Kevin Laverty - 2007 Warning
Glyn the guy in question, Christian, has tracked him down, rung him, emailed him, reported to the police and goodness knows what else but the guy must have a brass neck because he's taken no notice whatsoever, the only way to sort this out is a face to face but unlikely as they live thousands of miles apart. The on,y thing to do is confirm it is him trading under a new name and every time anyone bids on one of his items, send them a warning. Probably need a new ebay account to do this.

Does A Dj Own 'djing Rights' Of A Record?
I don't know who said "it should only be played once in a night" but whoever it was, thats utter rubbish, can you imagine 8 hours at Wigan and only one dj's allowed to play the biggest record in the country, you travel 100 miles to hear the top records but if you miss it at 1am you'll not hear it again til next week...you used to hear the same record in 3 out of 4 dj's set because people wanted to hear it time after time...I swear at one point people would have listened to Adams Apples or Frankie Crocker ten times in a row and not got bored with it

Anyone Know These 3?
Just wondered if it's the same singer on tracks 1 & 3. No idea who they are but may well be UK productions.

Anyone Know These 3?
I was trying to catch some of the lyrics, it does appear she (yes its a she) is singing the words "I got love"

Wigans Ovation
Must have been reissued by popular demand. I've got a few records on that colour label too. They are late 70's.

Does A Dj Own 'djing Rights' Of A Record?
I only remarked on it because I just thought it was a bog standard oldie, didn't realise someone was associated with it

Does A Dj Own 'djing Rights' Of A Record?
If I was playing a record and someone tried to remove it I would stab them

Does A Dj Own 'djing Rights' Of A Record?
If the dj fills the dancefloor and the punters are happy, who gives a toss except for the anally retentive vinyl snobs present, the ones who are always peering over the decks and account for about 2% of the people there.

Does A Dj Own 'djing Rights' Of A Record?
How can Johnny Howard be a "Butch spin", last person I heard play it was John "Johnny" Manship back in 1977, in fact they all had copies of it back then after Levine first played it a couple of years before. It was even bootlegged. But now you talk about it as if it was discovered recently.

Second Resurrection 45
He asked me to sell this for him, I put a couple of feelers out and without naming names, someone who should know me better thought it was mine and offered £150 for it

A P'd Off E-bayer
I got one from the States this morning in an 8 x 10 lightweight padded bag with no carboard whatsoever, I can't believe it survived, I@ve a good mind to tell the bloke it broke to teach him a lesson

(not) Unissued Acetate 70's Dancer
Thanks for the info guys, brilliant detective work. So not the next big thing. Only cost $22 so was worth a gamble at that price.

(not) Unissued Acetate 70's Dancer
Blimey, good spot mate, so whats with the credits on the label because apart from the word Chestnut (oh and Melba) none of it gives a clue. Why Arthur Crier? Is it worth anything?
-
(not) Unissued Acetate 70's Dancer
Might be totally wrong about this but I've checked and can't find out anything about it. The artist is credited as Arthur Crier who was a legendary doo-wop artist and producer/writer, but he was a bass singer and this sounds more like a group. The title is Super Lovin' and it has BMI publishing on the label but the artist and title isn't registered with BMI. OTher names on the label are Bill Reid and possibly Irene something. Anyway if it turns out to be known/common, no problem, but if not, this is pretty good and someone might be interested in it. Sound clip below

Ellusions
Surprised to discover (from Andy Rix) that this was a white, Righteous Brothers type duo

Wigan Casino
The very essence of these tapes is that they capture the atmosphere, I wouldn't want any of mine cleaned up really, when I wanted to hear just the music I recorded them off the top of the speakers at the front of the stage.

Funny Titles..for The Mind Of A Child..any More Welcome
I love what happened to it in translation but it's real title is "The best dressed chicken in town", I think I prefer your version!

Sweet Three
Tried selling one last year for £150, had to lower it til it got to something like £80, and that was the rarer stock copy, though I saw it go for over $200 on ebay the other week. So in answer to your question, see what book price is then knock 40% off.

Finally Got My Records Out
Thats a shame cos with titles like that you wouldn't have had to work again for the rest of the year if you'd sold them!

Manship
Just sidestepping a little, I've got a record listed on this site, last weeks list actually, for £35, someone else has it listed on here for £150. One of us has it badly wrong!
