Got 6702, 6708 and 6711 so far. Any others recommended?
Thanks again to everyone for the info.
Neil.
I love and and collect the label
I can vote for 6703..kinda remake to their first outing "You`ve Been Untrue" on Cameo Parkway (which I also love big time). This groups talent and output right from the start really is amazing.
6707 is a latin-esque instrumental that saw some recent atcion on R&B decks. Nth too special though IMVHO.
Saw 6706 getting some action on UK Rare Soul decks in recent times but havent heard it so I cant comment on this as its the one thats still missing in my home..

Uniform wearing cosplay is positively de regueur over here! Am now not sure whether my exclusive offer to my fellow Japanese based collectors will have been trumped by your uniform offer, albeit a paid optional extra!
The flip side is more the bag for the majority of the Tokyo collectors, and am not sure the Kansai boys will go all the way with this one...we'll see in a few hours time...so can't help with your flight ticket plans...Tokyo Narita or Osaka International!?!
not only Tokyo my friend..its the flipside that gets it vote in 10709 Berlin as well !

I have a pretty clean copy of the John Harris 45 w/ps
Serious offers only (over $2500) - goingundergroundrecords@gmail.com
wow, what a nice find! the last copy that changed hands recently went for conciderably more than your starting price so I wonder what your copy will go for in the end. would it be okay to ask where you found yours, a recent find or have you had it for some time and just decided to sell it ?

It was one of those 'pay your subs and get f*ck all back' jobs in the end.
not true pete..every subscriber received a free cd "rare Soul review" which included some ecclectic and tasty choices...some heard salt & pepper "man of my words" for teh very first time thru this CD (incl. me). Tim wouldnt ever have just collected the subs without either fulfiling the subs or deliver some sort of compensation.

First the 'Tittyshaker' and now the 'Knee Trembler' to quote John's description. Perhaps we are watching history in the making with a real possibility of Frank Wilson being knocked off his perch. Chalky nails the summary of this record earlier in the strand - as pretty close to Northern perfection as you will ever find, a record that eclipses the mega-rarities that accompany it when spun in the sets of the world's top Northern DJ eg Walter and the Admerations, Ray Agee, Martha Jean Love, Joseph Webster, Saints etc. As Tony says above, why criticise a record like this when afterall, it epitomises what the music is all about. Here is a record beyond comparison, Northern perfection, a pinnacle of collecting that most of us can only dream of... Was this an Allentown find? Has anyone out there got the full story? Will John burn up his 20% flying to Japan to ensure complete customer satisfaction by offering a 'Hand Job' as it were? Is the reclusive Mr Flynn cunningly stockpiling rare records with a view to promoting the Tokyo Casino as the first truly global all- niter? As the tension builds, snipes are set, crate- diggers in the States search frantically for a 25 count box (minus three or four records), the Manship switchboard melts down and has to outsource the auction to a Call Centre in Swansea. The Mello Souls story has certainly livened up proceedings and could well prove to be the 'kick up the backside' the scene needs to return to up-tempo, vintage 66-69 Northern with a sprinkling of unknown sounds.
Frank Wilson has been knocked off its perch a long time. Both of the two Mello Souls that are now in the US and that came from UK sellers were sold for way way more than Frank Wilson. Crazy I know...

Yeah, someone bought the no label 7" of helpless but cant remember who, and I think it did look and sound dodgy. My one is chunky 10" with printed labels and looks the part. Never did find out who sings that helpless track, quite a catchy tune for an unreleased thing.
Hope all good mate, should see you next week
Mik
you should try to peel off the labl stickers if you wanna know for sure wether your acetate(s) is/are kosher or not.. mr radcliffe jr. used to stick on laser printed labels on top of the original stickers on his "newer" acetates. think we covered this whole subject already twice since fryer brought the subject up for the first time some years ago. I bought a 7" "helpless" which was kosher, looked, played and even smelled correct btw. but bought also other stuff off him, out of which one wasnt sober. cant think of its title at the moment though.

I've often heard this quote.
I suspect you'd follow it across the hall -
Nobody has the right to touch anyone else's records.
As much as nobody has the right to touch anyone elses (copy-)rights..for example in selling or playing bootlegs. Sidenote: Beside having lost some serious weight over the last year I still doubt anyone would be able to actually "throw" me (oranyone else) across the hall. Asking me to leave that sanother question and a wish I only to likely would fullfill in teh given scenario...

to answer the initial question, no they dont. some others also dont. but over here in Germany that doesnt help avoiding customs in general anymore as they tend to handpick items despite their low declared value...explanation once given to me by customs "we dont know if that declaration is correct therefore we take the right to test". customs over here have become more and more a problem when you collect. one could say it grew congruent with the growth of the euro crisis...well, the German state has a ever growing thirst for fresh money influx to help bail out our fellow euro crisis countries..
this customs problem plus the recent price hike in the us postage rates. now this bloody global shipping programm. plus those "more money then sense ebay high bidders" makes one indeed loose interest in buying statewise.

Arthur Fenn told me a brilliant story....its not up to me to post so maybe he will post it when he sees this..
