Garage is the new Northern Vol. 8
Prince Charles and The Royal Tones - What I Live For/Fair Weather Friend (Onyx) Mint- £150 ***Killer Alert*** This would have been massive at any time in the northern scene’s past and almost definitely will be in its future. Storming, uptempo garage soul at it’s very best! Still seems under the radar but is picking up plays via Brian Maguire and Sean Pumfrett in the U.K. as well other more enlightened DJs in Europe. Flip is fantastic too. Hard to find and going to be a monster of a tune. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hxzwpekMw_M https://youtu.be/58CfGq-d_go Riddles - It’s One Thing To Say (Mercury) Mint- (company sleeve) £60 One of THE hottest garage 45s in the U.K. at the moment. Have had six copies and they flew out, with plenty of disappointed enquiries thereafter (last two went via private sales to people who asked me to keep them informed). Gets former big name DJs up to the decks when it’s played too. On the way up and copies have dried up! https://youtu.be/4JQPWsKOQSc Dee Wonder and The Rhythm Fame - What You’ve Done (Go Go G.T.O.) strong Vg £50 The rarer of the two releases of this (the other being on Ware) and have heard mention it’s a different take (although I couldn’t tell any difference). Rumoured to have been played at Stafford and whilst it was known back then I don’t think it ever got played. Right for now? You bet it is! Killer garage soul/R&B that will surprise many and will be known by very, very few. YouTube for reference only, clip from actual 45 on request. https://youtu.be/lbCzM0HIMOE Haunted – Come On Home (Trans World) strong Vg £50 Killer garage soul/R&B version of Jackie Edward’s ‘Come On Home’. Canadian only 45 that recently went for £125 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular, sounds bang on for now. A fair few light marks but plays Vg+ (sound clip available on request). https://youtu.be/OknkELX7l60 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. Please note I do not hold records for more than 12 hours unless agreed in advance by DM. Thanks for your understanding.

***SOLD*** Lovations on Cap City
Lovations - (I Keep Singing) La La La Ooh/Heaven Told Me So (Cap City) Ex £400 Currently one of THE hottest lowrider 45s with demand from all corners of the globe and rightly so. Double sided dynamite, top drawer, hypnotic, lowrider one side, flip it for a slab of classy girl group northern with plenty of mileage left in it. So, so hard to find now with the price rising and rising. ***This is the significantly rarer first issue on Cap City (I’ve seen almost ten times the number of Part 111 copies). You won’t find a cheaper copy on Cap City (one on Discogs currently at £600). Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/hJ3KxiIOwCE https://youtu.be/xgiI_LAScug PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Under the Radar Garage Soul & Blue Eyed Ballads
Faces – I Didn’t Want Her (Regina WD) Mint- £100 Killer (blue eyed?) lowrider group harmony. Seems to be exceptionally rare given the tiny number through eBay and Discogs, pretty much totally under the radar too (except to one or two of the Popcorn collectors), but it’s recent upload to M818joker’s incredibly popular YouTube channel is likely to change that. Bargain, don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/bgwDsYqlHlw Haunted – Come On Home (Trans World) strong Vg £75 Killer garage soul/R&B version of Jackie Edward’s ‘Come On Home’. Canadian only 45 that recently went for £125 on Discogs and believe you me it ain’t common! One I shared to the Groovy Garage group recently that’s proved pretty popular, sounds bang on for now. A fair few light marks but plays Vg+ (sound clip available on request). https://youtu.be/OknkELX7l60 Cadalinas – Bad Girl (Minutemen) Mint- £50 Moody garage/lowrider style ballad that seems virtually unknown except to a few top US collectors. Appeared on two separate labels, both as ridiculously rare as each other by the look of the handful that have gone through eBay and Discogs. Picked up two copies from Europe (one so badly packaged it arrived with a hairline crack, although this one is a lovely Mint-). Could be a great investment this one as it’s rare enough to be worth four times this price! https://youtu.be/l03DTDVCLEM Cadalinas – Bad Girl (Minutement) Vg (Mint- but has hairline crack) £20 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £3.50 registered and insured, £1.85 standard first class, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. USA £12.95 tracked. DM or email gspluck@aol.com to reserve or for more information. ***SOLD***Fortson & Scott - Just A Little Step (Pzazz)
