If it was free to get in who gives a toss? Some would. But would you take money from people and play them pressings?
-
Soul Night Disgrace
What circumstances make it appropriate Mick? Would people be paying to listen to those turds?

If my understanding of Ged's post is - it's alright to play pressings of Frank Wilson and Lou Pride out, because otherwise you wouldn't have heard them much over the last 20 years.. Then with respect, I'm sorry but I strongly disagree. In the last 20 years you would, should, or could have got these sounds on tape and listened to them at home or in the car. Who has the right to embark on such a false moral crusade? Having rare original singles played out by dedicated collectors/DJ's is what helps keep the music rare and desirable. If thats uncomfortable for some, then to quote Pete S, tough s**t.- A Massive Thanks
Sounds encouraging Anton! Best wishes and a speedy recovery. Ian.- Soul Night Disgrace

'This case' you speak of is one of deceit. That much goes without saying I would have thought? Not sure about all deceit (esp in this day and age). Ask a card carrying Christian and see what they say.- Soul Night Disgrace
What Grapevine one's mate?- Soul Night Disgrace
Putting on a 'rare soul night' and playing boots is deceitful. Is that deceit evil? That was your question wasn't it? Ah but would you play them out?- Soul Night Disgrace
? Lost me a bit there Mark.- Soul Night Disgrace
Only a bit? Deceit; 1. the act or practice of deceiving; concealment or distortion of the truth for the purpose of misleading; duplicity; fraud; cheating: Once she exposed their deceit, no one ever trusted them again. 2. an act or device intended to deceive; trick; stratagem. 3. the quality of being deceitful; duplicity; falseness: a man full of deceit. https://dictionary.reference.com/browse/deceit- Soul Night Disgrace
Agree with that Mike. For a credible soul night in a decent sized venue however it's likely they'd have some rare and expensive as well. A balanced mix would perhaps be the best set. I played Pat & The Blenders at the 100 Club once and someone ran on the stage and peered at the label. You know it goes on. They're entitled to do it. You can't stop stage runners. Is it worth the shame of pretending to be something you're not? - Soul Night Disgrace
