Marcell Strong & The Triad - Trying To Make Up/Time To Pay You Back (Emerge) Vg+ (WOL, appears to be Marcell Strong’s autograph!) £125 Killer gritty R&B dancer that’s had little exposure over the years outside of Europe and some of the more progressive DJs. Tough 45 to acquire like most on the label and sounds right for today’s dance floors. Flip it for a fabulous deep soul cut that’s also somewhat under the radar. Some light crackle here and there overpowered by recording. https://youtu.be/bSCDl82J8qY?si=BVYe-AGre9vB2r80 https://youtu.be/uhJJOb9ssaM?si=5uWKdKp0ZwjByryY PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Larry Darnell - Too Many Heartaches (Resist) Vg £100 Beyond rare, previously undocumented Resist 45, not listed on Cogs and only slipped through eBay three times. Seems to share the same cat. no as Loose Wig ‘I’ll Always Love You Darlin’/‘I’m In Love With You Baby’ so assume was withdrawn hence rarity. A fabulously catchy mid tempo R&B cut that I guarantee you will singing after you be listen! Only Vg (although looks closer to Vg+), only light background noise and would benefit from a professional clean. One you you won’t see again anytime soon! No YouTube, clip from actual 45 below photo. Gene Graham - You Can’t Change Me (Checker) Vg+ £200 Very tough number on the label and what a 45! The Mask Man And The Agents* – (In A) Crowded Station / It's The Thing (LOOP) Trying to source a copy of this one for a friend Vg+ or better please

Faces – I Didn’t Want Her (Regina) Vg+ £70 Killer blue eyed lowrider group harmony. Seems to be exceptionally rare given the tiny number through eBay and Discogs, pretty much totally under the radar too (except to one or two of the Popcorn collectors), but it’s recent upload to M818joker’s incredibly popular YouTube channel is likely to change that. Bargain, don’t sleep! https://youtu.be/bgwDsYqlHlw Javier Batiz - I Won’t Ever (Discos Star E.P.) Vg- £30 (picture sleeve included alt kluge this is split down one side, otherwise Vg condition) Mexican guitarist Javier Batiz delivers a sublime slab of sweet soul on what is an incredibly difficult record to find in anything but beat condition. Sadly, this one is no exception was sold to me as Vg+ but is nowhere near, noise throughout but listenable (may benefit from a good clean). Would be £150+ in anything like decent condition. Made the cut for ‘Shades of Sorrow’ Vol. 3 - nuff said! HNY! Starting off 2024 with some killer Gospel Funk, Sweet and Deep Soul 45s! Gospel Monolations - Looking For Jesus/Christ Is The Only Answer (Savoy) Mint- £50 Virtually unknown gospel funk banger, brilliant dancer and easily as good as any of the better gospel biggies. Flip is a brilliant deep ballad that’s yet to be discovered across the pond - double sided dynamite! https://youtu.be/GNpEVNO4zw8?si=ZgZ6wdsJ47HRpMb_ https://youtu.be/PhRNs7xSF50?si=PldMZZqnfAS40bdG Soul Stirrers - There’s A Man (Checker Sermons & Spirituals) Mint- £30 For me one of, if not their very, best recordings. Deep group harmony that’s had plays in Europe recently thanks to Andreas Beraha. Impossible to find in anything but beaten condition on Checker, this is super clean Sermons & Spirituals issue. Not on YouTube! Clip below from actual record on my channel. https://youtu.be/1oGSW7Aknog Soul Stirrers - Striving (Checker) Mint- £25 Last couple of these I’ve had have flown out! Killer funky gospel crossover that still seems to be under the radar, can only find the one YouTube clip below, so not widely known and not expensive (yet) but ‘Don’t You Worry’ was cheap once! https://youtu.be/3-VHFRzcO1w PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Mandells - What Can You Do For Me (Moneytown) Mint- £85 Gorgeous group harmony ballad that’s not common, surprising this isn’t selling for more but not on many people’s radar (yet) except the lowrider collectors. Lovely copy, clean labels. https://youtu.be/LHXvCjsR0w8?si=jq5NNnyekK_Zq5b5 Hector Rivera and The Latin Renaissance - I Need You I Want You I Love You (4 Points) Vg (WOL) £50 Not the best copy of this rarely offered 45, but there are no big clicks or pops just some crackle in the quite moments. Could’ve sold it five times at £150 in Mint- a year or so ago. I predict big things for this 45, still under the radar I think here in the U.K. but with big demand stateside it can only rise in value. For me Rivera’s finest outing s delightful lowrider ballad with a mesmerising almost hypnotic backing track. Don’t sleep. (YouTube clip for reference only, DM for clip from actual 45) https://youtu.be/gAx9GCKWXII Herb Johnson And The Impacts - Where Are You/I’m So Glad (Brunswick Gold Reissue) Mint- £50 With Toxsan originals never showing up (last Discogs was nearly four years ago and sold at £500, so who know what it would go for now), and Brunswick second press copies at least half that price, this official re-issue has seen a steady rise in price. Big demand for the lowrider side and rightly so, plus you get a northern classic on the flip! https://youtu.be/J1BLCVDhQj4?si=_Z6PKPhhEvCFMMY7 https://youtu.be/eDSVgUyZeuU?si=OIICw1UIEjJQgOCz Jimmy Lomax - Remember Me (Camille) Vg+ £15 Stunning lowrider 45 that’s been slept on for far too long, label on flip has Camille logo scratched out and then written in I pen but at this price you can’t really go wrong can you? https://youtu.be/8FsOniN2HCM?si=m0avudt8lD_-Wjzj PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. Sophelia