Fortson & Scott - Just A Little Step (Pzazz) Ex £225 No, not ‘Sweet Lover’ but their other - arguably rarer and better- Pzazz 45. For those looking for quality rare and underplayed northern, this is perfect. A sublime dancer with a fabulous spoken intro, how this has never been massive is a mystery. Of the three label variants this is the one I’ve seen least often but to be fair you don’t see any of these ‘often’, last one on Discogs went for £400, this one is priced to sell - be quick! https://youtu.be/1T6-ecuTQfk PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Northern Rarities: Fortson & Scott, Fab Four, Baby Washi
Fortson & Scott - Just A Little Step (Pzazz) Ex £275 No, not ‘Sweet Lover’ but their other - arguably rarer and better- Pzazz 45. For those looking for quality rare and underplayed northern, this is perfect a sublime dancer with a fabulous spoken intro. How this has never been massive is a mystery. Of the three label variants this is the one I be seen least often but to be fair you don’t see ANY of these ‘often’, last one on Discogs went for £400, this one is priced to sell - be quick! https://youtu.be/1T6-ecuTQfk Fabulous Four - If I Knew/Everybody’s Got To Have A Heart (Saintmo) Ex £100 Double sided dynamite! ‘Knew’ remains a criminally underplayed Stafford spin that’s become increasingly sought after in the last year or so as copies have dried up. Flip it for a gorgeous lowrider group ballad that has doubtlessly contributed to demand. https://youtu.be/3bZg3Ciy0P0 https://youtu.be/BSgk7TCT5Bg Baby Washington - It’ll Never Be Over For Me (Sue) Vg+ (slight edge warp, DNAP, and scribble on label flipside - priced accordingly) £35 Less than half book value due to a small edge warp and messy label flip! Everyone has their favourite version of this monster mid tempo killer, this is mine by a country mile. Bargain. https://youtu.be/zh46Wt04t7E PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Sweet & Deep Lowrider Rarities
Third Soul Trio - That’s A Natural Fact/What About This Love Affair (Cabell) strong Vg £250 This double sided obscurity is rarer than ‘Rainy Day’ and has yet to realise its enormous potential. ‘What About This Love Affair’ is fantastic group ballad that’s totally under the radar and was an old Bob A tip. Flip it for an uptempo dancer that sounds bang on for now. A very very tough 45 to find so some exclusivity is guaranteed! Strong Vg, some genre crackle on intro to the slower side which clears up, flip plays Vg+ sound clips from both sides of actual 45 available on request). https://youtu.be/PnhtDjuFBI4 https://youtu.be/HbckK4IMbCw New Trends - My Summer Love (Brooks Records) Vg+ £100 Probably not unknown but pretty sure this is still very much under the radar even in the US, just the two clips on YouTube, only once through Discogs and less than 10 through eBay. Gorgeous group ballad, rarity and obscurity assured. Lower end of Vg+ but plays well with some light crackle on intro, clip from actual 45 available on request). Seen on a few big collectors wants lists so it won’t hang around at this price! https://youtu.be/s-Sv7dleaQQ Sensations - Please Baby Please (Way Out) Vg+ (minor label wear see image) £60 Notoriously hard to find in anything above VG, so I was pretty shocked to find that despite the label wear and some light hairlines this ones in decent shape and plays well (sound clip from actual 45 available on request). Mesmerising group harmony lowrider that grips you from the opening bars. Has sold for £100 in Mint-, priced this one to sell. Don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/UotwjZq5oE8 Frank Turner and The Silver Stars - All For My Kids (Maison De Soul) Mint- £30 Monster deepie on this highly collectable label. This one’s been a collector’s favourite for some time and at the moment at a very affordable price but have seen others of this type rise steeply in value recently. Don’t pass on these while they’re cheap. https://youtu.be/tNx0cspMrpg PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. ***SOLD*** Shades Of Jade on Cenco
Shades Of Jade - Is It Wrong/Affection (Cenco) Mint- £300 ***Sold** Guy’s old New Yorkers (?) c/up from Stafford, still a criminally under played 45 that has perhaps suffered partly from rarity. A big, big tune at Stafford at one point but with turnover of new sounds so high it didn’t get as long as it might have, reactivation well overdue IMHO. But wait … what about that flip? If ‘Wrong’ s underplayed then the flip isn’t far off virtually unknown! Stunning is all I can say and perhaps more suited to current dance floors. Perfect for those ‘rare and underplayed’ rooms no matter which side you choose. Rare one too and in what looks like unplayed condition. https://youtu.be/DxLQLSbGB60 https://youtu.be/1iqSBxSRL3k PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Future Biggies?
