  1. Riccardo and the 4 Most - There’s A Reason (Foremost) Vg+ £125 Killer private press rarity that featured on a recent Shades of Sorrow comp. Just the one YouTube clip part testimony to the fact it barely ever shows up. Should be £200+ but priced to sell as in need of funds. Had this for some years but has to make way for new arrivals. Cheapest you’ll find this one! https://youtu.be/3YSJ4qiJmnU Contrails - Make Me Love You/Feel So Fine (Millage) Mint- £50 Stunning copy of this increasingly hard to find garage soul double sider. Killer Shades of Sorrow style lowrider topside with a cracking lesser known northern dancer on the flip. Two sides both right for now. Bargain. https://youtu.be/V7EduRbHxYE?si=NAdGUAOI070_3OCm Jonesetts - Stop, Look and Listen/Once I Had A Love (Cougar) Ex £40 Not had a copy of this gorgeous double sided girl group sweet soul for about four years, in which time it has increased in value quite considerably! With a couple of sales toping £100. Only copy on Discogs is £80+ and that’s from Germany so add the tax! Reasonably priced, two great sides and a tough 45! https://youtu.be/afEUtJSKc_k https://youtu.be/ITfOV3-iA4M PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 2. Jonas (James) Dockery - I’m In A World Of Gloom (Thomas) Ex £150 The barely ever seen Jonas Dockery 45 on Thomas. A Soul Craft production with James Dockery (under a slightly different moniker) on vocals. A brilliant slab of under the radar funk edged northern on plenty of wants lists (if you know, you know 😉) but very very few playlists (well none that I’ve seen anyway). The acetate (albeit a slightly different mix) sold at over £250 some years ago on eBay and I have seen for sale on Soul Source previously at £1000, this issued version has appeared in eBay just four times and Discogs four times, can’t find a single copy mentioned in sales on any of the FB groups either. Just the one YouTube entry (with the exception of the acetate) too. Don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/C3yzA5iWpK4 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 3. ***SALE*** prices 24 hours ONLY Bit of a short term financial shortfall here so here are three absolute monsters in waiting at 20% off original price! Be quick and grab a bargain, funds needed over next 24 hours so these will go back up or back in the box if unsold! Georgia Soul Twisters - My Love Tonight (Mainstream) Vg+ £200 Reluctant sale here. Killer raw, funk edged R&B influenced group 45 that’s as rare as hen’s teeth. Barely known and with hardly any exposure, thanks to it’s ridiculous rarity, only available on issue this side and it really never turns up. Bags of potential in right hands with appeal across Northern, R&B scenes. Don’t sleep. Misfits - Two, Three Or Twelve (Trump) Ex £200 Mega rare. On the wants list of pretty much of those who know, on the playlist of virtually no one! Rarely seen, rarely heard garage soul banger that sits up there with the very best of the genre IMHO. With other big hitters reaching £400-£500+ this seems like a steal. Don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/PiG_NQ6QWFg Gene Yarbrough - The Meeting Place part 1 & 2 (Jerma) Mint- £80 I am inundated with enquiries every time I list this, and what copies there were have dried up completely. It’s last Discogs sale was £100 and have seen at £150 recently, testimony to how demand has grown and grown in the few months since I listed the first copy where it was virtually unknown. The A Side has a couple of YouTube entries, but demand is all about the flip ‘part 2’ which has only recently been added courtesy of @BarrieWaddington aka @A45Heaven (who’s no bad judge of a 45 given he was responsible for discovering many of Stafford’s finest plays and plenty more before and after). A killer 45 IMHO and one that has yet to reach its peak price IMHO. https://youtu.be/B1FBMgXgLUo?si=XWWPzKyKIPalWpiv https://youtu.be/xuk448cSt5w?si=zuC_7H9CRFFI4Zzo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 4. Terrifics - I’ll Get Him Back/We’re So Young (Diamond Jim) G+\Vg- ***£250***HEAR BOTH SIDES IN FULL*** ‘A double helping Detroit Northern Soul goodness - sitting at its utmost impossible-to-cquire status now lasting over 6 decades.’ That’s how John Manship described this Detroit grail 45 back in May of this year when auctioning a super clean issue copy, achieving a final price of £1,523. An assured rarity that is never turning up in any kind of quantity. Two fantastic sides of girl group northern magic, owned by very very few, coveted by many. The downside is this copy ain’t pretty, multiple light hairlines and a fair few deeper marks and scratches. Difficult to grade but I’d say G+/Vg- ‘We’re Too Young’ side playing slightly better overall with recording drowning out much of the lighter surface noise. Full sound clips below so you be the judge. May benefit from a professional clean and sone work by the master of repair @YannVatiste. ***HEAR BOTH SIDES IN FULL*** https://youtube.com/shorts/mZNfAygvK3k?feature=shared https://youtube.com/shorts/bvykzwgmSZo?feature=shared Payment via PayPal friends and family or bank transfer. 5. Andy Belvin - Love Is A Game (Del-Re-Vau) Mint- £50 Killer R&B rarity/obscurity that I’ve never had or seen before. Just the one YouTube clip with barely any views so doubtlessly a rarely heard tune. Massive potential in the right hands! https://youtu.be/yvXCiY3mPt4 Phil Parry - There’s No One But I/(I’ve Been) Working On The Railroad (St Clair) Mint- £50 Brilliant garage soul/R&B double sider here that’s barely known (got a feeling this had sone exposure via one or two RSF DJs (?) definitely bags of potential here too! One YouTube clip for ‘No One’ and no sign previously of ‘Railroad’ until I uploaded this. Tough 45 to find too! https://youtu.be/H4_SQ8nneh0 https://youtube.com/shorts/ix4s26vCT6s?feature=shared B.B. Daddy - Down In A Bag (New Orleans Soul) Mint- £50 Fabulous Nola R&B obscurity that again feels like it has lots of potential given its raw and funk edged blues sound. Another I’ve never come across before with only the one YouTube clip. Reliably informed this is someone better known moonlighting but source couldn’t remember exactly who (?). https://youtu.be/DnxFIv-BWfs Toby Oak & Son - Do You Know c/up £50 Last copy of this current c/up, killer funk edged banger that sounds bang on for now. Already sold the rest of the stock I had to four well-known upfront DJs so only a matter of time before this one goes up in price. Super tough garage soul banger with bags of potential (dropped this at the last LockUp and it got a great reaction). Think it’s probably had a few plays in the past without ever really taking off but feels bang on for now. 7. Sonics - Come Home Baby (White Cliffs) Vg ***HEAR IT*** £200 Super tough 45 to acquire with the few that have surfaced mostly in similar shape (pretty sure this is a recording issue as this one looks Vg+ - check out sone of the other YouTube clips for comparison) and seem to have still sold at a premium (£250-300 on three or four occasions). Stunning group soul ballad that’s long been sought after stateside by lowrider and group collectors alike. Some damp mottling to label, plays close to Vg+ but has a couple of light clicks on intro ***HEAR IT** clip below from actual 45. https://youtube.com/shorts/ex2yi1sO9Hk?feature=shared Jonesetts - Stop, Look and Listen/Once I Had A Love (Cougar) Ex £60 Not had a copy of this gorgeous double sided girl group sweet soul for about four years, in which time it has increased in value quite considerably! A killer lowrider that seems somewhat overlooked in favour of more expensive and elusive 45s. A shame because every home should have one of these! Sublime garage soul ballad that’s pretty hard to find, one on Discogs currently in same grade at twice the price + tax! Can’t ever search this on YouTube either so assume link below is a ‘hidden’ private upload. https://youtu.be/DZfbHevGilM Jonny Rome and the Second Thought - Little Sad Eyes (Brite Leaf) Vg+ £40 Pretty much unknown and gorgeous sweet soul ballad from the artist better known for his one time Stafford play on Philips (worth checking out if you don’t know it as it’s great). No trace of this on YouTube (clip is this copy), managed to get a few once I heard it, all went privately except this one. A future Shades of Sorrow track? 