  1. The first is on Laurie- lr-3462 advance release love, you possess me/ what you're doing to me. the second is Laurie-lr-3477 advance release- "Gerard" only- happiest man/ when all the bells have rung. I can find references to the first one- but not really any love for it. The second one seems a bit more known and in demand. Are these more common than I am finding? Thanks-M Ps- I am seriously stupido with clips and pics here- I have a couple of clips I'm trying to load up at photobucket-elvisluvs- (I think) 1022 reggae folder.
  2. #400399002023 thanks-m
  3. Since I'm using both Northern Soul & TS in the title- I figured there might be a few folks who want to hear 2 clips of the Elaine Brooks and the pushers 45 from Vibra. The painted one. Yes I know I'm crazy. Auction starts tomorrow night US for 1 day. If my link doesn't work- please search elvisluvs. If you just want to hear the clips- head to photobucket- user elvisluvs, 1022 reggae album, the bluegreen label videos. Thanks very much-M
  4. I don't know if this is the case or not; the bidder may have been trying to scare/ bluff other potential bidders away by creating a "wow , that's a lot of bids" scenario. -m
  5. The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost- Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I"” I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------/////----/--//// The passion here for the music is amazing. I was hoping for insight with appreciation of the music. Thanks for the lively discussion and helpful suggestions-m
  6. Inspired by watching a few videos in the " discoveries 6ts/ 7ts thread", I would love if a few ( or more) videos could be linked hear to give me a morsel of a hint of a clue as to what's "northern soul". Very, very appreciated- m
  7. Hi George - the p2p term is spot on. I don't know of Bob Irwin. I never really thought about smaller studios; your analysis really explains a lot. Thanks again-m Ps- There' s a pretty good chance I will be getting more 45's from the vibra- sound studios . If & when, I will try to follow up this thread.
  8. Hi George- I wasn't understanding how the pay to play concept worked. So there might be hundreds of different labels out of this studio? You answered a lot. The only other thing I was looking for was anything on Robert Berry. I thought with the interest in the Jimmy Lane, there might be other sought after records with his input. Or anything about him. Very appreciated-m
  9. Apologies first- I posted this on another forum. No replies so far- so I thought try here. As part of the couple of records from a friend included the jimmy lane disc- I need help on a couple of others. They are both from the vibra-sound studios. I assume both have robert berry as the producer. I didn't listen to them. The vibra one is quite dirty so so shape. Thanks in advance-m
  10. I haven't been spinning any of these- just thought they might be a decent addition here-m
  11. Got a chance to take a pic... pic is way too big- oops
  12. Hi Ricky - it does have the same runout #s. Hi John- this cheap yankee would prefer the first, but I'm still thrilled with the last. Thank you both -m Ps- when I get a bit more motivated- I will post up a pic.
  13. Sorry Dave if I was a bit confuddled. I meant to sell through his auctions. Much appreciated-m
  14. I hope this is ok- I searched through several pages . I am really only familiar by the weekly sales posting here. Could anyone share their experience? And would I assume if you had 1 or 2 decent 45's, you probably would not be in the auction. If any members would prefer anonymity, feel free to pm me thanks again-mark
  15. Ashamed to say I haven't listened. I grabbed several crates from a friend today. A quick look through most everything - there were several "private press" looking labels centered around vibrasound studios, schenectedy ny. Before anyone gets too excited (anyone= me ;) ) , the jimmy lane almost looks too good. Just throwing it out there- has anyone heard of a boot of this? It is the full yellow label with no design on it. Would anyone know the deadwax #'s so I can be a bit more sure if real or not? If it is real- is this a pretty good find? Thanks so much-Mark
