Bit of a tough one this. Mate of mine desperate to know (if poss title and artist). Track is soul, maybe slightly R&B esq. Below is all we know thus far. Any other info from soul doc Chalky or anyone else who knows owt about it, would be walmly received. It's a Butch spin, but Dargey played it a couple of times at Deep Funk. All I know is that the chorus bit repeats the line, "Yes... yes I know" a few times and there's a rolling, grinding sort of piano-led riff in it... top tune, though. > ---------- > From: Alpha Group > Sent: Wednesday, August 10, 2005 2:41 pm > To: Gosden, Nigel > Subject: that track? > > Hey Dude, > > What was the name of the track you wanted me to ask about? Went with Marv, gotta say. Marvin liked to distance himself from other male solo artists at Motown, did it to Jimmy Ruffin too. In record sales though he outsold the Temptaions, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles. Was 2nd only to the Supremes. Rare soul is where it's at imo. But to spare a thought for a commercial soul act ... Marvin.

They sound great. Not that many people go to the trouble of ordering specialist strides. How much?
  5. Getting somewhere near back on topic for a cotton pickin' moment. Have you seen the size of Levine (Jon's pic post#18) these days Saw him at 100 few year's back and although he's always been a bit of a chunk, he was nowhere near that size - orca!
  6. Too much gay sex on this site Where did you get that quote from with the signature, from the threads thread? Karen C's right about your avatar, top totty Gwen Stefani
  7. You really are a wag
  8. Ah yes I see, could well be then. Who knows? Sure as you say they wouldn't be offended by this light banter. Nothing against gays you understand, all the more totty for us real men!
  9. How do you know we have 300 gay members?
  10. That was a joke you gay sod!
  11. Think Dave Stewart produced 'It's raining men' TAKE THAT IN ONE MINUTE The band were originally put together to be the English answer to New Kids On The Block Legendary northern soul DJ and Hi-NRG innovator Ian Levine produced several of their early hits Prior to fame, Gary had played organ with Ken Dodd, and Robbie had a bit part in Brookside In 1992 they went on the 'Safe Sex' tour, backed by the Family Planning Association Mr Blobby knocked them off the Christmas #1 spot in 1993 When the band split up The Samaritans set up telephone help lines to counsel distraught fans Anyway, this thread's way to gay for me, I'm off to Stoke, where men are men (and sheep are frightened)

Anyway I said I'd wear something outrageous and to me a vest is just that! Not worn one since I was 11. Fcuk it they're northern soul
  19. Number one, what were you doing in a gay club? Number two, don't dwell on toilets (subject of) in gay clubs. Lastly number three, avoid usage of the phrase "blow me" in such matters.
  20. I remember him being involved in Heaven. Also Weather Girls, high energy etc + Take That's first producer. Year's ago we had a lodger called Greg living with us once, a real thug hard nut. He told a tale of giving a couple of 'nice boys' a lift to and from the Heaven Club. My mate said, "so it's fair to say then Greg, that you took two gays to heaven and back"!
