  1. Ooh look at us, we're so evolved we can accept music from any era and class it as Northern while we leave behind the rest of the dinosaurs, look at them enjoying their traditional Northern Soul, how dare they...

SHOVE 'EM UP YOUR ARSE laugh.gif

In fairness the punters who commented are all probably big fans of records like April stevens, KGF is a long way from that!

  2. Think most 'soulies' (applying the term loosely) buy the record for t'other side, which is by no means bad but not brilliant IMO, however the 'one day' side is rather splendid, a nice blend of uptempo funk and soul with a south american vibe that just makes you wanna enjoy it!

Thanks tricky didnt know tuther side was good, looking forward to recieving my copy in the post all the more now.

  5. Always remember this record with fond memories back in the late 70's

To stand on the balcony and watch the floor when this was spun by Richard was jaw dropping ohmy.gif

Thinking back to those threads about " big casino records" this sticks out in my mind a lot more than Frank Wilson ever willyes.gif

I was too young to afford records but remember people telling me this was the most expensive at that particular timeg.gif

Wasnt there but from all the old annecdotes I've heard most of the stoke crowd would concur, no someone who had atat with this on their arm.

  6. theres a kings go forth in sales today bud, cant remember whos selling it now though !

    jason

Thanks been offered simply loads of these mate, possibly a little over priced based on the amout obviously around.

shorty long- baby come on wom

Dionee Warwick - Lonley ( how good is this?)

Jackie Wilson- Watcha gonna do bout love

    Dean Parish- Stronger than me

Originals- I got a need for they

Eddie Jons- Listen to me ( dutch LP) ace 7ts

That'll do for now. What up with yo lot? dustna spayke stowke?

  9. John Manship sold it on auction a couple of years ago. I think Mick Holdsworth from Wolvo paid about nine hundred for it. A true rarest of the rare as far as 33's go. Tony Ellis from London has a copy, used to play it at Yate.

Alongside the unisssued Lou Johnson on UK london test press only, Adey C owns it I think.

  10. I would say this was the bargain of the year...always very hard to get usually £500+

It came from a unnamed cut out 50p box in greater manchester around 6 years ago,. shortly after me brother found one on

another label, or poss different rock records design in beat in rhythm , for 20 quid, but didnt bother, cause I already had it.

Then I hear Maria Willingham play it at Sanbach J17, and got very curious.
