I am really pleased to announce our guest DJ for Sunday 17 Sep 23 is all round top bloke, Spaldings Jez Wensor…Jez has been on the scene for a chuffin’ long time and has amassed quite a few records…known for his love of uptempo Northern Soul, he’s promoted, deejayed, collected etc etc etc…I can’t wait! It’s no coincidence that Jez guests on the weekend of the 50th Anniversary of Wigan Casino opening it’s doors… BUT (no baggies, beer towels, vests, or talc, please!! ) 🤣🤣🤣 might be some pies tho 😋 note…music policy remains across the board soul 😉 -

This Saturday sees a return behind the decks for Andy Rix…He’s not DJ’d anywhere since “Grumpy Soul” 5 years ago…I persuaded him to spin a couple of sets at my 60th a few weeks ago and he absolutely smashed it…Not sure when he’ll do another event so if a you can come along I’m sure you wouldn’t be disappointed… best regards, Ric F

Hi everyone…with only just over a week to go I’m afraid the event is not shaping up as I’d wanted… The Hotel only want us to use the front bar area which being quite small and fully carpeted is far from ideal…We were under the impression we would have the dinning area after Sunday lunch service had finished…This is now not the case… I personally feel the venue can’t offer what we want from our event so I make the unfortunate decision to cancel… I hope this isn’t too disappointing and believe me we are looking for a new home for Harbour Soul. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused… Ric & the Harbour Soul Team

Hi Steve...great memories of the place...Used to take turns with Max & Wendy to drive...only went to the Modern nights and it was generally Sam, Arthur, Dave on...Don't remember it being massively attended...but was always a good atmosphere...With it sharing the venue with a “Rock” music night it made for some “interesting” characters wondering around the building 😄...Going for a piss when the gents was full of grebos won’t for the faint hearted lol Remember plays like, King Tutt, Solid Gold Revue, David Sea etc... Also Dave R would have his latest sales available and remember buying Cecil Lyde there for £8... I almost sure Dave put on an All-nighter there... Anyway fond memories of going over to Nottingham on a Friday night including the occasional bit of street racing on the way in 😄 Ric
