  1. in the 90s i saw about 2 dozen copies of ree flores for sale snapping one up myself. but i never saw a copy of little willie faulk. i only knew that by the likes of ted massey playing it. JM says its ten years since he had a copy of RF. but in 2002 john gave me £400 for it which was a good price and i only sold it because i thought

it will never go any higher in a million years  . obviously he sold it quickly for a profit

  2. the original is styrene and bell sound stamped and the just sunshine logo is coloured in a gold/yellow

the re issue is also bell sound stamped but on vinyl and the logo is the same colour as the rest of the label

i think these were done when the record went big in the 70s. i think they are legit but pressed up to meet

demand . anybody know any different?

  4. Hi Marc,

I think one of the main reasons for the price resurgence in 45s like Betty Lloyd etc is the fact that many people who returned to the UK scene hadn't heard these records first time round. Once they wanted to start DJing then it was scramble to find something 'different' (at least to their ears).

most of the people that have come back to the scene in the last 10 years still havent heard of the

    four tracks

it is a quality tune but not rare at all. but when a tune is very indemand, rarity doesn`t come into it where price tags are concerned on this scene. Very nice on a clean white demo tho

  7. Can't see how shorter can be better Dave - especially something as good as this 45 you could bring on the 12" for me!

I'll take another listen to that middle bit...

...or maybe play it at the Friendship instead! thumbsup.gif

i always seem to go 7in rather than 12in. our bri is worse he hates anything over 5minutes long

dealer might have it for a 3 figure sum. i paid 40 quid for it in the mid 90s then sold it on a few

years later. then a couple of years ago our brian found one in holland of all places for 6 euros......

marvellous tongue.gif . ebay is your best bet but its dropping on one

  9. I don't think they're different mixes, as such, Val.

On the "I Don't Wanna Leave You" side the intro is shorter (by a few seconds) on the UK copy.

On the "Just Don't Pay" side, from memory its exactly the same UK & US but both sides are slightly more 'muffled' on the UK copy - which has probably more to do with mastering than mixing.

I bought the UK copy as a new release - loved it and lived it for years.

It was 3-4 years later that I first heard the US copy on a tape, heard the additional few seconds on the intro and was shocked at the clarity!

So, although the UK copy is scarcer the US copy is the one to own to listen to!

    Sean

the uk copy misses out the long instrumental bit in the middle of just dont pay making it better IMVHO

i dont wanna leave you is edited as well  . better to own on uk as far as im concerned. as for clarity

ive had both but never noticed much difference

  10. i think (know) he got greedy for a while and had em up at buy it now @$1300 but couldnt shift them

now hes decided to let the market do the talking which is common sense really. mine stands me @150

quid so im not that bothered but you have to feel for all the people who paid a lot for it. swings

    and roundabouts i suppose