10. Lennox Grey And The Crowd - She Satisfies Me (Teo) Vg (plays above grade on the whole ***HEAR IT***) £100 Superb and virtually unknown Islands Soul/Funk banger that simply never shows up! Like so many islands 45s this one looks rough but plays pretty tough, visually Vg but after sone initial light crackle it eases into a nice Vg+ player (***HEAR IT*** for yourself, link below from actual 45). Not sure when you’ll see another one of these and it sounds right for now. One for the more upfront DJs me thinks. https://youtube.com/shorts/v73KjhXCsyQ?feature=shared PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. A former Stafford c/up that’s perfect for today’s more discerning and open minded crowds with a killer blue-eyed lowrider ballad on the flip, that’s taken off in the US with CarolinaSoul selling a copy on eBay for a staggering £163 in 2023! https://youtu.be/jY-uUI4FgfA Eddy Morris - So Does My Heart/Come On (Look) Mint- £100 Another fabulous double sider, with a seemingly forgotten northern oldie on one side, but it’s the simply gorgeous ballad flip that’s about to cause a real stir amongst lowrider collectors- this one’s absolute quality, tough to find and will cost twice this in a year’s time. https://youtu.be/3CP3NyHl9aA https://youtu.be/wGYvI_sgtoM Bobby Williams - My Baby Cries (Tonorous) Mint- £35 Somewhere at the intersection between Funk, R&B and Country comes this infectious garage soul dancer that seems pretty much unknown outside of certain circles. 13. Scotty Williams - Fear (Mona-Lee) Mint- £125 Robert Walker & Soulful Strings c/up a monster for Guy Hennigan at Stafford and one that will evoke many great memories from those that attended. 14. Sherri Gibbs Backed By The Quovans - Let Him Go/Oh My Baby (Philly Sound’s) Ex £250 One of the biggest lowrider tunes to have crossed over to the European soul scenes. Gorgeous, haunting female sweet with a beat with full on male group harmony backing. File alongside other big ticket lowrider 45s like the Sophisticates on Mutt (selling for £500 + now) been rising and rising in recent years with sales well over £300. Becoming increasingly hard to find, my first copy for almost 5 years. Lovely clean copy. https://youtu.be/w6i_UP63dBM Scotty Williams - Fear (Mona-Lee) Mint- £150 Robert Walker & Soulful Strings c/up a monster for Guy Hennigan at Stafford and one that will evoke many great memories from those that attended. Still tough to find and this one’s in lovely condition! https://youtu.be/y_Es_bJl5Yk Topics - Try A Little Love (Heavy Duty Records WD) Mint- £50 Just like the above never seen a WD of this before and another that’s been rising in price and demand in recent times. Will appeal to lowrider, northern and crossover collectors this. There really are so few high quality sweet soul and group 45s under three figures these days that my advice would be to mop up those that are because they are all rising in price and quickly! https://youtu.be/RUx1UoSaKSo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 15. Creations -Peek-A-Boo (Liberty Bell USA) Mint- £200 Gorgeous Mint- copy of this killer lowrider in demander. A tough 45 to acquire with prices ranging from £250-£350 elsewhere, priced to sell. 16. New Holidays – Maybe So Maybe No (Soulhawk) VG+ WOL (some light marks plays well with light crackle on intro ***HEAR IT***) £100 Still massively in demand having crossed over from lowrider to northern collectors in recent years, killer atmospheric Detroit soul at it’s very best. Like a lot of copies this one isn’t the cleanest but overall grades VG+ with just some gentle crackle on intro before the recording overpowers any further background noise. WOL (and no I didn’t write my name on the label 😃). Still probably the cheapest copy you’ll find this was a while ago somewhere near £300 for a decent