  1. Late 77 or 1978...... another of JV's really fantastic soul rarities !?!?! ............ along with The Fuzzy Bunnies and ' I'll give you time' The Outsiders

  2. Normally a term that means the soul night is not really going to be for the rare soul collector or discerning alternative soul individual, expect to hear ' the snake ' or Frank Boring

  3. After many weeks, why are people even commenting on this, what a sad waste of time. Can we have some proper interesting articles on here please, record reviews, playlists, venue reports, DJ profiles, record collecting finds, etc, not continual debate over a quite insignificant chart record that surely has no place being talked about in the first place !?!
Get a life you saddos !!

Good topic geeselad,I’ve often wondered what was played early on,or what may have been played if not a pop release?

I’m gonna be quite detailed here,im interested in seeing a list of northern soul uk only 45s? Predominantly 60’s and some 70’s.

a list of 45s that are uk only,no foreign release or USA,no album tracks, and an original song for that particular artist! I imagine it will be a short list and of blued eyed soul origin!

RAY MERRELL TEARS OF JOY JAYBOY

MICKEY MOONSHINE NAME IT YOU GOT IT DECCA …these two are perfect examples of what I mean.

timi yuro never be over (this isn’t)

chapter 5 (this isn’t) these two have album an foreign releases!

    lee

What about FEARNS BRASS FOUNDRY  -  Don't change it  (UK DECCA only)

  7. Was there last summer, didn't find anything very rare, but a fair few £15 - £40 things, try Grooves on Market St,  Amoeba in the Haight, and Groove Merchant.  Rooky Ricardos shut , not sure if it has reopened.  A number of decent stores in Oakland across the bay, quite accessible by train or ferry, try Hercules records, Alcatraz Ave.