Carl Smith - All I Got (Anita) Mint- £150 Mega rare crossover with a delightful Smokey style vocal. Was up until recently covered as Darrow Fletcher and very few copies seem to have surfaced since. On the wants list of a few top collectors across the globe. Not on YouTube, clip available by DM. Could be massive in the right hands and is probably way too cheap given it’s current scarcity. Skeets Williams and The Merger - I Don’t Care (Commonwealth United) Mint- £75 Pick of the three for me. Funk edged crossover at its very best, had some action in Europe and the UK thanks to Henning and one or two others, but is pretty much unknown still, huge potential with this one and not on anyone’s playlists that I’ve seen. Not an easy 45 to get either! https://youtu.be/pyqujE2jNi4 Barbara George - I Got My Guards Up (Hep’Me) Mint- £25 Finally a genuine cheapie but one that appears to have gone completely unnoticed! Sister soul belter on a highly collectible label, again not on YouTube clip available by DM. PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. End of month ***GARAGE SALE***
Chosen Few - Baby Don’t Do It (BFD) Mint- £40 One of the hottest garage soul 45s around at the moment and still affordable. Being dropped by Greg Belson amongst others and copies are beginning to dry up. Won’t stay under £50 for long! https://youtu.be/bHCpf-ZDzA0 Riddles - It’s One Thing To Say (Mercury) Vg (hairline crack in styrene, some clicks otherwise would be Ex) £20 The next hottest? Have had four copies and they flew out, with plenty of disappointed enquiries thereafter. Sadly, this one has a hairline crack and is priced accordingly. Sound file available on request (YouTube for reference only) https://youtu.be/4JQPWsKOQSc Action Brass - When The Spirit Moves Me (Cartay) Mint- (pic sleeve) £25 Had plays in the past but feels right for not, seen on a few playlists so picking up interest again! Nice picture sleeve copy too. https://youtu.be/Yxz1nASeC_E Little Boy Blues - Look At The Sun (IRC) Mint- £25 Harmonica led R&B garage that’s been on Jack White’s playlist amongst others, cracking cheapie! https://youtu.be/AwE9TXK-J5Y Rock-A-Go Go’s - I’m Out To Win You Over (Flower Power) Vg- £20 Plays Vg+ looks rough plays tough, would be £40 in Mint. Killer garage soul banger that’s being dropped by Jack White, Thomas Shore and others. Bargain. https://youtu.be/RIjNYKmhd7I Berrys - Sand And Sea (Apex) Mint- £20 Hypnotic garage ballad (think Shades of Sorrow CDs/MixCloud comps.) not an easy find and moodier than missus! https://youtu.be/pMpg1Qfdgn0 Coachmen - Nothing At All (Bear) Mint- £15 Nice garage mover that seems to have escaped attention so far. https://youtu.be/wGocAyR_VrI PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Lowrider/Northern Grail: Premonitions on Jade
Premonitions - Baby Baby/In Love Together (Jade) Mint- £750 One of THE most in demand and rate double sided group harmony grails. ‘Baby Baby’ is a simply sublime hypnotic lowrider ballad that probably couldn’t be slower if it tried. Flip it for a northern dancer that is still remarkably under played (a victim of its own rarity perhaps) that would be sure to turn more than a few heads in those rare and unplayed rooms and venues up and down the country. Seen at £850 and £1000 in lesser condition, this one is like new! Don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/5m-cHXu4oSQ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz3qVrikxwc PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Killer sweet/deep lowrider 45s £75 and under!
