Another eclectic mix of the unusual, the rare, the Northern, the funky and the crossover.
Postage to be added. Paypal F&F (or please add 4% to cover my fees) or bank transfer.
I can do soundfiles for anything listed if wanted.
(1) Big Ella – “It Takes A Lot Of Loving” (Lo Lo) VG/VG+ £50 *****SOLD*****
Better than VG condition but not quite enough to justify a full VG+; no significant marks on vinyl – bit of label wear and staining as shown
Plays great – no issues; pounds along

Ditto re condition – better than VG but can’t quite justify full VG+; plays with a little crackle but doesn’t overpower the sound
Very classy brass and organ driven 70s crossover and a rare record – seldom comes up

*****BOTH SOLD TO PEOPLE WITH EXCELLENT TASTE*****
Hi All
These are two very nice obscure and rare 45s - one funky and one crossover. Both spares I managed to pick up.
(1) Little Curtis & The Bigmen - "Peace" (GF Productions) VG+ £200 *****SOLD*****
one I've played at the last couple of Rhythm Soul & Funk weekenders in Eastbourne and gone down well - also featured on my last Mixcloud
(2) Northern Lights - "Hey Mama" (Northern Lights) VG/VG+ £200 *****SOLD*****
this is simply a stunning piece of flute-driven, pleading crossover soul which genuinely deserves to go big across a range of venues
the recording is pitched up a little which gives it a more dancefloor friendly feel, but this really could catch on in all sorts of venues
it is a little crackly in quieter parts but is pretty much exactly the same condition as the copy I'm keeping

It should be very very interesting; looking forward to it. He certainly had a dodgy side, but I’d say this. I was lucky enough in the early 80’s along with Ian Clark, to be invited to Les McCutcheons home to view Simon Soussans collection, which was being sold through Les. What a sight that was! That haul of records all together like that, would blow most collectors minds; it blew mine!! Rarely do any of us see that many rare original records, all in one place in this country. It was phenomenol, amazing. Everything was for sale, and the pricing was amazing (Cheap!!)but thats a whole other story.
Slightly off topic, for which I apologise, but did Iain Stewart end up with the rump of this collection, about 10,000 records so I was told at the time? Or was it the rump of Ian Levine's collection that ended up with Iain Stewart?

A few quality items needing new homes. Paypal F&F (or please add 4% to cover my fees) or bank transfer. Postage to be added.
(1) Creations - "Take These Memories" (Virtue) VG+ £250 *****SOLD*****
- simply a fabulous record - rare and underplayed
- I understand has had venue plays including from Soul Sam himself and Andy Dyson
(2) Jimmie Ellis - "Happy To Be" (Century City) EX £300 *****SOLD*****
- classic in lovely condition and a reluctant sale - needs must
(3) Johnny Davis - "You Got To Crawl To Me" EX £50
- reduced from previous lists - spare copy of this wonderful, heart-rending soul 45
(4) Masterpiece - "Love Affair" (Ypsi) EX £250 *****SOLD*****
- another reluctant let go - lovely condition on this 70s crossover gem
(5) Winfield Parker - "Mr Clean" (Ru-Jac) VG/VG+ £200 *****SOLD*****
- Departure from the more crossover end of the other listed items with this funk-edged R&B gem
- The better version of Mr Clean IMHO and I think tougher than Dicky & Gloria - seen more of them than this
- Condition is more VG+ than VG but visually at the lower end; however, record plays loud and proud with no significant issues

Hi All
Same label as brought us Verble Domino's version of "I've Been Fooled Before".
If anyone happens to have the Chicago Good Guys "Peace, Love And Harmony" lying around unwanted, please let me know.
Thanks

OK folks, have an unexpected major bill to settle so here's some beauties for consideration.
Some of these are things I've only bought very very recently, but they feel the least painful to let go on that basis! Sensible offers might be considered for quick sales.
Bank transfer or Paypal F&F (or please add 4% to cover my fees). Postage will be UK special delivery - overseas will be tracked and signed.
(1) Billy Williams - "So Called Friend" (Kris) EX/M- £500
- Probably the rarest record on the list - very tough and not widely known
(2) Frederick Hymes III - "Time Ain't Gonna Do me No Favor" (Fab Vegas) EX £950 *****SOLD*****
(3) Jerry Jones - "I'm A Slave" (PAL) G+ £500 *****SOLD*****
- Looks rough as, but plays decent enough for DJing and I have used it on several occasions
- View it as an opportunity to acquire a very in-demand rarity at a bargain price and impress the dancefloor!
(4) Mixed Sugar - "It's A Bad Feeling" (FGS) EX/M- £550 *****SOLD*****
- Seen this popping up on more playlists recently
- Very tough 45 to acquire and value will only head upwards
(5) Re-Vells - "I Want A New Love" (Trent Town) VG+ £900 *****SOLD*****
- My second copy of this and only acquired a few weeks back, but needs must
- Still growing in dancefloor demand
- Really nice condition and signed by the band members
(6) The Sound-Masters - "Lonely Lonely" (Julet) VG+ £550 *****SOLD*****
- Another only very recently acquired - my second copy and was pleased to get it back in the box
- Classy soul from Morris Chestnut and his partners
- Some copies are off centre (my last one was) - this one is not!
- A few small marks on the vinyl but all very superficial and play quality is excellent - it's a bargain
Half a dozen quality 45s
