Firstly, upon entry it looked different. Huge banner on Stage took the place of the decks. Which had been placed on top right corner. It then made perfect sense after a mind blowing set by Simon Ingham. Carl and Maria Willingham came to the decks. Obviously Carl is in a Wheel Chair. So a humble move by Baz to accommodate. Listen the simple things are often the best. We were treated to some excellent music. 👌 so total respect 🙏 all involved. Such a thoughtful move. Both rooms were packed. I sat with the Bolton crew. Davey Bates brought me a tea bag . No cake said as I have heart problems am not allowed any. Want proper cup of tea next time fella. Earl Grey sir 😁 Caught up with few my mates from Dundee who travelled. Many others and Dave Rimmer, talking about music policies at our respective Clubs. Well as with Culcheth it's on the money in my opinion. Mick Howard played a blinder, modern room not my thing but was heaving. Great night. Truly all things Soulful 10/10 Baz.

Tweeked the sound system. Sound quality was near perfect. Typical Soul night error. We forgot to wind up the tone arm on righthand deck. It played a little heavy. 😁. We soon fixed it. Music was excellent, George Falzon warm up was excellent mix, Birthday boy Kevin McCaffrey played a blinder of underplayed. Set the tone, Liz Mahoney warmed up a room building in numbers. Her set was quite exceptional classics, modern and rarely played. Mick Howard didn't disappoint a fantastic set. Then Chris Barr took us through to midnight another great selection. Floor was still busy at just before 1am. Think it says it all. Thank you from all locations who turned up. Dave

Bang on the money, Sound system matches it. Martins 15 inch speakers x 4. We took advice on the output. So powerful no need to use base bins as the speakers cope with the range of sound. Which is amazing. Bought new headshells and styluses for the Techincs 1210's. Enjoy it Mick.

Not an easy task going back. Trying to reinstate those long lost days. We are trying hard. Our DJ line-ups certainly attract characters not seen in quite a while. We do it differently. We are going to continue to do so.

AKA Ed Battin I could not think of a better Venue, Crowd or Event than Tiffany’s to get back behind the wheels of steel. It’s a privilege to have been asked to be a guest DJ in July! I won’t go on about Tiffany’s soul club , it’s promotors aims or policy , other than saying to many that know me personally ( from a life in “ the rare soul scene “ in all its eras ) or by site attending event’s wherever they are !! You need to be there and be a part of an Experience and joy ! That is All about Soul , The crowd , the DJs , connecting through the music in that moment with an atmosphere that fuels our passion and thirst for Soul in our lives ! Special memories to those there at that moment in that place and no others !! Those who know will know !! A Bold statement and opinion Eh ! That I have to back up as Ed Battin the DJ with my choice of tunes when and how they’re played live on the night! No pressure then ! lol To justify the faith of the lads in booking me to DJ I’ll step out of my comfort zone and the shadows! lol With some background and Self promotion of Ed Battin the DJ ! To me DJing is a craft , learned with practice over time! Which I was blessed to begin in my early teens with guidance from one of my closest lifelong friends Martyn Ellis , ( a pain in the arse but ultimate Live DJ on our scene) since when I’ve played alongside most of who are often considered as the best among the rare/northern scenes over many years. Many becoming good friends through our shared passion for Soul ! No point in irrelevant Name Dropping lol but will say the respect is mutual and appreciated to this day! Bretby Country Club ( for my good mate Sam Moore ) New Century sc events for Chris & Marcel Llandudno All-nighters and Alldayers. Soulfeet All-nighters- starlight club Leister( as a resident for my mate Stuart with DJs you may know Guy , Keb , Dave , Davey and my baby soul sister Jane ! Prestatyn weekender ( for Andy and the soultown boys ) Niel Rushtons awesome Newquay Weekenders and Soulution events Edinburgh soul weekenders at the Minto with Zander , Soul Sam , Ginger , and many of the outstanding Scottish DJs of the highest calibre Penicuik Alldayers - Scotland and countless nights events and parties too many to list ! Often with misspelled or wrong name on fliers like Baltic Barton ( Tony’s fliers lol) , Batty etc. a source of amusement I never bothered to correct . Because as a DJ it’s about being up there playing the tunes connecting with the Crowd in a set that flows and builds on the dance floor to leave All wanting more from the next dj or next event ! It’s not about Collections or value of records ! As a great tune is heard as a great tune whether £5 or £ 5000 ! It’s about sharing our Love of Soul music- hearing- dancing for enjoyment, creating or recalling memories of great events and people ! Only known to those attending events feeling that buzz and pleasure Soul music brings to our lives ! Whether Friends who’ve heard me play and want more or those intrigued by my message - agreeing or not! Great to catch up with few Lancastrians. Not seen Glen and Mary for 5 years. Nice chat with Penni and Few others. Couple of photos taken on the night. Came home just after 11 as my hands were tingling. So left as precaution.

Yes we don't really like to willy wave. Though it's worth a note . We have an original Tony's Empress DJ who sets up our sound equipment Ed Battin. So basically. It's sound perfection for DJs. The floor it's a dream to dance on. You just have to come witness and dance your socks off .