Casinos - Please Love Me (Fraternity WD) Mint- £75 ***SOLD*** Under the radar (maybe because it’s a hard one on a major?) stunning, blue eyed lowrider ballad just waiting to take off. As above a tough 45 to locate so once it’s out there demand and price will inevitably increase. https://youtu.be/9WOYJQb2rQk Paul Varisco & The Milestones - Hey Girl (Marceau from New Orleans) Mint- £50 The best of a very good bunch for me. Made an appearance on a recent Shades of Sorrow MixCloud and rightly so. Stunning lowrider ballad that is still cheap despite being a 45 that’s not easy to find. Not many of this quality still at £50 and under. https://youtu.be/zObX7UEBBX8 Gene Riley - Been So Long (Quality Sound) Ex £35 Another that’s not terribly well known and again is far from an easy find. Quality lowrider ballad that should and will be more expensive once word gets around. Another that’ll definitely be in demand before long. https://youtu.be/0MpE5j5IqfE Frank Turner and The Silver Stars - All For My Kids (Maison De Soul) Mint- £40 Monster deepie on this highly collectable label. Don’t pass on these while they’re cheap. https://youtu.be/tNx0cspMrpg Edwards Generation - Someone Like You (Ghetto) £25 Last but by no means least, the final copy I have of this early Edwards Generation kiddie soul lowrider killer. REDUCED: Fabulistics on Great Potential
REDUCED: Fabulistics on Great Potential Fabulistics - Ooh This Is Love/Nothing But Determination (Great Potential) Mint- (tiny pen mark on ‘Determination’ side barely noticeable - see image) £225 I wondered why this hadn’t sold despite listing it twice, and then realised I’d listed it at £325 and not £225! (Note to self: wear the bloody glasses.) Anyway. reluctant sale from my personal collection, stunning condition on this rarely offered twofer. Topside is a stunning lowrider group ballad, highly sought after across the pond but perhaps yet to realise its huge potential on these shores. Flip it for funk edged group northern that’s really yet to have its day despite some action in more upfront venues in years gone by. Won’t hang around! Bargain Garage Soul and Moody Blue Eyed Ballads
The Chosen Few - Baby Don’t Do It (B.F.D.) Mint- £50 Already getting played by one or two of the better and more progressive DJs (am told Greg Belson dropped it in a set the other weekend). Driving garage soul dancer with killer drums. Not an easy one either, lovely copy, be quick! https://youtu.be/D-yZZPGSUwA Rock-A-Go Go’s - I’m Out To Win You All Over (Flower Power) Vg (looks worse than sounds, minimal noise and mostly overpowered by the recording, ballad flip fairs less well and plays closer to Vg-) £20 Killer garage soul dancer on a couple of playlists so expect interest to rise. Moody ballad flip is nice too, although suffers from some background noise). Right for now? You bet it is! https://youtu.be/PEfMis4AdSQ Action Brass - When The Spirit Moves Me (Cartay) Mint- (with pic sleeve see image) £40 Storming garage soul that’s had some plays in the past without taking off. In a few upfront DJs boxes from what I can understand so likely to see some turntable action again shortly, feels like the right time for this one. Another to buy now while it’s cheap! https://youtu.be/ICpxVg-hIbw Accents - Why (Banger) Mint- £35 My personal favourite of today’s batch, killer moody garage ballad version of Lonnie Mack’s ‘Why’. Gerald Trotter, Fabulistics, Ultimations
Gerald Trotter - The Love In My Heart/One More Hurt (Mo Do) Vg+ £450 Killer ‘lowrider’ deepie that is so rarely offered for sale b/w underplayed storming version of a ‘northern’ classic, one for the rare and underplayed venues. Nice clean copy but please bear in mind like all of the Mo Do output this is a lo-if recording. Not one I want to sell but needs must. Northern/R&B Grail: Doc Oliver on Lucky Inc.