copy. Anyway ***HEAR IT*** for yourself below with a clip from actual 45. https://youtube.com/shorts/ADgx7WpT_2M?feature=shared PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 17. Vicki Starr – Cut Me Loose/I Need Your Love (Lynn’s Records) Mint- £400 Magnificent copy of this Vicki Williams/Styles outing under yet another moniker. A very rarely seen semi-known double sider and a very reluctant sale from my own collection. Top side is killer a semi-known slab of funk infused R&B with HUGE northern potential. Flip it for an unknown haunting slab deep soul that will appeal to the lowrider collectors. This 45 has appeared just a handful of times on eBay and Discogs combined, Manship auctioned a copy some 14 years ago and even then it went for over £300. Unlikely you’ll find another copy at set sale anytime soon. No YouTube clips until now… https://youtube.com/shorts/Qtd3Lhpce0o?si=EYHTnkSFrJJ0_XVl https://youtube.com/shorts/Py75FvN7tdU?si=XfmATahQwm9l7D1G Robert Moore – Lookin’ For A Woman (Hollywood) Mint- £100 Storming funk edged northern to a tee! A seemingly very rare 45 to obtain with barely any copies going through eBay or Discogs, this has enormous potential in the right hands IMHO! https://youtu.be/YaE3pHohov0?si=ELY2DwAdco9skQ3W Hal ‘Trotter’ – Think About It (Grand Land) Mint- £75 Last but by no means least comes this killer funk edged R&B dancer that has sailed under the radar for far too long. A hard 45 and perhaps that’s why it’s never had the exposure it deserves, like all of the above it sounds so right for now. It’s singular and barely viewed YouTube entry proving it’s obscurity. If you want a relatively exclusive to liven up your set then look no further. https://youtu.be/C9hQUeiS21Q?si=dNIb0YqLuMiiLWYo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 18. Comic Books - The First Time In My Life/Young Blood (Dynamic Sound) Ex £100 Mega rare lowrider obscurity here that barely ever comes to market and when it does it’s usually wrecked. A super clean copy here and at a bargain price. Don’t ignore the uptempo R&B flip either! https://youtu.be/ynDUb9y_U5g https://youtu.be/FnkwHaYJrkY Vanguards - It’s To Late For Love/ The Thought of Losing Your Love (Lamp) WOL Vg+ £65 Super rare RED stock copy of this killer ballad, seems price has risen on this to anywhere between £75 and £100 since I last had one and that’s no surprise. Terrific storming funk edged northern group dancer on flip! Only red one I’ve ever seen tbh. https://youtu.be/SxLLU_MuElQ https://youtu.be/i_qZi9JRZXI Johnny Rivera & Tequila Brass - The Clown (Cotique) Ex £50 Absolute killer moody Latin lowrider that seems to be completely under the radar! Tough 45 to acquire too. Infectious. https://youtu.be/NY1GDrE5T4E Wallace Brothers - I Need Someone (Jewel) Mint- £40 Demand has seen the price on this rise and rise, it wasn’t long ago it was a tenner, last couple I’ve seen have been £60! Killler lowrider 45 that will likely rise further in the months ahead. Don’t let the label damage put you off either, vinyl is Mint- These Gents - Yesterday Standing By (WM) Ex £35 Finally a glorious and increasingly difficult lowrider 45 to find in decent condition. Lots of demand from across the pond with many of the better copies long since filed away in collections. Last couple of copies flew out with some disappointed late comers, another bargain by today’s prices- don’t sleep! Lovely black issue copy too! https://youtu.be/mQSMV8kVs4c?si=wvpQz1dj1GEAHsqn PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 19. Ultimate Blacks - I Like To Be/The World Is A Turmoil (Hitstown) Vg+ (visual grade, as per all copies plays with significant background noise) OFFERS OVER £200 Killer double sided grail that so very rarely comes to market. Topside is a haunting lowrider cut that’s hugely sought after by sweet soul collectors. Flip is a virtually unknown funk edged group dancer that sounds bang on for now (never before on YouTube this side hear it below). Last sale on Discogs was at £600! Visually this one grades a strong Vg+ but as with all copies there is significant background noise due to a pressing fault. Playback is slightly better on the funk edged side where the recording overpowers the background to a degree. ***HEAR IT*** (clips from both sides of actual 45 can be heard on my YouTube channel below. 