a little too heavy. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