Doc Oliver & The Sergeons - Tighten Up Your Game (Lucky Inc.) Ex (small crescent shaped residue mark on vinyl DNAP the only thing stopping this from being Mint) £325 Incredibly rare and underplayed 45 with HUGE potential in the right hands. Piano driven, uptempo northern in the vein of Little John ‘Heartbreaking Time’ (did this have Stafford plays too, I don’t remember it but could have been one of those played twice and dropped records, certainly wouldn’t have sounded out of place). Perfect for DJs looking for something ‘new’ and exclusive or collectors looking for lesser known 45s this one has rarity assured. Would have said there are fewer than 10 of these knocking around looking at Discogs and Popsike and very very few private sales on FB and elsewhere. Seen at £400-£500 before so this is a steal, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/7c1EDRESaxQ PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Killer lowrider 45s £100 and under
Charlottia Gilbert - Falling In Love With Him (Veep WD) Ex (a couple of light scuffs, DNAP, stop this from being Mint) £100 Killer lowrider cut that seems so far off the radar here, but has just enough beat to crossover. Stunning lead vocals with full on male group harmony backing. Seems a hard number on the label too, with prices the way they are for this type of sound currently and the quality of this 45 it’s a bargain. Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/xsHg7jybrvw Joe Valentine - Let It Be Love (Doug) Mint- £75 Sold Yes THAT Joe Valentine, with an earlier, dirtier, grittier slab of deep with a beat. Horns and vocals to die for here and starting to get some serious attention with lowrider collectors don’t expect it to stay this price for long because it ain’t a common 45 by any stretch. Gorgeous Mint- condition too! https://youtu.be/X3i2LC6KP1k Gifts - Lovin’ You (Ballad) Mint- (there is some light surface noise on this not sure if it’s a pressing fault so priced accordingly- sound clip available on request) £25 Sold Another on the up and up! There were multiple copies of this knocking around at £10-£20 a pop a year or two ago, but like so many others this has quickly doubled in price and for good reason. A killer slice of sweet group harmony soul for what is after all still less than 50 quid. https://youtu.be/NHD9AWGaRA8 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Garage is the new Northern Vol. 7
Mike Adkins - The Invaders Are Here (RCA) Mint- (company sleeve) £80 Could have sold 10 of these the other week when I listed the demo, but here I present a pristine copy of the far, far more elusive black stock copy. At least two, maybe three upfront DJs are about to give this some serious turntable action. Relatively unknown (in the U.K. anyway) killer garage soul banger, sounds like someone added crazed vocals to ‘On The Brink’! A break to die for this is going to be absolutely huge! Buy now before the price skyrockets. https://youtu.be/xPfJwOkkGHk Rock-A-Go Go’s - I’m Out To Win You All Over (Flower Power) Vg (looks worse than sounds, minimal noise and mostly overpowered by the recording, ballad flip fairs less well and plays closer to Vg-) £50 Killer, obscure and RARE as rocking horse s*it garage soul banger. Moody ballad flip ain’t too shabby either. Right for now? You bet it is! Under the radar currently. https://youtu.be/PEfMis4AdSQ Action Brass - When The Spirit Moves Me (Cartay) Mint- (with pic sleeve see image) £40 Storming garage soul that’s had some plays in the past but feels bang on for now. In a few upfront DJs boxes from what I can understand so likely to see some turntable action shortly. Another to buy now while it’s cheap! https://youtu.be/ICpxVg-hIbw Little Boy Blues - Look At The Sun (IRC) Mint- £40 Harmonica driven, heavily R&B influenced garage banger that’s been on Jack White’s playlist for a while and deserves more exposure. Not an easy find and this one’s in lovely condition. Just right for today’s progressive, upfront and alternative scenes. https://youtu.be/rpBf_FyQlLY PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Blue-eyed lowrider rarity: Mike Lundy & Deltones