20. The Starlights – Soul Road (Major Records) Mint- £75 Last copy! Managed to bag three of these off a US contact, killer garage soul dancer already on one or two playlists. An acetate of the same recording (albeit under a slightly different name) sold on eBay around 18 months ago for around £900 presumably assumed to be unreleased! One to snap up now before it inevitably becomes a three figure 45! https://youtu.be/BvHBC2ZTRXU?si=bNOJh3hze-V4eiwN Toby Oak and Son (c/up) Mint- £50 I have a VERY small quantity of this current c/up, killer funk edged banger that sounds bang on for now. Already sold half my stock to four well-known upfront DJs so only a matter of time before this one goes up in price. Another Gene Yarbrough/Riddles etc. – be quick! https://youtube.com/shorts/zFZ07Zerboc?feature=shared Johnny Truitt – Sad Times (Soul Unlimited) Mint- £50 Funky crossover circa ’73 with bags of potential, tough 45 too. Don’t ignore the deep flip either! https://youtu.be/ylQf--PHpSg?si=tFF4xE9Iu7seEDJs Johnny Riviera and Tequlia Brass – The Clown (Cotique) Vg++ £50 My favourite of the three, a potential monster of a tune IMHO. Latin infused ballad that’s an absolute joy. Seems pretty under the radar will appeal to northern and lowrider fans I suspect. Love it! https://youtu.be/NY1GDrE5T4E?si=Dvh2lfYMk3KzOyJW PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £5.00 recorded, £9.00 registered and insured, Europe £10 tracked and signed. USA £15 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. Please note I do not hold records for more than 12 hours unless agreed in advance by DM. Thanks for your understanding.
  21. Thee Nite Dreamers - Later For You (Alwin) Vg+ £150 Super tough garage soul banger with loads northern potential. Think this has probably had a few plays in the past without ever really taking off but feels right for now. https://youtu.be/WkmhxQooziA King Edward & His B.D.’s - MYLTT Vg (plays better) £100 Must be their rarest 45? Hardly ever seen anywhere. Great slab of garage soul, with bags of potential to crossover to northern rooms. Lots of light hairlines but plays lower end Vg+ a bargain IMHO. https://youtu.be/MExdeuVZ3v4 Skeets Williams and The Merger – I Don’t Care (Commonwealth) Ex £50 Had plays in Europe thanks to forward thinking DJs like Henning Borm. Funk edged northern at its very best! Will rocket in price as it’s far from common, if you missed out on a copy when I managed to secure a small number of store stock copies a few months ago then here’s your chance to redeem yourself. Be quick, will be four figures before long! PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £5.00 recorded, £9.00 registered and insured, Europe £10 tracked and signed. USA £15 tracked. 22. Third Point - Poor Boy/Spirit (Tide) Mint- £50 Killer twofer here, tip side is a gorgeous lowrider tune that’s still flying under the radar as good as many three times the price IMHO, flip it for a funk edged 70s northern oldie that’s ripe for revival. Seems to be around the £75 mark these days but plenty of room to grow IMHO. https://youtu.be/qaj9aGHuPuo https://youtu.be/oWLzxbfNGTo Webbs - We Belong Together/I Want You Back (Verve) Ex £40 Sublime Lowrider group harmony that seems criminally cheap given the current demand for this type of sound (that said seen this at £75 and above so on the rise perhaps already). Flip it for some superior (and seemingly forgotten) frantic northern group harmony. Double bubble. (N.B. Believe this is slightly rarer as has artists name misspelled as Webbs.) https://youtu.be/dhUTPOzXQJU https://youtu.be/_ej0hgpHt98 Justice V - That Certain Tenderness/Things Get Worse (Panorama) Mint- £20 From the garage label that never stops giving comes this totally under the radar double sider. Things Get Worse is a thumping garage