Any chance you could give examples of the tunes you are talking about please?
I have always been confused as to what mid tempo and below mid tempo is.
Joan,
I will be putting myself up to be shot at,they are all good soul tunes but in my view not dance tunes, but lets go
Lonely Girl. Annabell Fox.
Ocean Of Love. Nancy Wilson.
The Thrill Of loving you. Jimmy Radcliffe.
No Rest For the worried. Clarence Williams.
Call me. Emmitt Long.
Soul searcher. Eddy Hughes.
Iam sorry if some of these tunes are some folks favs, but it only my opinion

As Simon(Imberboy) was on about on Events look backs, the last few nighters that ive attended about 3-4,ish the Djs start putting lullaby music on that kills the floor and its not even as fast as mid tempo music,I like my soul music from R&B to up to date soul, but it has to be DANCE MUSIC,
I think some Djs get a little bit carried away.
Any thoughts.

Women door staff?
Has the world gone absolutely bonkers?
I am a Northern man who likes things reet n proper, you do not have women headmasters in Yorkshire schools and you do not have male tea ladies!
I watched a program once about astronaughts n stuff, they had a woman go up in space to do cooking and tidying for the cosmonaughts but there was a risk of their wombs blowing up in orbit so the idea was scrapped.
O,Dear,Simon,
I think you have just put a price on your head
Did you enjoy your tea trolly rally

Did Levine, Searling and Winstanley ever dance?
Was too busy dancing to police the other dancers.
One thing I am eternally gratefull is that the music dictates whether you dance not your Auntie Agnes or "best friend" saying "come on get up have a dance...enjoy yourself"
Ive seen a picture of Mr,Levine, dancing
yes it was that good.

A record stamper is the same same a fingerprint it's unique to that release. the harder counterfeiters try and replicate the more they mess up. It would be better to do a totally different press and try and convince it's another "different press" from another area and plant.
with records we always have the original to scrutinize against the counterfeit, with antiques there is not a definitive blueprint, so that gives a loophole for the skilled and inventive forger.
With records paper is the biggest problem, the paper technology has moved on so far.... but having said that 60s book pages could be used, those blank pages at the front...then you have to find the dyes, most are now illegal as they were cancer causing.. I'd say out of all the things to forge and be successful the hardest to replicate and deceive are records. That's why I document all matrix #'s, widths, etc.. so far every attempt and forgery of NS classic or in-demand titles have been blatantly obvious (i think).
But I do believe there may have been a few unissued tape finds that may have been pressed up. But even that can be clumsily done..ie Toby Bullard etc.
Reference Frank Wilson, first you have to have the original press to copy from.. that may be a tricky task in itself.
Thanks John,
One thing when you come on S/S, or Ian,I always come off site a bit wiser.
Kind Regards,Kev

it would probably be computer technology that would make it stand out as a boot. you would probably have to replicate the materials and processes from the 60's to stand a chance of pulling it off. The vast majority of fakes in any collecting market get found out.
Chalky,
If the British Museum, can be fooled by some fakes, whats our chances then?

At a soul night, and a bloke decides to walk straight down the middle of the dance floor with a full tray of drinks
Another time a old mate went to the toilet, opened this door and all mops and buckets fell out.
And the same mate was at Bretby nighter, and a punter tried to do a hand stand next to him,he nearly exits out the big windows
And me I had a bottle of fizzy water explode at nighter

I saw a Yum Yums boot go through ebay at nearly £200 a month or two back.
Any one else see it, think it was sold by A45Heaven so it wouldn't have been a bargain original.
Best Darren
I sold my Yum Yums,Boot for £150,about 5 or 6 years ago.

Lullaby N/soul
in All About the SOUL
Spot on Mate,
Its nice to know Iam not the only one that thinks this,Djs watch the dancers faces grimace as they walk off the dance floor.