Deltones - How I Wish (Teen) Mint- £200 Better known for his in demand rarity ‘Gray Skies’, this is Mike Lundy and The Deltones only other recording (even the flip is an entirely different group) and like the aforementioned 45 this is another killer blue eyed lowrider ballad out of Hawaii. Seems to be totally under the radar currently both here and across the pond. Rare and in this condominium not likely to crop up again anytime soon, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/o5npL9z6sXY PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. ***SOLD***Garage is the new Northern Vol. 6
Wild Ones featuring Joe Webster - I’ve Been Crying (S.P.Q.R.) Vg/Vg+ XOL (lots of surface marks but plays pretty clean, gentle crackle on spoken intro, priced accordingly) £75 Garage? Garagy certainly and sounds absolutely bang on for now. Spoken intro and then BOOM 100mph group dancer that should be massive, a set starter if ever there was one. About to get some serious turntable action and it’s not an easy find - expect price to soar on this, would be £150 if Ex or above. https://youtu.be/oA2tXPbCHjM Solid Soul - The Price Of Loving You (123) Mint- £40 Killer drums on another under the radar garage soul dancer that’s just full of potential. Tough on local release and pretty hard on 123 too. Don’t know if anyone playing this at the moment so an opportunity for the more upfront DJs to make this their own. Again, right for now! https://youtu.be/v6Bph5jBe0I The Mauds - You Make Me Feel So Bad (Mercury) Vg++ £35 Reliably informed this killer slab of garage soul has had plays in ‘90s and here and there since and yet has still to crossover to the wider northern scene. This honestly blew me away when I first heard it, garage soul at it’s very best and still cheap (well for now)! If you don’t like this then there’s little hope for you 😂 https://youtu.be/tdvDbBN3EvY PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Lowrider/Funk Edged Grail: Fabulistics on Great Potentia
Fabulistics - Ooh This Is Love/Nothing But Determination (Great Potential) Mint- (tiny pen mark on ‘Determination’ side barely noticeable - see image) £325 Reluctant sale from my personal collection, stunning condition on this rarely offered twofer. Topside is a stunning lowrider group ballad, highly sought after across the pond but yet to realise its huge potential on these shores. Flip it for funk edged group northern that’s really yet to have its day despite some action in more upfront venues in years gone by. Won’t hang around! Don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/dDt6jVe0WL0 https://youtu.be/1BpPcPj0ByY PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Postage UK £8 special delivery registered and insured, Europe £8.95 tracked and signed. SOLD**Low Price**Lowrider 45s**
E.G. Taylor and the Sounds of Soul - Pick Yourself Up/You Made Me Mad (Val) Mint- £45 Double sided dynamite, topside is yet another under the radar lowrider cut that’s as good as anything you’ll hear for double the price, flip it for some relatively unknown storming northern worthy of some exposure. https://youtu.be/Gd6zTHlRmRE https://youtu.be/WghkNG6ISsE Caesars - Get Yourself Together/(Lala) I Love You (Laine) Vg/Vg+ WOL (lower end of VG+, looks okay but gentle crackle, not as prevalent on ‘I Love You’ side) £35 Surely one of the best group harmony double siders of all time. ‘Together’ is killer lowrider harmony, flip it for a fabulous northern group dancer. Been rising in value recently as copies are ferreted away into collections (seen nice copies sell at £75 recently). https://youtu.be/As_IPCJrj2g https://youtu.be/Z58CdKZfA2s Contrails - Someone (Diamond) Ex £35 Gorgeous atmospheric group harmony lowrider that surely will not stay cheap for long. Not really on anyone’s radar in the U.K. or Europe as far as I know so can see this doubling in price once word is out. Get on it now while it’s still a bargain. https://youtu.be/_1L3umR-4BI Sensations - Please Baby Please (Way Out) Vg (some light crackle and pop here an there but mostly drowned out by recording. Clip available on request £25 Another that has yet to reach (many) European audiences and one that seems to have disappeared with fewer and fewer copies coming to market. Top condition copies are getting close to three figures, this isn’t in that bracket at all but priced accordingly. (N.B. Might clean up with some wood glue as most of the marks look relatively superficial so probably grubby). https://youtu.be/UotwjZq5oE8 PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Garage is the new Northern Vol.5