soul dancer that sounds right for now, flip is a lovely ballad with horns, backing harmonies and a gorgeous arrangement. You can hear both sides at the link below, one to watch IMHO! https://youtu.be/ayGuVLXF9U0 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 23. Monique - Truth/No Body’s Baby (Maurci) Ex £300 Well it was £2k only a couple of years ago thanks to significant demand from overseas and the fact that it’s rarely appeared for sale for many years leading to a madness eBay auction price. Of course copies have appeared since (well they would wouldn’t they!) and it’s come down to a more modest figure, although still seems to sell for anywhere between £300-£600. Lovely copy of the much, much rarer ‘magic hat’ design label. Still one of the best records ever IMHO - just sublime and, now the fuss is over, affordable again. Flip is a northern dancer worth noting although isn’t in the same class as her other 45s. https://youtu.be/No2_SW26nqw?si=KI7OvbPk2zPkfA5y Webbs - We Belong Together/I Want You Back (Verve) Ex £50 Sublime Lowrider group harmony that seems criminally cheap given the current demand for this type of sound (that said seen this at £75 and above so on the rise perhaps already). Believe this is slightly rarer as has artists name misspelled as Webbs.) https://youtu.be/dhUTPOzXQJU https://youtu.be/_ej0hgpHt98 Wallace Brothers - I Need Someone (Jewel) Mint- £30 Demand has seen the price on this rise and rise, it wasn’t long ago it was a tenner, last couple I’ve seen have been £60! Killler lowrider 45 that will likely rise further in the months ahead. Don’t let the label damage put you off either, vinyl is Mint- PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. 24. Syd Dale - Action Man (Impress 10”) Vg+ £75 Never been a big fan of instrumentals bar a few notable exceptions (Frank Foster, Mike Vickers and one or two others). This exceptionally hard to locate 10” of composer, pianist and conductor Syd Dale compositions that for me is every bit as good and reminiscent of those aforementioned exceptions. Breathtakingly brilliant and would have set many a dance floor of the past on fire. Not seen on any playlists probably thanks to obscurity and rarity - a sleeping monster IMHO! https://youtu.be/AnMr9xUR8Ic Romans - He Don’t Love You (MY) Vg (plays Vg+) £50 ***HEAR IT*** Sold my last one for £150 in decent condition, this one has some pretty dramatic looking marks, but plays Vg+ and easily as well as the copy I sold at twice the price (***HEAR IT*** clip below from actual copy). Had a bit of exposure in Europe but barely any here, fabulous garage soul/R&B on a very collectible label. https://youtube.com/shorts/hCGwUTq8_lA?feature=shared Justice V - That Certain Tenderness/Things Get Worse (Panorama) Mint- £30 From the garage label that never stops giving comes this totally under the radar double sider. 25. Gene Yarbrough - The Meeting Place part 1 & 2 (Jerma) Mint- £100 I am inundated with enquiries every time I list this, and what copies there were have dried up completely. A killer 45 IMHO and one that has yet to reach its peak price IMHO. https://youtu.be/B1FBMgXgLUo?si=XWWPzKyKIPalWpiv https://youtu.be/xuk448cSt5w?si=zuC_7H9CRFFI4Zzo The Four - Good Thing Going (Nashville North) Ex £150 Stupidly rare garage soul stormer that’s had plays on Europe and at more progressive venues in recent times, already started to cross over to the wider northern scene having had plays at Dark Horses and elsewhere. This one won’t stay at this price for long last one I had went privately to a top DJ. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/9bam_gKVjPs Michael Burkes And The Contrasts - Can’t Fight The Feeling (SMS) Mint- £75 Hypnotic funk edged dancer from the label that gave us Papa Bear and The Cubs! Arguably rarer given the few copies to have surfaced and clearly lesser known. Only the one somewhat hidden YouTube clip for this. Has sold for significantly more than this too! https://youtu.be/tNqlKBS9-jI?si=cjDk18HaLx1-Hlw6 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%.
