LINDA HOPKINS – MEMORIES AND A BROKEN HEART – BRUNSWICK VG++ 35 SOLD Absolutely brilliant midtempo dancer – never had this before TIMIKO – IS IT A SIN – CHECKER DJ EX 30 Lovely early midtempo sound THE FOXES – I JUST MIGHT FALL IN LOVE – ABC DEMO VG++ 60 Few marks but plays perfect, nice girl dancer and early Eddie Singleton production – was a 200 quid job MARION RYAN – BETTER USE YOUR HEAD – IBC STUDIOS ACETATE VG++ 25 SOLD The original acetate of the Philips single, one sided, labelled ‘Version 2’ but I think this is the one that was released CLAUDE HUEY – FEEL GOOD ALL OVER – EARLY BIRD VG++ 25 SOLD Glossy with some marks not affecting play, cracking old Stafford dancer PEGGY MARCH – LOSIN' MY TOUCH – RCA DJ M- 30 This is absolutely brilliant, it's as good as If You Loved Me is bad – subtle midtempo / beat ballad beauty, it's been on a couple of my podcasts THE BRACELETS – YOU'RE JUST FOOLING YOURSELF – 20TH CENTURY EX 30 One time 100 pound sound, nice black issue with very slight ring wear on the raised part of the label CAROLYN CRAWFORD – MY SMILE IS JUST A FROWN (TURNED UPSIDE DOWN) – MOTOWN VG++ SOLD 30 Has a couple of light clicks but no problems, plays great, the other side is absolutely tremendous, I'll Come Running, that is VG+ couple of clicks right in the middle of the song, labels are spotless NANCY WILCOX – COMING ON STRONG – RCA BLACK ISSUE VG 25 Used copy but plays fine, and of course very rare as a black stock copy BOBBY STAR – TOGETHER – UNITED ARTISTS DJ EX 25 One of the oddest dancers of the last couple of decades I reckon THE VONTASTICS – I'LL NEVER SAY GOODBYE – SATELLITE VG+ 40 SOLD Vinyl looks scruffy but again, plays with no problems whatsoever - really amazed this hasn't sold, books at 125 or something like that EDDIE GARRIGAN – I WISH I WAS – FONTANA DEMO M 50 A mint original white demo – stunning

I'd love to keep this but needs must. THE BARONS - KID STUFF - SHAGG 711 truly superb midtempo group harmony sound Looks VG, plays really well, minor background crackle in quiet places but easily VG++ going into EX in fact the only noise is a couple of clicks in the fade out - but I will supply a sound sample and guarantee the record anyway ref o soul clip here /more/soul-library/61757-the-barons-kidd-stuff-shagg-records/ any offers over £50 please

Not had much luck buying electrical stuff from boot sales, bought a couple of dansettes which I was assured would work, they didn't, but if I can be arsed to get up early I'll go this saturday, every boot sale I got to, I bump into Scotty!

Maybe it just sounds off centre on purpose - what I mean is, it's supposed to sound like that - honestly, I can't remember any of my copies sounding offcentre

It is styrene, but that was what I used - an ultrasonic cleaner - wouldn't shift it

Not sure iif the bottom two are actually on reissues...don't remember The Sparkels being booted

Got this record and in the middle of the playing surface it hasw like paint in the grooves and of course this causes it to 'swoosh' for a minute. I've tried everything to get this out: starting with washing up liquid and warm water, servisol 30 foam cleanser, vinegar (!), 'sticky stuff remover' and even half an hours worth of electro-magnetic cleaning (you could see the area being attacked but it just wouldn't move it). So, anyone got any ideas as to what might be able to get in the grooves to clear it out?

In the shop, they wouldn't have it that it was a pre-amp because it didn't say pre-amp on the unit, the guy kept saying "it says it's an amplifier so we sold it as an amplifier" and they put it back out as an amplifier

Probably more likely to buy a vintage one I think Mark. Kicking myself cos I chucked one away when I moved here.

Well we took the amp back today for a refund and my missus refused to leave the shop until they gave us a set of speakers to make up for the damaged ones, eventually after 20 minutes they gave in and let us have a pair and they're better than the ones I blew up! Richer Sounds only have one budget amp, Cambridge Audio, and it's very basic for 79 quid

Need an amplifier, preferably black, it's just for home hi-fi use, happy to buy second hand but don't want to pay over 100 quid to be honest, anyone got one for sale or maybe recommend an online place to buy one from?
