  2. Checked this am and dashboard showing a net balance which I was able to transfer to my bank. Therefore, must have been a crossover of changing account preferences and eBay processing a buyers payment. Either way, now all sorted. Thanks for replies.

Yes but it was not completed and you transferred all these funds onto your bank account by which time eVilBay couldn't gather the funds from there and then anymore. It maybe a time in action criss cross situation that putted you in that situation now. Could it ? Or not ?

Yeah, I think you’re right. It’s confusing and their latest email advising that restrictions might be imposed coupled with an auction ending tomorrow has wobbled me a bit. Thanks for your replies anyway.

  4. I’m fairly sure I did that and eBay sent a pro forma email confirming that the partial refund was being processed. On further perusal of my “ dashboard “ it maybe that the payment today is still being processed so that my balance is zero. I’ll check in the morning for any updates.

I recently sold some 45’s to a buyer on eBay. The same buyer won 3 separate auctions and paid £15.00 postage. I sent the 45’s in one package which cost £6.00 and therefore, decided to refund £9.00 for combined postage which the buyer was happy about. I transferred my eBay balance to my bank and received an email confirming that my request to refund excess postage was being processed. I subsequently received an email indicating that eBay had been unable to process the refund. This is a copy of the email :-

We attempted a payment that was initiated by you on 2 Dec 2024 for the owed amount of £9.00.

Since this charge has failed, we will deduct £9.00 from your total funds pending payout.

If your total funds pending payout are insufficient, your payment method on file will be charged pursuant to your authorisation in the Payments Terms of Use. We may aggregate all outstanding amounts owed.

I’ve just sold some more 45’s to a different buyer who has made payment, but I can’t figure out how to remove the hold on payment out to me which eBay seem to have imposed despite there now being sufficient funds for them to collect the £9.00 refund above and my having  updated the preferred payment method for paying selling costs on eBay.

Ive got another auction ending tomorrow with at least 1 bid on so am keen to get the situation resolve asap.

    Anyone have a solution?

Just seen on FB that Ady is the guest on my mate, Andy Hackett’s, internet radio show ( Gospel Brunch ) this lunchtime. The show follows usual format ie chat between playing records. Andy presents this show weekly with Donna Driscoll before switching to a live DJ set ( with various guests ) in the Boogaloo pub on Archway Road, Highgate in between a set from a live band.

A pity it clashes with the Championship play off 1st leg.

Is there a distinction between Younghearts - Little Togetherness on vinyl with the Nashville Matrix stamp and The Younghearts - A Little Togetherness also on vinyl with a stamped Nashville Matrix or are they both considered originals?

I’ve got The Younghearts - A Little Togetherness with JC 67 C 506 A  RE  Nashville Matrix   5 in the deadwax which I always thought was a bootleg but have noticed recently that similar copies are described as an original if stamped with Nashville Matrix.

I’m not sure this was established one way or another in the original thread on here. Any views?

Have played it from 45 in dj sets and Mixclouds - also an old Steve Cato spin .

It was Steve Cato who played it. I've always liked Terry Reid's stuff going back to The Hand Don't Fit The Glove. An interesting but surprising spin which got the dancefloor busy.

    It's a rock record?

I guess it's got a Mod, Psych feel with the Hammond Organ fills but aimed at a rock/pop audience when released I'd say. A floorfiller at the night I attended so similar to things like Babe Ruth, Julien Covey etc which were popular in the mid 7ts.

This got played on Thursday at a soul night in Brixton. I’ve never heard it played out at a soul night before and it was a popular spin, filling the dance floor although I was surprised to hear it and did wonder to myself how many knew the artist and song as it’s quite an obscure 45 being demo only 45 in the U.K.  I knew it from a Mickey Most mfp compilation which was in my parents small collection of vinyl LP’s when I was a youngster around 1971. Anyone else heard it played out before or any other DJ’s playing this? It’s a great track from a very respected U.K artist but a surprising spin as said.

If you like live music, I can also recommend this event tomorrow in Highgate which is on the Northern Line ( High Barnet branch ). By coincidence the promoter of Chez 66 is also DJing at this event so expect some northern, RnB. The other DJ’s play Soul and RnB too. The Arlenes are an Americana band.