Mike Adkins - The Invaders Are Here (RCA) Mint- (in birth sleeve) £100 Could have sold 10 of these last week when I listed the demo, but here I present a pristine copy of the far more elusive black stock copy. At least two, maybe three upfront DJs are about to give this some serious turntable action. Relatively unknown killer garage soul banger, sounds like someone added crazed vocals to ‘On The Brink’! A break to die for this is going to be absolutely huge! Buy now before the price skyrockets. https://youtu.be/xPfJwOkkGHk The Chosen Few - Baby Don’t Do It (B.F.D.) Mint- £50 Already getting played by one or two of the better and more progressive DJs (am told Greg Belson dropped it in a set the other weekend). Driving garage soul dancer with killer drums. Not an easy one either, lovely copy, be quick! https://youtu.be/D-yZZPGSUwA The Mauds - You Make Me Feel So Bad (Mercury) Ex (in birth sleeve) £40 Like the others on this list could have sold multiple copies last time out. Reliably informed this killer slab of garage soul has had plays in ‘90s and here and there since and yet has still to crossover to the wider northern scene, but that’s changing fast as word is out. This honestly blew me away when I first heard it, garage soul at it’s very best and still cheap (well for now)! If you don’t like this then there’s little hope for you 😂 https://youtu.be/tdvDbBN3EvY Magnificent (7) - In Mist And Rain/ Stubborn Kind Of Fellow (Lemco) Mint- £25 Often overlooked for the ‘Stubborn’ side, but the flip is a fabulous slab of garage soul that seems totally under the radar. Another with a future for the more forward thinking DJs and collectors out there. Still cheap too! https://youtu.be/AnWYdQVW2Mg PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. ***SOLD***Chapells on Double Check
Chapells - No Friends At All/Are You Ready (Double Check) Mint- £325 Sadly going to have to part with this double sided, early Baltimore group gem. Two killer lowrider cuts back to back on this little rarity, seen it at close to £400 recently and it’s certainly in that region based on rarity/quality and demand. Still got a way to go too IMHO so a bargain, don’t sleep. https://youtu.be/n8l1EQKTans https://youtu.be/xwlwwLS_D1A PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. ***SOLD***Garage is the new Northern Vol. 4
Mike Adkins - The Invaders Are Here (RCA WD) Mint- (in birth sleeve) £60 At least two, maybe three upfront DJs are about to give this some serious turntable action. Relatively unknown killer garage soul banger, sounds like someone added crazed vocals to ‘On The Brink’! A break to die for this is going to be absolutely huge! Buy now before the price skyrockets. https://youtu.be/xPfJwOkkGHk Riddles - It’s One Thing To Say (Mercury) Vg++ £60 Could’ve sold twenty of these the last time I listed it. This one is going to be massive! Killer driving garage 45 with enormous northern potential for a DJ with some balls, had this one on repeat since it arrived, fu*king love it! Will be a four figure 45 by the end of year. https://youtu.be/KJ0Iw1s1WZ0 Huns - 1965 N.Y. E.P (only way to obtain ‘I Got You On My Mind’) Mint- (comes with picture sleeve, some yellowing to edges see image) £60 Recorded in 1965 but not released until 1979 in this rare picture sleeve E.P. format! Four nice garage tracks but it’s ‘I Got You On My Mind’ that will be of most interest I think. The perfect accompaniment to the Riddles 45 above and recently sold a copy to one of the more upfront DJs so it’s going to get some serious turntable action in those circles. Another 100mph stormer that’s going to get very hard to find! https://youtu.be/o2InbUBifHo PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. ***SOLD***Scooba Dellard and The Motions
Scooba Dellard and The Motions - ‘Human’ c/up Mint- £250 Relisted due to buyer pulling out. Funk edged kiddie soul rarity currently being played c/up by Brain Maguire and on the playlist of two other forward thinking DJs currently. A seriously rare 45 with, as far as I am aware, these 3 being the only copies in the U.K. other known copies. A chance to own a relatively exclusive current upfront spin and certainly a very rare 45 that’s bang on for now. https://youtu.be/dk8rJBc4nUU PayPal as friends and family or add 4%.
