  1. What's the going rate for this, i've had a (very) quick scan around but couldn't see anything?

    Ste.

The other side is a great funk tune and sought after for that too.....not easy.....the last copy I had, although scratched, sold v quickly @ £15.

    Cheers Gareth

  2. Uh! And by the way: sorted!

Just out of interest, which is your pick of the sides....Funky Nassau is good, but its Jump In The Water which is my choice side....

  3. There's also a reissue of the 12". A couple of them are filed on popsike.

For some reason I assumed the UK 12" is the rarer one...

I'm thinking the supposed US issue is a reissue ???

Always came across more 12s than 45s, although never a huge amount of either.....

  4. Wow, didn't know this was so hard to find?

Very surprising, considering it was issued here in the UK and in France on a 45 & 12"....and there's an Italian 12 too....and I think a US 12" ???

The UK copies are all i've ever seen, and the 45 is the harder of the format's to find...

  5. I found one in Record & Tape exchange Camden recently

    What's your name now Johnny,,,,Mark Houghton.....

One of my fave cheapies and for me the epitome of crossover, another on Calla, Jean Wells - What Have I Got To Lose

Current spin for me, Margie Joseph - Promise Me Your Love off her 74 LP, might be on a 45 - i've not checked.....

And a pricier one i've been digging out again recently - LaShawn Collins - What You Gonna Do Now - Sincere

    Cheers Gareth

Finally, got the list of 12s up for sale - meant to be up a week or so ago, but Soul Essence (& subsequent day or so recovery :() got in the way !!! Look carefully, some nice 12s that I often see listed up for a bit more...

Also included here, the remainder of the albums & 45s that I put up recently - thanks to all that bought bits & pieces from those lists

    Cheers Gareth

Anything you need to hear, just ask and i'll stick a sound file up.....

  7. I have known and dealt with Phil at Boogie Times for well over 15 years and i'd be very surprised if he were trying it on with you. Sold him many records in the past....including copies of Bridget Cooper i'm sure. I would suspect the scan, and clip is not of one of your records....probably been up on his site for a long time.

Of course, I cannot be 100% sure....just trying to give you the heads up that you may be jumping the gun and there is an honest explanation....

Getting fed up with the people who abuse the paypal 'item not received' claims system. Sadly it seems the worst problems stem for France and Italy. This latest one has calimed via paypal for non-receipt of the records I posted them and despite having proof of postage etc etc there's no way to win due to how paypal makes their decisions. Normally I just take the hit but this guy not only is trying to rob me but at the same time is calling me a dishonest person!

boogietimesrecords (ebay id and has their own website)

I strongly advise all sellers to be very wary of this buyer who despite not receiving the records I sent him somehow knew what postal service I used (asked why didn't I send via signed for post, when I never mentioned what service I had posted them via) and also managed to sell the allegedly non-received 45s on his website....not sure how he managed to scan, record and sell something he never received, must be a very clever man.

Record he bought was 5 copies of Bridget Cooper - Get Into The Love Groove - Birdie so I would love to hear from anyone who purchased one from his website, where they're now listed as out of stock:

  8. I looked into this, almost immediately that this way of paying took off....realised after the first couple of times I received funds this way, that the payment doesn't come through from paypal with a shipping address. Quite obvious, if you know paypal's rules regarding mailing to the address supplied with payment, that this was unlikely to be a safe way of paying for goods.

Be wary of any seller demanding payment this way....

I've got a copy of the album in pile of LPs ready to sell....its the issue with the picture sleeve, many come in plain white sleeves....

Not sure i've ever seen a 12" on Midtown ??? Could be wrong....

Price on the LP would be £20 + p&p....

Packed in the boxes, tunes from the likes of The OJays, Etta James, Three Pieces, Robert Parker, Mr Fingers, Plant Life, Maze & Candy Bowman......a right old mixture, but be sure - the 2nd hour is seriously deep & soulful. Hope you can join me, gonna be filling in for 'Gomez' this coming Friday too....more on that later.....:hatsoff2:

  14. Got a bit carried away there!:yes:

Well l'll go for 1983 and the three would be

    1) Never Too Much-Luther Vandross

    2) Touching In The Dark-Walter Jackson

    3) Love You Til The Very Last Drop-Bobby Thurston

But not particularly in that order :hatsoff2:

I would have said '81.......but 80 - 84 is a great era for modern soul. Although - as yours are 81, 82 & 81 respectively - do we have to actually pick tunes from our golden year ????.....

1981, Very Last Drop would be right up there for me, Keni Burke - Let Somebody Love You & Leon Ware - Rockin' You Eternally.......

    Cheers Girf