Carlisle - Hello Love (Jarda) Ex £175 Pretty much unknown, sublime crossover/sweet soul gem, barely ever gone through eBay, Discogs or FB. Known to collectors but this has had very little exposure over the years, big future in the right hands! https://youtu.be/d04AKfvFA2g?si=y_N5NpxmVDvwBE7n Gene Graham - You Can’t Change Me (Checker) Vg++ £225 Very tough to find Checker 45, R&B with a funk edge that’s about to get some serious turntable action from Brian Maguire and Paul Vine. Barely known at the moment thanks to rarity. Was gonna keep this and okay it out myself but selling as in need of funds. https://youtu.be/14WjDTBIdNA?si=gR5I2zLf-wSkHJBf Mandells - What Can You Do For Me (Moneytown) Mint- £100 Gorgeous group harmony ballad that’s not common, surprising this isn’t selling for more but not on many people’s radar (yet) except the lowrider collectors. Soul Messengers - I’ve Been Changed (Elbam!) Mint- £200 Rare as hen’s teeth, dancer floor destroyer that’s had precious little exposure thanks to its scarcity. Gospel meets R&B meets Funk to create an instantly infectious dancer that will have broad appeal. Honestly amazed this one hasn’t crossed over to the wider northern scene but then rarity has no doubt held it back. Perfect for the enterprising DJ looking for something different that’s right for now and will remain relatively exclusive. Gorgeous copy, you won’t see another like this anytime soon. https://youtu.be/7F7YtBQi-P8?si=Z8VwS2nAwVCk_KGC PayPal as friends and family or add 4%. **SALE**UP TO 50% OFF***BARGAINS Lovations - I Don’t Want You (Cap City) strong Vg+ (plays mint) Was £350 NOW ONLY £200 Absolutely stunning and rare girl group lowrider that’s very much in demand. Cannot believe this hasn’t sold already, with recent sales of £450+ at Ex and above and whilst this has a few light marks and some label discolouration it plays beautifully! Got to be an absolute bargain at this price! https://youtu.be/YprLGnks62I?si=UCKVr008TdFrECUG Edwin Riley - I Love My Baby/Will You Still Love Me (Sunni) Vg+/Vg Was £150 NOW ONLY £75 Tough Texas twofer here. Top side is superb mid tempo northern that, thanks to rarity, has had little exposure, flip it for an incredible slab of R&B that like it’s topside still has plenty of legs in it. A scarce 45 that is rarely offered in any condition or on either of its two releases, like many this has multiple surface marks. Topside plays Vg+ with only the occasional light crackle, the flip has slightly more crackle although still plays Vg and has one tiny skip during the sax break which could be repaired easily. I have played this out and really does sound pretty good. Some ring wear and WOL but you ain’t getting a mint one of these anytime soon and it is very much priced accordingly. Lovations - I Don’t Want You (Cap City) Vg+ (plays mint) £300 Absolutely stunning, and rare, girl group lowrider that’s very much in demand. The Wrong Rain - I’m So Proud (Tomi) Vg- £100 Simply stunning ‘Shades of Sorrow’ blue eyed lowrider and easily the rarest of the three, arguably the least known too. Just two recoded sales on Discogs and up until yesterday only once through eBay. A mint copy, sold by Carolina Soul made $441 a few weeks ago. Looks like the word is finally out on this rarity. Condition - lots of hairlines, no big deep marks or loud clicks but some light background crackle - may benefit from a professional clean (someone like Yann could probably get this up a grade quite easily). Priced accordingly (and still cheap!) YouTube for reference only (please DM for clip from actual copy for sale). https://youtu.be/4U1LaJ4av-c?si=LPxqChPfyb4G4462 Herb Johnson And The Impacts - Where Are You/I’m So Glad (Brunswick Gold Reissue) Mint- £65 With Toxsan originals never showing up (last Discogs was nearly four years ago and sold at £500, so who know hat it would go for now), and Brunswick second press copies at least half that price, this official re-issue has seen a steady rise in price. The mid tempo ‘Something’ will appeal to dancers and could easily crossover to the northern scene whilst ‘Love’ is a Shades of Sorrow style lowrider that seems to have, thus far, escaped attention. Can’t decide which I prefer TBH, both have been on repeat since it arrived. Gillettes - Same Identical Thing (J&S) Mint- £350 No introduction necessary, still on of Stafford’s finest. So hard to find these days, Manship auctioned one this year achieving £400, a record that isn’t ever going down in price and one that’s a long way from being overplayed! Hal Hardy - Love Man/House Of Broken Hearts (Hollywood) Mint- £100 Double sided dynamite! ‘House’ will bring back fond memories of Stafford for many, but has had little exposure since and consequently has plenty of legs left in it. But it is the flip side that’s caused a stir in more recent times, a fabulous R&B dancer that is as instant as any I’ve heard (great spoken intro too). One that doesn’t come to market often and this is a superb example. https://youtu.be/SDsH9aOBl6g?si=vOPBMXPhNTEvjyIJ https://youtu.be/rc7ugWTNEwQ?si=Wp8ldbb4pJNrNldH Herb Johnson And The Impacts - Where Are You/I’m So Glad (Brunswick Gold Reissue) Mint- £100 With Toxsan originals never showing up (last Discogs was nearly four years ago and sold at £500, so who know hat it would go for now), and Brunswick second press copies at least half that price, this official re-issue has seen a steady rise in price.
